Chapter 16 - FIVE CHAPTERS OF Am I A Superman? not fully edited

Jack Meyers found himself alone in the bleachers of the Smallville High School football field in Kansas. Though his eyes were fixed on the young men playing American football below, his thoughts had already drifted far beyond the horizon.

"Man, even after 16 years, I still can't wrap my head around it. Why did I end up here? I swear, I didn't do anything out of the ordinary – no car accidents, computer explosions, or being struck by lightning. Yet here I am, in this strange situation."

Yes, Jack was a solid Asian-American guy, as ordinary as they come. He had his home, friends, and a crush.

But imagine waking up without any warning, like you've had a long dream, only to find yourself transformed into a baby just a few months old.

And so, he spent sixteen new years navigating this peculiar reality.

Growing up from a young age had its advantages – no communication barriers, and no worries about revealing clues while crossing the road.

Jack, or should we call him Jack Rogers, since his parents disappeared a decade ago? He vaguely remembered a meteorite shower hitting the town, nearly destroying it. Jack's uncle and guardian, Sheriff James Rogers, explained that his parents had ventured far away.

"Ding Ding Ding..."

A prolonged series of ringtones disrupted Jack's thoughts. The teens playing football on the field took a break upon hearing the ringtone.

After the bell signaled the end of football practice, quarterback Whitney, carrying a box of sodas, called out to the players:

"Hey, guys, gather 'round! Jack here treated us to drinks. Thanks, Jack!"

Players and cheerleaders eagerly rushed to grab sodas. Whitney, holding two cans, approached Jack in the bleachers.

"Hey, buddy, thanks for the sodas. You look like you could use some action on the field. Wanna join us for football?"

Whitney, despite being just eighteen, stood nearly 6'4" in front of Jack, casting a shadow over him.

Jack, in decent shape and handsome face with a mix of Chinese and American heritage, accepted a soda, smiling at Whitney.

"Don't think you can impress me with your pitch. He talks about it non-stop, claiming to be the star pitcher at Smallville High. Annoys the heck out of me!"

Whitney patted Jack's shoulder. "Join us, feel the charm of American football. Plus, you might catch the eye of some girls. Alright, no more talking – I'll train the guys."

Amidst the cheers, an electronic sound echoed in Jack's mind.

"Ding, increase friendship to friendliness, unlock the Whitney character card."

This voice was familiar to Jack – the system that came with him when he crossed over.

The Friendship System – that was its name.

In simple terms, friendship values ranged from hate to ordinary, friendly, trust, reverence, to life and death.

If Jack's relationship with someone reached the friendly level, he could obtain a character card with some of that person's abilities.

Jack once focused on building a relationship with the town's mayor. To his surprise, the unlocked card skills turned out to be secret and hidden from the mayor's wife.

Annoyed, Jack thought, "Couldn't you consider the feelings of a single guy? Not a hint of a girlfriend, and you're sneaking around with someone else's uncle!"

This system was truly insidious!

"Let's check out Whitney's card skills. Well, I am a school star too, but I won't brag!"

Closing his eyes, Jack opened the Friendship System with his consciousness. Rows of cards appeared, and at the top was the white card unlocked by Whitney.

[White Card: Whitney

Race: Human

Main card effect: primary charm attributes, dating specialization, pop specialization, girl killer.

Additional note: There is not much room for growth in the body.]

"Nice attributes, much better than some sneaky specialization. Not bad for a box of soda in exchange for friendship!"

Jack reassured himself.

Like most game attributes, Jack's cards were graded. The weakest was the ordinary white card, followed by a slightly better white card, and the rare blue card.

Above the blue card were heroic purple cards, legendary gold cards, and epic orange cards.

"Equip into the main card slot!"

The character interface allowed a primary card and several secondary cards. Generally, all skills were effective only when the card was equipped in the main slot, with only a small part of additional attributes effective in the secondary slot.

The card slot's effectiveness depended on the friendship value.

Taking Whitney as an example, with a friendly friendship value, the main card could unleash 40% of Whitney's card effect. If upgraded to trust, the effect would increase to 55%.

The higher the friendship value, the greater the card effect!

On the character interface, the white Whitney card occupied the main card slot. In that moment, Jack felt a newfound charisma, significantly boosting his overall charm.

"Wow, it feels like I just learned how to charm the ladies... Finally understand why I was single in my past life!"

Recalling past experiences, Jack felt a pang of heartache. Still, he held back the sorrow and put on a strong, unyielding expression.

Several cheerleader girls passed by Jack. One of them exclaimed:

"Wow, that guy is so handsome, even when he's down!"

Jack overheard and turned to see a group of blond girls, typical American high school students, ready to cause trouble.

"I guess this card's effect is really something!" Jack thought, pleased with the card's performance, though he maintained a mysterious demeanor.

Then, an Asian girl approached – Lana Lang, the class flower from the next class. Jack had attempted to woo her before, but the situation was comparable to a car crash.

Miserable!

"Hi, Jack, can I ask you for a favor?" Lana initiated a conversation with Jack today.

With Lana present, the blonde girls faded into the background. Jack turned and flashed a gentlemanly smile, concealing his inner thoughts.

"Lana, what can I do for you?"

"Well, many players on the team graduated, and the coach wants us to recruit potential newcomers. There's one guy who's perfect, but he's not into football. Your popularity is the key. Can you help me convince him to join the team?"

"Sure, Lana, no problem. I'm curious, though – who's the lucky guy worth your persuasion?"

"Clark Kent!" Lana revealed the name.

...

...

.

.

.

Jack was very surprised to hear the name, so, he said quickly

"Who? Say it again?"

Lana seemed surprised by Jack's reaction. She sounded a bit unsure and repeated it: "Clark Kent, from the Kent farm, his father is Jonathan Kent. Played quarterback at Smallville High."

Kent Farm... Clark Kent... Meteor shower a decade ago...

Though many years had passed since Jack crossed over as a baby in this world, memories of his previous life remained somewhat blurred. But some things stuck, like being a fan of superheroes.

For instance, Clark Kent – he's Superman!

Realizing this, Jack had a bold thought:

'Oh, come on... This is a massive revelation... Did I just pass through to the DC universe?'

'Small town... Smallville, isn't that where Superman lived before!'

Seeing Jack's unsettled face, Lana inquired with concern: "Jack, are you okay? Why did your expression change when you heard Clark's name?"

"Oh, I'm fine, just suddenly remembered that my mom is also named Martha!" Jack quickly adjusted and said.

Lana's expression darkened with a question mark: "I haven't mentioned his mother at all!"

"Oh, my bad!"

Jack naturally wouldn't reveal he was onto something. In Batman vs. Superman, the line 'my mother is also called Martha' reconciles two beefy heroes.

Waving it off, he said, "Don't worry about these details, let's go, and take me to him."

Seeing Jack agree, Lana shelved her doubts and led Jack back to the teaching building. The two walked to the second grade of Class A. Only one person was in the classroom. Jack checked; he looked about sixteen.

The young boy had black hair, not fully grown yet, but his body was exceptionally robust. Sensing someone approaching, he turned around and saw Lana and Jack.

"Hi, Clark."

Lana greeted, but Clark's pale face turned even paler as Lana approached.

"Hi, Lana..."

Clark loved Lana in his heart, but for some reason, he felt weak every time she got close.

So more often than not, Clark followed Lana from a distance.

Jack paused, subconsciously noticing the green gem necklace on Lana's neck. This green gem emitted a faint green light near Clark.

Kryptonite!

"Why do you look uncomfortable every time you see me?" Lana murmured, quietly complaining but also explaining why she asked Jack to accompany her.

In fact, Lana's necklace did contain kryptonite. Her parents 'disappeared' in that meteor shower a decade ago. Growing up, Lana understood what 'disappeared' meant in her aunt's words. So she crafted the vermiculite that brought disaster into a necklace to honor her parents.

This unintentional move made her unintentionally weaken every time she approached Clark.

"Lana, let me talk to him!"

Jack subtly pulled Lana back, but they were intercepted by Clark. As a result, the kryptonite dimmed, and Clark's face eased a lot.

"Hello Clark, I'm Jack, Jack Rogers." Jack added silently, 'Hello, Kal-El.'

"Hello, this is Clark Kent."

This marked the first dialogue between Jack and the future Superman. In Jack's memory, Superman also loved football as a child, influenced by local culture. In school, the most admired figure wasn't the class genius but the star player on the football team.

Almost every generation in town took pride in joining the football team, a tradition. Little Superman, growing up in this culture, naturally loved this sport.

But Clark wasn't an ordinary person. He possessed extraordinary strength, lifting a car at just six years old.

He had to be careful, not revealing himself, and certainly not participating in this dangerous sport. Of course, the danger wasn't for him, but for his teammates.

So, as a teen, Clark Kent felt lonely and confused. He didn't know who he was, where he came from, or what lay ahead.

He had a thousand thoughts but no one to share them with.

Wearing a crown comes with a weight. The growth of superheroes is never smooth. What people can't see are the twists and turns in the heroes' journey to growth.

"Yes, the old players on the football team are about to graduate, so we need some new players, and we want to invite you to join us." Jack tried to suppress his inner excitement.

Clark shook his head. "Sorry, my father doesn't allow me to join the football team."

Jonathan Kent had his concerns. On the one hand, he didn't want Little Superman to expose his strength. On the other, he considered the well-being of others. football involved physical confrontation, and if someone faced off with Little Superman, it was like crashing into a steel plate.

His cheekbones would take the hit.

But Jack wasn't ready to give up. It was a good start, a good start to his connection with Clark.

Superman! Being friends with Superman? What a concept!

Who would dare bully him if he had Superman as a friend?

And Jack had a friendship system. If his friendship value with Little Superman was friendly, he could unlock a Little Superman character card.

Even though Clark hadn't grown into Superman yet, a little Superman, at the very least, should be a purple hero card!

With that in mind, Jack cleared his throat and continued, "Hey Clark, I'm not asking for your father's permission... I know you want to say you have special circumstances. Listen to me... I just want to ask you, what kind of person do you want to be? Listen to your heart and tell me what you really like."

At this, Clark trembled. In his rebellious youth, he didn't want to follow the rules set by his adoptive father, an upright and stern man. Those rules, while meant for his protection, were hard to abide by in his rebellious teenage phase.

"I hope to fit in with everyone, but... but I can't!" Little Superman turned away, eyes filled with loss.

He knew he might accidentally harm others.

Jack placed a reassuring hand on Clark's shoulder, feeling... incredulous, it was as if Clark's shoulder muscles were made of lead!

"Cough... Clark, give yourself a chance and everyone a chance to get to know you. If you bravely give it a shot, you'll find that things aren't as difficult as you think!"

Jack was dishing out some soulful chicken soup talk, impressed with himself.

Internet soulful chicken soup actually worked. After hearing Jack's pep talk, Little Superman trembled, and his eyes gradually lit up.

He looked at Jack and Lana, asking, "Can I really do that?"

Jack also gave him a firm look. "At two o'clock this afternoon, I'll accompany you to the training. Give it a shot. After today's training, decide if you want to participate."

As long as Little Superman agreed, even if Jack and Little Superman weren't exactly on the same page, they could gradually cultivate friendly values... and unlock the Superman card! Victory would be inevitable!

True to Jack's expectations, Clark nodded vigorously. "I'll be at practice this afternoon, but I have to go home and talk to my father first. Rest assured... I'll convince him!"

Clark didn't have much confidence in what he said later, but no matter what, Jack always had an excuse to keep in touch with Clark. At the very least, it wouldn't seem too deliberate.

After Clark left, Lana stared at Jack with her beautiful eyes. "Well, Jack, I really didn't expect you to get through to Clark. At least, I didn't hold much hope."

"Who says I'm not charming?"

Jack sat upright, and Whitney's charm bonus instantly dissipated. Lana laughed, both amused and trembling.

"You are really narcissistic. So tell me, how can I reward you?"

Saying that Lana leaned forward and sat directly on Jack's lap. Her soft body pressed against Jack, and a pair of slender hands rested on Jack's chest. A fragrant breath escaped from her delicate nose.

(Very Important PS: I think it's better to explain. This book uses Clark Kent, who has not yet become Superman, as an entry point. But don't worry about the slow pace. That's impossible. Also, this book best embodies the parallel universe. One point, the author thinks that it is mainly in the setting of this book. Wonder Woman is still on Paradise Island, and Steve Trevor in the movie did not bring Diana out.)

'Stay still, dont move.' he repeated to himself

Jack, a rookie in this lifetime, is so overwhelmed that he almost can't handle it, but he also can't afford it!

Perhaps others don't know, but as a DC fan, Jack knows very well that Little Superman secretly loved a girl in his adolescence, also named Lana Lang.

Jack was still surprised that this girl had the same name as Lana Lang. Who would have thought that it's the same name, the same person!

'To die or to die, if at this time Little Superman forgets something or comes back for something, and sees this scene, all my hard-earned friendship value will be wiped out in an instant!'

Jack summoned his greatest courage, gathered all his willpower, and was about to push away Lana sitting on him, but the beauty on his body leaned down slightly, her red lips pressed on his cheek, and she spoke like a gentle breeze.

"My aunt goes to the metropolis to run errands all the time. I'm home alone at night. Do you... want come and help me with my homework?" Lana said softly, then got up and left.

She unknowwingly left Jack with a grimace on his face.

'Wow, do all your girls like this play?'

Jack closed his eyes, and said madly in his heart, 'Friend's crush, don't bully!'

'Friend's crush, don't bully!... Friend's crush... no, you're welcome!

What do you think? Didn't you hear that Lana asked me to help her with her homework?' Jack's face was pure. 'Just study her homework and you won't get her pregnant!'

Moreover, Superman's official match is Louise Lane. Superman has never been with Lana in history, so he is not a messy CP!

Suddenly he felt that the attributes of the girl killer on Whitney were really good, too powerful!

He went home at noon, and there was no one in the family. After all, Jack's uncle was a sheriff and was very busy with work. His aunt had left him long ago, and he heard that she had gone to the metropolis.

Jack took some potato steaks from the refrigerator and fried them a little before coping.

Going to Lana's home to do homework at night, and the football training in the afternoon seemed less important. Anyway, as long as Clark had a good time, he would go to Lana's at night and had to be more formal.

A flower, little gift, little dessert.

Maybe it's Whitney's character card that is still playing a role. Jack is going all out to please the ladies. The main thing is to buy, buy, send.

As long as a little gift, a little surprise, and a sense of romantic ritual is created, you can instantly break the other's heart defense, and then you can do whatever you want!

At the thought of this, Jack couldn't wait to slap himself in the face, why the heck was he so incomprehensible and deserved to be single?

While taking a break at noon, Jack went to the streets of the town to buy all the things he needed and cheekily went to a convenience store to buy a full dozen boxes of condoms.

At the checkout, the cashier guy had a sleazy smile on his face. Jack also reported the same smile. Men, they all understand.

Jack felt a bit guilty, but the idea of breaking his virginity tonight and entering a new phase made him think, 'What the heck, I won't regret it.'

It was time in the afternoon, and when Jack appeared with a box of soda on the field, Clark was already waiting there.

"Hey Clark, have you been here so early?" Jack was pleasantly surprised to find that after a noon break, his friendship with Little Superman had increased by 10%, and now it is 60%. Only the last forty are left in the next stage of a friendship percentage point.

Clark smiled friendly at Jack: "I've been here for a while."

"Did your father agree so easily?" Jack thought that Mr, Kent would refuse.

"I had a fight with him, but he finally compromised. I believe I can do well!" Clark said firmly.

In fact, Jack knows what he means, and to put it bluntly, Kal-El will be careful not to hurt you, the vulnerable Earthman.

The team members of the training camp came one after another, including some cheerleaders with idiots. Under the charm of the Whitney Character Card, Jack is now the focus of attention.

When Lord Whitney saw Jack, he took the initiative to say hello: "Jack, do you want to participate in training?"

"Not only me, but also my friend, let me introduce you, Clark Kent."

Jack introduced the two, and Whitney smiled friendlyly at Clark. "I've been wanting to recruit you, Kent. Now that you're rolling with Jack, you'll be part of our team during training!"

Clark had no opinion. When Whitney went to organize, he gave a grateful glance at Jack: "Thanks, man! You're quite the hit around school, too!"

Can make Little Superman envious, Jack feels brighter on his face: "As long as you make more friends, you will also be very popular."

The two were chatting, and the cheerleading team had started rehearsing. Lana stood at the front of the team, holding two bunches of pom-poms and waving at Jack and Clark.

Jack noticed that Clark's gaze at Lana was so soft that it was hard to imagine the Superman of the Iron Body, and there had been such tender moments like water.

"Love is a light, it's so green that you panic!" Jack expressed a sentiment that left people somewhat perplexed.

Soon, training began, and Jack and Clark were assigned to the rookie team, which were all newcomers participating in training less than one year, and the other team was formed by Whitney, the senior team.

Everyone wears protective gear, and with the coach's whistle, the game starts instantly.

Jack didn't understand the rules of football. Anyway, he just ran with Clark. As the main force of the new team, Clark rushed to the line.

However, despite taking the lead, Jack put in extra effort to maintain control. When someone collided with him, he would come to a halt and lean back slightly, as if absorbing the impact.

In reality, not only could the other high school students not tackle him, but even if you hit him with a car, you might not knock him down!

Charging through the opponent's defense, Jack kicked the ball over the goal crossbar and between the two goal posts. The opposing team barely had time to react before he scored a three-pointer.

As the goal was made, the cheerleaders erupted in cheers. The young girls energetically waved their colored pom-poms and shouted, "Clark Kent!"

Especially when Clark spotted Lana cheering for him, he flashed an innocent smile.

"Great job, buddy! I knew you could do it!"

Jack also joined Clark, shaking his shoulders enthusiastically, but... Clark remained unmoved, his attention focused elsewhere.

Well, don't bother about these details.

.

.

.

The training session in the afternoon only lasted for half an hour, during which the rookie team managed to score 12 points. This was largely due to Clark intentionally going easy on them.

"Looks like I might just get to win an easy W with Little Superman on the team after all!" Jack sighed with relief.

What pleased him most was that in just half an hour, his friendship with Clark had increased by another five percent.

Meanwhile, the senior team couldn't hide their frustration. Originally, they were supposed to teach the newcomers how to play football, but instead, they found themselves trailing behind, which put a sour expression on their faces.

"I'll focus on blocking Clark and try to get him to the ground, then we can switch to the B formation!" Whitney strategized, recognizing Clark as the core player of the rookie team.

As the game resumed, Jack passed the ball to Little Superman and ran alongside, grateful to get the assist.

Suddenly, Whitney dashed out from the side, aiming for a slide tackle on Clark.

'Now that's someone with guts, daring to challenge Superman like that!' Jack's admiration for Whitney grew.

Clark, dazzled by his recent goals and Lana cheering for him, was caught off guard by Whitney's unexpected move. He couldn't afford to let Whitney touch him, as it would be like colliding with a speeding truck.

What happens when a person collides with a speeding truck?

Their legs would be crushed!

"Oops!"

Clark attempted to maneuver his right foot to evade Whitney's tackle, but in doing so, he lost his balance and began to fall backward.

And who was right behind him?

Jack!

Initially amused by the prospect of witnessing Whitney's mishap, Jack suddenly realized that Clark was falling towards him.

If it were anyone else, Jack might have attempted to help, but this was Clark Kent, the guy nicknamed "Steel Body" who could probably bench press a truck. Who would dare to intervene?

Instinctively, Jack tried to move out of the way, but to no avail. He lacked Superman's reflexes and speed, and all he could do was watch as Little Superman came crashing towards him.

"Big brother, don't come this way!"

That was Jack's last thought before he heard the sickening sound of bones breaking, followed by being sent flying across the field.

It felt like being hit by a speeding car going 122 mph!

"Oh no, Jack!"

"What happened?"

"God, his bones are shattered, call an ambulance! Dial 911!"

Despite still retaining some consciousness, Jack knew that mentioning an ambulance meant expenses, and the prospect of medical bills made him faint on the spot.

This is it, I'm ruined!

What annoyed him the most was missing out on helping Lana with her homework that night!!

When Jack regained consciousness, he found himself lying in a hospital bed in the town ward.

The room wasn't spacious; he occupied the only bed, with sunlight streaming in through the open curtains, casting a warm glow.

"Thank goodness, you're finally awake!"

It was a middle-aged man in a police uniform, with swollen eyes as if he hadn't slept all night.

Jack recognized him; it was his uncle, James Rogers.

As he attempted to move, a wave of excruciating pain shot through Jack's body, prompting James to gently press him down.

"Don't move, the doctor said you've broken three ribs and your right-hand bone. Just rest for now."

"How long have I been out?" Jack felt weak, struggling to speak.

"About an afternoon and a night. Don't worry, I've informed the school, and you're excused from classes," James sighed. "Kent's kids can be so careless..."

Fortunately, injuries during football matches weren't unheard of, and nobody suspected anything unusual about Clark.

"Don't blame him; these things happen in football. I just need to focus on improving my health and fitness," Jack replied, unwilling to lay blame on Clark, partly because it wasn't intentional, and partly because he was counting on that Superman card!

With that, he closed his eyes and consciously entered the system space.

He had hoped that this incident might strengthen his friendship with Clark, but things took a turn for the worse. To his dismay, his friendship with Clark plummeted to 30%.

"That's just great..." Jack's face paled, feeling like he might vomit.

Not only was he hospitalized with severe injuries, but he also missed out on the chance to bond with Lana over homework. And to top it off, his friendship with Little Superman had taken a nosedive.

It was a double whammy!

Trying to rationalize the situation, Jack concluded that Clark, being a responsible person, probably blamed himself internally and felt ashamed, thus resulting in a decrease in their friendship value.

It must be that; surely it wasn't because he found out about Jack's connection with Lana.

James listened to Jack's thoughts, a hint of encouragement in his eyes. "That's the spirit. And oh, a little girl left flowers for you. Seems like she's from the Lang family."

"Yeah, she dropped by last night, and I think the Kents will be here around noon," James added.

Sure enough, footsteps echoed in the corridor, followed by the opening of the ward door. First came a middle-aged couple, then Clark with his head bowed, and Lana holding a bouquet of flowers.

"Sheriff Rogers, I apologize for all the trouble," said the middle-aged man in denim, extending a hand to Jack before turning his attention to him.

These must be Clark's adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent.

Despite her middle age, Martha still exuded charm. She handed Jack a lunchbox and said, "On behalf of Clark, I want to apologize to you. Here's some soup I made; I hope it helps you recover soon."

"Aunt Martha's soup is delicious. I tried a bit earlier, and I'm sure you'll love it too!" Lana chimed in, placing fresh flowers by the bedside and giving Clark a subtle nod, indicating it was his turn.

Clark hesitated, his expression filled with self-blame. It seemed like he regretted having superpowers and just wanted to be a regular high school student, hanging out with friends and playing football together.

"I'm really sorry!"

"Well... can you guys give us a moment? I need to talk to Clark alone," Jack said, addressing the group.

Aunt Martha seemed concerned. "Can't you talk in front of us?"

But Uncle Kent intervened, waving off Martha's concerns. He smiled at Jack. "Sure thing, Jack. Clark, you stay here for a bit. Let's head back!"

With Uncle Kent leading the way, everyone left the ward, leaving Lana pouting. "Why the secrecy? You guys are acting all mysterious."

.

.

.

As everyone stepped out of the room, Clark took a step forward and spoke first:"Whether you wanna chew me out or throw punches, feel free, I won't throw any back."

Jack shot Clark a knowing look and said, "Why would I bust you up or give you a tongue-lashing? C'mon, it's not on you."

"It's on me! If I skip the training, you wouldn't be in this mess."

"Clark, I know you are different!"

Hearing Jack's words, Little Superman's face changed. He stepped back subconsciously and looked at Jack with vigilance. Jack could feel that his friendship with Clark was plummeting.

"Don't be nervous, I didn't mean to expose or threaten you!" Jack quickly stabilized Clark, explaining: "You have a talent, Clark!"

"That's not talent, it's a curse!"

Clark shook his head. He only asked his adoptive father more than once, why he was so different. He just wanted to be an ordinary person.

Talk about an impulsive love and become a football star in the eyes of everyone, instead of always hiding the true self.

A lot of philosophies in life originally had to be taught to him by his father, but Jack opened a pot of fragrant and rich chicken soup for the friendship between the two sides.

"Clark, do you know that you can't choose your own birth, but at least you can choose how to use your talents ... Natural talents will be useful. Do you understand that your talents are not meaningless?"

"I hope you remember one sentence: the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility!"

Sorry, my uncle, I moved your old man's famous saying out and installed B ... Hehe, it's moved out to educate people. I admit that I want to cheat the friendship of Little Superman, but if this sentence can make Little Superman find A little hard work can be considered a good thing.

After hearing this sentence, Little Superman's eyes flashed with a strange expression, and he kept muttering: "The greater the ability, the greater the responsibility ... the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility ..."

It took a while for Clark to digest these words completely. He seemed to have a bit of insight, but still couldn't sum it up.

"Even if my talent is not a curse, my parents will not allow me to use my superpowers." Clark sighed and said.

"I'm not telling you to start using your powers right away, Clark. Just like when you accidentally hit me, it's not your fault that you have these abilities. The real issue is that you haven't fully mastered them yet. The key is, if you can use your powers in a controlled way without causing harm to others, then you've truly mastered your abilities!"

Clark took it for granted that Jack was talking about playing football, he thought carefully and thought that Jack was very reasonable.

If he can detect Whitney's movements more sharply, or if he can dodge fast enough to deal with unexpected situations calmly, then yesterday's events can be completely avoided.

"You're right, I'm ... not ready yet!" Clark glanced at Jack gratefully, and he smiled, smiling from the bottom of his heart.

No more guilt for hurting Jack; no more confusion about being different; although he's still a bit perplexed, he's found a direction. He understands that with great power comes great responsibility, and he can use his talents for a purpose.

I have to say that Jonathan has educated Clark very well. The real charm of Superman does not come from his powerful strength but from his personality charm, universal love, the selfless character.

Without these, the so-called Superman is just a soldier with superpowers, not a hero.

Jack just dialed a little, and the effect was remarkable.

"Ding, increase friendship to friendliness, unlock the Clark Kent character card."

A gorgeous purple burst into Jack's consciousness. At this moment, Jack's heart was so excited, what was hurt, what failed to communicate in-depth, the moment the purple card appeared, everything was worth it!

[Purple Card: Clark Kent (formerly: Karl Eyre)

Race: Kryptonian

Main card effects: Iron Body, Super Strength, Super Speed, Thermal Vision, Perspective Eye, Frozen Breath, Flight (Unlocked), etc.

Additional note: Almighty growth type with unlimited potential! Card levels will increase as individuals grow.]

"The card will still be upgraded? As the Little Superman grows into a real Superman, this character card will also be upgraded! From purple hero card to golden legend card!"

Jack's breath was almost stopped, his heart was beating, and he couldn't wait to get the Little Superman card to his equipment.

"Equip, Superman Card, Whitney get lost!"

The purple card took Whitney's place, and Clark Kent's character card slid into the main slot.

At this moment, boundless power surged through Jack's body. The midday sun streaming into the hospital room made Jack feel like he was embracing the entire world.

The discomfort from the fractured ribs disappeared. In the next moment, there was no pain.

"Wow, just feel good! ~"

Jack leaped out of the hospital bed. This recovery effect for his injuries was even more potent than magic beans.

This sudden burst of energy startled Clark: "Jack, what are you doing, lie down!"

"Some amazing things happened to me ... you see I've healed!"

When Jack was talking, gently raised his wrist, and then held it hard, only listening to the sound of 'click'. The plaster on his arm broke instantly, exposing his fair arms.

Clark didn't speak, but squinted his eyes. He was scanning Jack's arms and ribs with a see-through eye, and asked incredulously: "How can you ... I did see your bones broken yesterday ..."

When he hurt Jack yesterday, he scanned Jack with a fluoroscopy eye, but he didn't see it all night, and the broken bone grew again.

"I see, you also have talent, right Jack, you are the same as me!" Clark asked a little excitedly.

He always thought that being alone was very special, but he found that Jack also had magical phenomena, and his inner excitement was no less than that when Columbus discovered the New World.

This will prove that he is not alone, he has the same kind and a sense of belonging.

As a traveler, Jack understands Clark's feelings, so he doesn't plan to hide them, but says frankly, "Yes, Clark, I have superpowers."

"Is your superpower healing?"

"No, you can understand it as ... copy, Clark, I copied your superpowers."

Jack took into account that the American culture values transparency and dislikes concealment or deception. So, he phrased the existence of the system in a way that aligns with this sentiment. Additionally, he was concerned that Little Superman might not be pleased with the revelation.

Actually, Clark didn't care, but was a little excited: "Cool, so you are also an alien?"

"Oh!"

Jack's mind chuckled. Damn, I'm not just from another planet, I'm not even in your universe. Technically speaking, I'm a parallel alien.

"Where is your spaceship, are you also hiding in the cellar for you?"
