Volume 3, Chapter 8: Proclamation
"What? This is the response?"
The king of Yamato is frozen in the conference room of the highest-ranking officials.
An impressive lineup consisting of the king, prime minister, Duke Ijuuin, Duke Saitou, Duke Miyata, Duke Sugimoto, Duke Mitarai, and Marquis Fujiwara is sitting around a tremendously luxurious circular table.
In addition, Princess Miyabi, Lieutenant Kunihito, Lieutenant Yoshiaki, and the Murakami brothers were also present at the special invitation.
In the reply from Patrida, it was written that unless they turned a blind eye to the situation, the proclamation would be distributed, and the proclamation itself was enclosed.
The proclamation begins with a description of the events that have unfolded so far and how Yuuki was forced into seclusion and left alone. It goes on to describe how he was made to sleep on the floor in a cleaning supplies room with a smelly blanket and served food in a dish like dog food with leftover soup poured over it.
"What? Did they really do such things?"
"Well, um, it was a little difficult to talk to Colonel, and I didn't get close to him on the last ship, so I wasn't treated like that..."
Lieutenant Yoshiaki answers in a stammering manner.
"While what is written may seem trivial, it's troublesome."
Duke Saitou is troubled.
"Did they really do it to him? Well, I guess he just ran away from the Continent, but in that case, he's a hero, isn't he, leading the monsters away?"
The prime minister is quite flustered.
"It's really minor, but it hits right where it hurts."
Duke Sugimoto makes a bitter face.
"If this is exposed, it won't be him, but Yamato that becomes an outcast."
Duke Ijuuin says with a self-deprecating smile.
"No, it's not a laughing matter. Can we win against him? Do you think we can?"
Everyone shakes their heads in response to the king's question.
"It's impossible. There are Sea Serpents and pirates, and they will definitely launch an attack at sea. We have no chance of winning."
Duke Miyata ponders with a serious expression.
"What do you all think?"
The king asked Princess Miyabi, Lieutenant Kunihito, and Lieutenant Yoshiaki.
All three were bowing their heads.
"Well, it's true that everyone in Yamato was terrible after Alexia, and I couldn't defend him either, so I'm equally guilty. I want to hear what you, who were closest, think."
The king asked again.
"...Probably, he will do even more ruthless things before the war. In fact, he might already be moving."
Princess Miyabi timidly answered.
"Because he have incredible intuition for warfare. Honestly, it's dangerous."
Lieutenant Yoshiaki replied.
"He might already be doing it."
Lieutenant Kunihito answered.
"That's bad. It's really bad. Anyway, let's apologize and think about the matter of the savior later. Let's quickly offer an apology and a gift. We have plenty of money..."
The prime minister interrupted.
"Well, you see, a letter has arrived from Aoi, and it seems that the masked woman who was surveilling has been exposed..."
"What? Seriously?"
"And she wrote that if she comes to monitor again, there will be a war."
"Seriously?"
The king's face was filled with despair.
"And so, as I mentioned the other day, she said she would make another move to enhance combat evolution."
"Now that you mention it, she did say that."
The king turned pale.
"Anyway, contact her and stop her! This is bad! It's really bad!"
The king panicked and ordered the prime minister.
"She's also someone who will do it. This is bad. It's really bad."
The king turned pale and held his head.
