Chapter 230 - The Queen of the ClockTower

Though as if coming to a silent agreement, Lorelei and her brigade didn't purposely break the barrier that had surrounded them and cut them off from the world as it would keep random civilians to see what is happening and thus speed up the process in the loss of 'Mystery' that allows magecraft, a very weakened form of magic, to still exist within this world.

But unfortunately for them we weren't bound to the fact that in this world we no reside within the age of man and the loss of Mystery in the world but our strengths are more akin to magi from the age of the gods from well over three thousand years in the past.

But as this was more for these Magi to see the difference between them and servants, with it being 5 versus 50 I couldn't help but crack my neck, "If they surrender then incapacitate them, if not then you are free to do as you please, I will handle the Queen alone." I said to all of them and within an instant I disappeared before everyone's sight before I reappeared as I was swinging my blade for her head.

But with her years of honed experience dealing with Dead Apostles and Dead Apostle Ancestors she always has her body constantly in a state of reinforcement and thus in a moments notice circuits criss crossed her body with most appearing to activate in her legs and arms to allow her be able to react in time to lift her gauntleted right hand to block the attack.

But her eyes momentarily widened as she was pushed back from the massive force behind my swords swing, causing her to slide across the yard and leaving a trail from her legs before stopping just a meter short of the surrounding barrier.

'Hmm, this might actually be a challenge.' She said with a smile as her eyes shifted from their normal brown to a golden hue.

'Mystic eyes huh? Well since I just got this power why don't I use it for this fight to just piss her off?' I couldn't help but smirk while I activated my Alpha Stigma before we both launched at one another and began to duke it out.

Meanwhile Changling was casting various spells with his staff, specfically launching bluish purple flames, though these flames didn't just burn however as sensing the extreme danger of those flames, those that could would dodge, but a few weren't so lucky.

The flames began to burn them but it didn't just burn them but began to turn there bodies into horrid monstrosity's of bulging flesh, tendrils and jagged teeth, "I do hope you can entertain my newly made chaos spawn humans, your screams of terror do bring me the most wonderful of amusement." The Changling said before the Chaos spawn began to lash out at their former comrades as the people they once were, were no longer there anymore.

And while these Magi brigade weren't on the same level as the Queen of the ClockTower, her Brigade were formed from the best of the best and even though the sight of these two Chaos Spawn the Changling had created would terrify even those of strong will, these men showed no fear and worked in tandem to defeat these mindless monstrosity's.

However there are things that one should know about Chaos Spawn, they have very high physical and Magical Resistances and to top it all off unless you finish them off no matter how horrible the wounds they suffer it won't make them weaker or slow them down, not to mention if they kill anything they will just use the biomass from the dead bodies to regenerate and this can work with one another, so if they only killed one and severely injured the other, it would consume its fallen comrade and be fully healed as a result, from the world the Changling originated these things are the greatest of fodder soldiers.

Meanwhile Akaza, Serenity and Kukulkan were using their fists and techniques to fight off the majority of the brigade of Magi who, while not as great as the Queen, when working in tandem as a single unit were able to mitigate their combined attacks which would be considered impossible but Lorelei's Brigade of 50 high master class Magi were the equivalent of an entire army of Magi that were perfectly in sync with one another and thus made what should be impossible, possible.

But an army of Magi versus a nigh unkillable Demon, a literal God, and one of the greatest Assassins in Human history, even the slightest mistake on any of their parts will prove lethal to these Magi.

But being able to survive for a few minutes shows just how powerful they would be in any normal situation for them, however I wasn't having an easy time as the longer the fight progressed, she would exponentially increase her strength and speed against me.

'How is she pushing me back? I'm trying to keep myself from using any of my non magical abilities as I suspect that 'Old Man' is viewing this whole battle' I couldn't help but think while I kept trying to keep matching her speed and strength only for a moment later she would increase in speed and strength.

She tried to unleash close range magic attacks at me, but as soon as they even began to form, the ether that Magi use to preform their magecraft would instantly dissipate and the spell would never form thanks to the Alpha Stigma.

"Ahh, so that's what it is, it's not enhancement that you casted upon yourself, it's your mystic eyes isn't it?" I said after the Alpha Stigma had finally analyzed her body after our battle had begun not more than thirty minutes ago.

Her mystic eyes made it so that her magical output, speed and strength would always out perform the opponent she was focused on in combat, but as my Alpha Stigma kept nullifying her magic completely only her speed and strength were being visibly shown to me with her out pacing and overpowering me as I am.

Though if I didn't care about showing all my cards I could end this in a snap, but since it's best to keep some thing hidden I will just do 'that' move then.

"Alright Ms. Barthomeloi, since you seem very confident with those eyes of yours, I hope you can keep up even when I get serious." I say as I quickly returned Yamato to my sheath and entered a low crouching stance.

Alarm bells began to ring in her head as she felt for one of the few times in her life, life threatening danger, so she crossed her arms and changed the parameters and combined the magic prowess, speed and strength she was copying all into physical defense.

Being unable to even perceive my physical movements all she could do was reinforce her body with all the ether she could gather to protect her vitals, but even then deep cuts began to appear all across her body and nearly reaching bone deep in some places.

I the reappeared behind her and slowly slid my blade back into its sheath and-

Attacks that seemed to have left cuts in space also cut at her again and making the wounds across her body worse as she coughed up blood and fell to the ground.

"You know I am genuinely surprised you survived my Judgement Cut, but it seems you have no strength to continue, and you know I hate to leave problems that could annoy me and possibly harm I care for alone so…." I say as I walk up to her and pressed my thumb on the hilt of Yamato.

*CLINK*

"You need to die." I said with a rather decisive tone in my voice but-

*CLINK*

"My, I hope you don't mind me asking for you to let her live now do you young man?" An elderly man's voice rang out right beside me as Yamato was forced back into its sheath.

A bead of sweat went down the side of my head as I felt no spatial fluctuations or any disturbances of any kind when this man suddenly appeared.

But I calmed down and took a deep breath before turning my head to look at the old man besides me, "To what do I owe the pleasure of the Wizard Marshal of the ClockTower coming to my humble abode this fine day, minus the obvious of course." I said trying to diffuse tension in the air as this man, for all intents and purposes, is unkillable in any way shape or form.

Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg, the main face of the ClockTower and its acting leader for the most part was standing right beside me as his blood red eyes gleamed while he stared at me, no not at me but possibly even through me.

"Oh nothing much young lad, just want to talk to the main reason why this reality is so different from all the other ones in the first place." He said with a gentle and grandfatherly smile on his face.

And of course he would know that this reality is so far flung off from the main timeline he would like to know why it even exists in the first place.

And so he came to what he believed to be the source of it all, me.
