Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Humans will all perish!

(When I move, the entire world seems to move in slow motion.)

The commander who had watched Justin kill the goblins the previous night, was also in the scene. It was incredible how Justin swung his sword effortlessly and his aura… it was truly remarkable.

"Just yesterday, it seemed he didn't know how to use a sword seeing as how he clumsily swing that pole but today, he looks like a pro." The commander said.

"Commander, we have a few men down." One of the guards reported but found the commander staring at Justin in awe. "He's wonderful, isn't he?"

"He's the one who killed the goblins last night." He said and the guards eyes shot wide open.

"What?!" He exclaimed. "He's that person? Commander, you have to get this guy on our side!"

The commander turned to him.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, we can't let a talent like him get poached by the second knight order. We have to sang him first." The guard said and the commander shifted his gaze to Justin once more.

"As what if he already has a side he's on?" He asked, rendering the guard speechless.

"Then, that would be too bad."

They didn't even know what his real identity was yet they were already thinking of asking him over to their side.

Humans were so fickle.

As long as you show your worth and they see that you're worth something, no matter who you are, they'll take you on.

Justin lept up from the ground and pierced his sword into the head of an orc. These orcs were lower than manticores but they were still high level.

With a push with his leg, he withdrew his sword and landed back on the ground, firmly on his two feet.

There was another orc coming from behind with a spiked club, ready to bash Justin to the ground but it missed and all Justin did was step aside.

'Seriously, I'm at a great advantage because it seems they're all moving in slow motion. Is it because I heightened my speed?' he thought and glared at the orc.

Before it knew it, Justin had gotten high into the sky and set his sword to stab his head. Attacking their head was the quickest way to end things.

He jumped off the orc and landed on the ground effortlessly.

"Now, who's next?" He turned and for the second time, he felt the terror seeping into his bones.

The headless horseman was staring at him with eyes he did not have.

'This shit.' Justin tried to get his act together and finally lifted his head. The headless horseman was definitely the mastermind.

"Master, behind you!" Attica warned and he glanced back to see a manticore charging for him with his horns up front.

"I'm getting impatient!" He dropped the top of his sword on the ground and sat like he was getting ready to strike a ball in a baseball match.

As soon as the manticore drew near, he swung his sword and split him in half.

The adventurers and knights that seemed to be wounded suddenly cheered and Justin turned in shock. When did they become spectators?

"Master, it seems you're done with the demons and the people are relaxed." Attica announced and Justin took a look around.

There were no demons standing and all were down in heeps. All the demons were dead and the last one standing was the headless horseman.

Once again, the headless horseman tried to instil fear in Justin but it wasn't going to get him off guard.

Before the horseman knew it, Justin was right next to him, ready to strike with his sword but the horseman lifted his hand and a mighty force knocked Justin down to the ground, hard.

"Gah!" Justin spat out blood. The pressure was too great.

"@#$#&#" the horseman spoke and Justin finally knew where his head was. His head was hanging by a rope that was tied round his waist and it was a skull.

'What… is he … saying?'

"Master, you have to fight it. He'll kill you." Attica said but that wasn't really helping.

There was a dark aura surrounding the skull and it's bones cracked.

"#$@$$"

(Ding!)

"Humans will all perish!" Justin heard it say in a hoarse voice. "Feel the might of the gatekeeper!"

The pressure pressing down on Justin increased.

The people couldn't just stand and watch but they couldn't do anything either. No one was bold enough to risk their lives for an impossible job.

"Die!" He crushed his hand into a fist but surprisingly, nothing happened.

Justin rose slowly, fighting the pressure that was breaking his bones and pressing his entire being down.

"I'm not… done … yet!" He looked up. The pressure was wrapping his clothes and leaving him with cuts. "So, I can actually rival you."

He was using his strength and stamina to it's maximum and this was the result.

"You… you are not human!" The headless horseman spoke in a surprised tone.

"Heh, and neither are you." Justin got his sword and his entire body caught on fire. He was ready to release that same monstrous aura he released at the backyard. "I don't have plans to die just yet." He said and set his sword, ready to swing. "I've got sisters to take care of and I wanna buy a cat as well. I don't mind killing you and a bunch of other demons to get to that goal so," his eyes burned. "Go to hell!"

In one swing, his aura transformed into a blade.

"How is this possible?" The headless horseman exclaimed as it braced it's demise.

This shot destroyed all that was in its path but since the gate was so huge, it took most of the damage.

Justin let out a sigh of relief and looked up. The sky was grey. He turned to the people and their eyes widened in shock.

"Wait, isn't that the scum?" Someone asked and then Justin realized, his cloak had been destroyed and his face was exposed.

Justin touched his face.

"Damn!" He exclaimed. What were they going to think of him now?

But before he had time to worry about that, he slowly lost his consciousness and fainted.
