Chapter 7 - SEVEN: A STRANGE PLACE(2)

"Sky? Hassan?" I called out in a whisper.

I didn't know why and how we got there but one can never be too careful. I wasn't going to alert our captors or saviors till I got a grip on what our situation was.

Waiting for a moment for a response I paused even my breathing as if it would distract my hearing... But I heard nothing, so I had to continue looking through the wooden carts.

The strange thing about these pieces of wooly clothing was that you couldn't tell what they covered till you lifted them. Their appearance just gave a single texture; a wooly appearance.

But even that wasn't enough to tell how heavy they were or reveal their true textures or the materials they were made with.

The next cart had the usual wooly piece of clothing covering but it wasn't different from the one I was covered with. Lifting it I had hoped that it was Sky and Hassan beneath the covering. But it wasn't.

The only thing that held me from falling to the ground in absolute repulsion from what my eyes beheld was the fact that getting back up would be so troublesome.

Lying on the cart was something incredibly horrifying. Its upper part was a human torso with human limbs, a face, and a neck. The upper half looked human but the remaining part of its body had four legs.

It looked as if one crazed scientist cut off a human's upper body and attached it to the body of a horse.

My heart was racing and I could feel something rush from my gut into my mouth. Bending to the side I let the gut contents rush out of my mouth in a jet stream.

It was hard trying not to be loud as I coughed and coughed ... It didn't seem like I was going to stop vomiting any time soon.

My mind was trying to make sense of what I had just beheld.

Its eyes were open and its cold sky blue eyes stared at me like it wasn't conscious. Its body was still like it was frozen and its upper body was pale white like it had its blood drained from it.

Looking at its torso I shivered at how similar to a human's: Two nipples at the far opposite ends of the chest and a belly button that was placed in the middle of the belly.

But also, no matter how terrifying and weird this creature looked it still lay helplessly in that wooden cart.

I was almost tempted to lean closer to listen to heartbeats in search of evidence of it being alive but my fear stopped me. The flight or fight response was all time high and I couldn't get myself to lose my guard.

Who knew if the creature would leap up and do some harm while I was checking if it was alive?

That made me even weary of our captor or savior...

As I went through the carts it started to seem more like the former than the latter. How much more terrifying was this person or creature that held this half-horse captive?

I didn't need to ask any longer when the door near the wooden cart I crawled out from was opened. The door was the normal height but what passed through it was twice the size of the doorway.

It seemed as though it was an intruder.

It had two horns that extended from the back of its head to divide into two more curved parts that were pointy at their ends threatening to tear anything that comes in contact with it.

It was another creature that was worse than the half-horse in many ways. It was furry all through, from head to its tapered end.

Beneath its huge horn, there were two miniature ones that were less terrifying and blunt with holes in them. They almost looked like flutes.

In between the huge and miniature horns were two protrusions located also on both sides of the creature's skull. It almost looked like its ears but I couldn't be sure... There was nothing to be sure of because nothing made sense.

The hands were almost as large as its body; they hung a few centimeters from its tail which hovered above the ground.

Immediately it got to pass through the doorway it de-materialized, losing its form and solid nature to turn into something as fluid as the air.

It phased through the door and almost immediately its fluidity changed to solidness revealing its large arm muscles which were bare and devoid of any skin.

Its forearm had no muscles or skin covering so its big bones were out in the open with fur covering the middle part of its posterior arm.

Frozen in a spot with terror crippling every muscle I could use to run or do anything. Was there anything I could do to this horrifying creature with scaly hands that had long sharp claws that could probably tear through me before I could even blink?

It growled as it hovered towards me with a speed so fast that my eyes could barely follow its movements.

Just then as it was about to reach where I stood glued to the flaw by fear and terror a familiar light popped up in front of me, hovering like it usually did. It said this:

PASSIVE SKILL: Mind transfer

CURRENT LEVEL: 0

Upgrade to the next level.

'What am I supposed to do with this information?'

I couldn't make sense of the message that popped up in front of me before I found myself back in the vast darkness.

Just like last time I was there I was gone as fast as I had appeared, making me doubt again that I was ever there.

'What is going on?' I thought as I glared at my body laying motionlessly next to the cart with the half-horse in it.

Once again I was in a monster's body ...

'Mind transfer?' It had appeared swiftly when I was getting attacked by the terrifying creature.

Then I was seeing the world from the eyes of a terrifying creature. It was different from when I was seeing the world from the eyes of the crazed lady from earlier.

The crazed lady had murder and chaos burning from right within her but this creature had a more subtle aura that seemed primal: the confidence of something that was on the top of a food chain.

'How do I lift my real body without clawing into it?'

Ever since everything weird had started to happen I learned about one thing 'Delay is dangerous '

No matter how insane everything was just keep on moving. However, that was impossible to do given that I was halfway on my way to losing my right leg if I didn't have it treated.
