Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: I love this cloak!

Hearing the system say this, Justin couldn't help but sneer.

'That's bull talk! What part of me is worthy?'

"It's done!" The analyzer announced.

He was a bit conscious seeing Justin's displeased sneer so he felt nervous.

Justin came out of his conversation with the system and looked at the analyzer.

"So, how much is it?" He asked, acting nonchalant.

"It's a total of 12,099 gold coins!" Hearing this, Justin's eyes sparkled but they couldn't see it.

Nevertheless, he acted calmly about it.

"Alright!" He said with a light nod.

'Based on his reaction, this much isn't close to what he usually earns.' the guild master thought. 'Well, it's expected from someone who can get this many magic beast cores effortlessly? What was I thinking about trying to recruit such a powerful person?'

Hak and Justin's thoughts were completely opposite and while he thought Justin was a highly esteemed person, Justin kept dancing in his thoughts.

'Twelve thousand! That's a lot. I wonder how much I'll get if I sell out the rest of the beast cores in my hands.' he thought, feeling elated. "Come to think of it," he took out the fangs from his pack and dropped it on the table. "Can you make a suitable weapon out of these?"

The guild master and the analyzer had their eyes popping out of their eyeballs when they saw the fangs.

"This… these are… "

"Aren't these the fangs of a black sabertooth?" Emily asked, entering the room without prior notice.

"Uh, yeah!" Justin nodded.

"Did you kill it on your own or you had a subjugation party?"

"On my own! Is there a problem?"

The analyzer, who was also a weapon forger, scanned the fangs with admiration in his eyes.

"I've only once been able to set my eyes on these!" He said. "This is a real treasure. It's very uncommon to see black sabertooths and they're very powerful!"

'Yeah, I shouldn't tell them I killed it with a hammer!' Justin concluded in his thoughts.

"What is your weapon preference?" The analyzer asked.

"Well, maybe two daggers. I find them convenient!" Justin said and he nodded.

"I'll get right on it." He kept the fangs safely in his space pouch and bowed. "By the way, I'd like to introduce myself. I am Calisto!"

"Alright, Calisto! I'm leaving the forging of my weapon into your hands." Justin said and got up. "If you so dare as to steal it and run away, I will find you and end you with my bare hands!" He threatened, not minding his image.

Calisto shivered in his boot and bowed once more.

"I swear, I will not steal from the lord!" He pledged.

"I'll listen to you for now. When will you be done making my weapon?" Justin asked as he accepted from Emily, the pouch that had his money.

"In a week!"

"Then, I'm counting on you! I'll be over here in a week. Make sure it's done!"

"Yes sir!"

Justin headed for the door and coolly walked out. None of them stopped him and Emily turned to the guild master.

"Is it really okay to let him go, father?" Emily asked, looking worried.

"We can't exactly force him into it either, Emily." Hak responded. "Don't worry! I believe the right man for the job will come around soon!"

As Justin walked out of the guild master's office, the adventurers gave him the glares and we're busy sizing him up but none of them dared to approach him while they were in the guild building.

"I got 12,099 gold coins with ease. Who knew life could be so easy?" Justin asked with a little smirk. He looked at the pouch in his hand. "Anyway, who needs a pouch when you have a system inventory that holds almost an entire building?"

He put the pouch in the inventory and kept walking.

It was strange. He had never walked the streets so peacefully in his life. There was no one glaring at him. No one was guarding against him either and the city guards walked past him without giving him the chase.

"I love this cloak!" He exclaimed.

(Now do you see why it's important to live a good life?)

The system asked and he twisted his lips.

"I'm already a rogue. What's there to living like a good person?" He asked.

He stumbled on a crowd gathered in front of the announcement board and they looked really cheerful.

"What's that? Did the empire agree to give out free gold coins to all the houses?"

He went closer and saw that an announcement had been posted by the king as well as the temple.

"Is the temple still active? I thought it had become an abandoned house."

(Warning! Blasphemy against the house of the gods can provoke the system's punishment!)

The system warned and he narrowed his eyes.

'I was just saying!'

The announcement had to do with the appearance of a holy man who had been chosen by the gods.

"A holy man has been chosen to eradicate evil and… we're done here!" Uninterested by the news, Justin walked away.

What did he care if a holy man had been chosen? But it sounded oddly familiar! Gods chosen, huh?

He walked towards a back alley and there he stood.

"Alright! I think this is a safe place for a fight!" He glanced over his shoulder with a smirk. "You've been following me since I left the guild hall. You might as well come out while I'm asking nicely, don't you think?"

A number of adventurers surfaced from their hiding spot and grinned menacingly.

"Hm, how many of you are there?" Justin asked and began counting. "One, two, three, seven? I'm sorry, I don't know how to count so I guess I'll just beat you all. I've been dying to hit someone anyway." He said with a simple shrug.

"Hey, we know you got a big loot from the guild and you're not even an adventurer. You better give it up while we're asking nicely!" The big guy from earlier threatened.

"And I thought they said adventurers are upright people who protect the civilians from magic beasts." Justin said and gave out a disappointed sigh. "This is why I said humans are wasted."

"Quit talking rubbish and hand it over. There's so many of us and one of you." He looked smug saying this and stepped forward. "You know, we also want to know that face that's hiding under that shadow. It looks like you want to hide your identity. Why don't you give up the loot nicely and we'll go our separate ways without checking out that face that's behind."

Justin took one good look at him and grinned.

"System, I won't get any punishment for beating these guys up, right?" He asked while cracking his knuckles.

(The gods support your decision to set right the wrong souls!)

"Haha, when you put it like that, how can I refuse?"

"What are you saying? Are you a psycho or…?" Before he knew it, Justin's fist landed hard on his face, smashing his nose and everything in his face.

That punch got him flying to the end of the alley and Justin smirked with his smoking fist.

"That's one. How many left?"
