Go to Eddies after breakfast. Give him money tell him to have fun get a makeover. Live it up a little then make more money in stocks and investments. I'll meet you in a week.
After letting Eddie in I invited him to sit on the couch with me and got right down to it. I was starting similar to the OG Vernon.
"So Eddie, you are interested after all."
Eddie replied almost instantly "That stuff is amazing."
After thinking for a second, I decided to skip over the small talk and get to the point.
"So do you want some more?"
Again instantly, "Yes, definitely."
I decided to give a bit of the truth while proposing my deal.
"Well, Eddie, I have an offer for you. But before that, I want to let you know a few things. firstly, this isn't FDA-approved. Second, while it may seem perfect now there are minor side effects that will pop up after prolonged use. My proposal to you is, I'll supply you with NZT and some starting capital. With that I want you to first grow your capital and use said money to higher more and or buy out the current company and look into how to remove said side effects while keeping the main effects. The boys in the lab call the current version NZT-48 but they are still years away from anything concrete and without side effects. I want you to grow Eddie. Growin wealth and influence then I want you to fund and perfect an idea I had on a new way to use NZT. simple, right? Ultimately aren't you the one winning the most? As long as you work fast you won't experience very many if any side effects at all.
Tucking all the sensitive items I pulled out last night I go to open the door before moving back to the couch.
After Eddie stepped into the room, I gestured for him to take a seat on the plush couch beside me. We didn't waste any time and got straight to the heart of the matter. I began the conversation much like the original Vernon.
"So, Eddie, it seems you're genuinely interested after all," I remarked, my tone as composed as the calm before a storm.
Eddie's response was almost immediate, his eyes shining with anticipation. "That stuff is absolutely incredible," he exclaimed.
I didn't want to waste any time on trivial small talk, so I decided to cut to the chase. "So, do you want more?" I asked pointedly.
Once again, Eddie's answer came without hesitation. "Yes, definitely," he affirmed.
I leaned in a bit, ready to lay my cards on the table. "Well, Eddie, I have an offer for you. But before we dive into the details, there are a few things you should know. Firstly, this product isn't backed by the FDA, so it's not your typical pharmaceutical. Secondly, while it might seem like a miracle right now, there are some minor side effects that could surface with prolonged use."
I paused, letting the gravity of the situation sink in before continuing, "My proposal to you is this: I'll supply you with NZT and provide you with some initial capital. Your mission is to use that capital wisely, build your wealth and influence, and perhaps even acquire the current company responsible for NZT production. Your primary objective is to investigate how to eliminate those pesky side effects while preserving the main benefits. The lab folks currently refer to the current version as NZT-48, but they're still a few years away from achieving anything concrete without side effects."
I leaned back, allowing Eddie to absorb the weight of my proposition. "I want you to grow, Eddie, both in terms of wealth and influence. Once you've amassed the necessary resources, I want you to fund and refine an idea I've been developing – a new, groundbreaking application for NZT. It's a straightforward plan, isn't it? In the end, you stand to gain the most. As long as you work swiftly, you may not even experience any significant side effects."
The room seemed to buzz with anticipation as I laid out the path ahead, a future filled with boundless potential, wealth, and innovation.
"So, Eddie what do you say?"
This time there was a pause, but only for a second before he said, "I'm in."
After hearing his words I pull out the bag of pills and a stack of cash from under the couch cushion and give them to him.
The pills are useless to me and the money is just side money Vernon had stashed just in case of emergencies. I hand them all over and tell him, "Don't tell anyone about this and if you need more money just come and ask Don't do anything that could fuck this up alright? Other than that as long as you grow in wealth and influence you can do or be whatever you want."
"Ok, I got it, Vern."
"Good, how about we go get some breakfast to celebrate."
"Ok lets go."
With that, we both make our way it the door. Down to the lobby and out of the building. As we were walking down the street, I noticed an all-black Escalade pull up and park across from the building. That isn't what really caught my art though, what did was my 'old friend' Jonathon was getting out of the back seat of it. I was able to see the handle of the gun on the back of his waist before he could adjust his hoodie.
Jonathan was a junkie customer from Vernon's college days. He comes from a wealthy, well-connected family. He like Gennedy our Russian friend, has family in high-ranking positions with Mafia. He could have been set for life, that is until he met Vernon at his first college party. As you can expect, Vernon saw a walking ATM when looking at Jonathan, he immediately started convincing poor Jonathan to partake in all types of narcotics. He used any means from pretty girls to lacing his other drugs and drinks. It eventually got to the point that Jonathan burned through his savings on drugs and girls, all of which are arranged by Vernon, for a high fee of course. Jonathan, less than 3 months after entering ended up having to receive large sums of money from his mother to continue his habits, until his father got wind of it.
I immediately picked up my pace and walked to the middle of a small group that was moving in front of us, almost like stealth from Assassins Creed. I made sure that there were plenty of people between me and the car while still observing it.
Soon after Jon
"Ahh, wait I forgot something, Eddie I need to move in with you for a bit. A week max, probably."
