Yuchen's curiosity about Vermouth's silence had grown into a gnawing concern. He was intimately familiar with Vermouth's cunning, and her unexpected stillness was as disconcerting as the eerie calm before a storm.
"I've been watching her all this time, Capo," Ian reported, his expression clouded with worry. "But it's strange. She seemed to be searching for you initially, but she hasn't made any significant moves, even though I'm sure she knows you're not around."
Yuchen's eyes narrowed, suspicion evident in those black eyes. Vermouth was not a woman who would keep quiet, especially after she disturbed his business a little at that time. Yuchen was sure that the bitch was planning something to get back at him.
But, three months have passed and Vermouth hasn't done anything at all. Yuchen knew that Vermouth would not just let it go. So, this calm was quite unsettling for him, it felt like the calm before the coming storm.
