Chapter 7 - Uncharted desert

Alan was tired from continuous trips and fights, and so he decided to spend a couple of days at the village. The villagers were happy, having their hero with them. And in one of those nights, he received news that a man had come here asking for help. He belonged to the Alzuhar tribe, who lives west of the village. It is a vast desert, with almost no scopes for growing crops. The land is so harsh and barren that they often have to march long paths on their camels to get water. But it's their ancestral home, and they were not willing to change it, no matter the conditions. It was their home for the two centuries, and they would rather die there than go elsewhere.

The man was actually a village priest, and he had come to this village asking for their help. There was a demoness who was wrecking havoc at their village. The man ran off after escaping from her hands to seek help, and he eventually reached this village and wanted anyone who could save his village from the hands of an evil demoness. But after coming to this village he heard about Alan and his bravery. And so he immediately seeked his help. Alan, being a noble guy, agreed to his request.

According to his story , there were a couple in their village who didn't have any family. They were hardworking and kind, but life was unfair to them. They tried a lot but never had any children. Which is why they were sad and restless. One day, the wife came across a lady who could do black magic. The woman introduced her to black magic rituals, and she decided to use the knowledge of black magic to have a child.

After nine months, a baby girl with blue eyes was born. The parents welcomed their little girl with divine love. They named her Zulara. She was a beautiful girl with reddish-brown hair and an energetic personality. The couple were so happy for their daughter that they decorated their house for her and invited the whole village to have a feast. But the trouble was about to begin..

As days passed, the couple began to witness strange events. Their food supplies were running out quickly, and their chickens were somehow going missing. The parents consistently restocked their food, but the more they bought, the less they had. Meanwhile, the girl continued to grow at an alarming rare, and her appetite grew as well. She was getting more aggressive and short tempered with each passing year.

And, one night, when the wife woke up after hearing strange noises, she found her daughter eating raw chicken, which she hunted on her own. She was only 5 years old, but she began to prey on live animals. Once the couple got to know what she was, the couple tried to get rid of her, but the couple vanished from the village without any idea regrading their whereabouts.

She ate and ate. Nothing ever satisfied her. She feasted on animals and humans, anyone unfortunate enough to cross her, and soon enough, she was all alone in an empty, bloody, quiet town. Now she preys on anyone unlucky enough to cross her.For which no one leaves village. But water is scarce in their village, and so he needed someone to get rid of the demoness, and upon his arrival, he was acknowledged about Alan and his fight against the Dullahan.

And so Alan and the man started their journey back to their village. They marched through the scorching sun and through rough terrains, which as times were so stiff that on couple of occasions Alan fell down from his steed. The man, however, was accustomed to the rough terrains, as he was a local, and without much effort, he was able to cross the path. The closer they were getting to the village, the land was getting more barren, and it led them to a desert.

With no source of water in sight, our only hope was a small watering which we dug up, but Therein lies the problem. That's where the demoness resides. Each night she comes back and hunts anyone she sees, which is why we used tobiffer her animals, but now we are left with no choice, but to venture out, since we don't have any cattle left for offering, a few days ago, she attacked and killed one of our residents and so I escaped the village to seek help, said the man.

As Alan ventured deeper, the desert seemed to get more harsh and twisted. Finally, he reached the watering hole. There was complete silence, and all of a sudden, the man screamed, saying there!

Alan turned his head to see an unfamiliar creature standing. Her eyes glowed with a sinister light, and her voice echoed like a chilling whisper. But before realising what to do, the demoness jumped in front of him and attacked Alan. Alan dodged the attack, but she took hold of the man. Alan remembered he had the arrows given by the old wizard, and while the demoness was trying to take the man away, Alan shot one arrow at her. And immediately, she was in flames. But the fire from the magical arrows wasn't going to kill her, so Alan drew his sword, ready to face the demoness head-on.

The battle that ensued was fierce. The demoness attacked Alan and took a bite of his arm, but Ala kept on fighting. There was blood on both sides, but neither of them was going down that easily. And then, after a strike at her abdomen, she was left bleeding into the sand, and seeing the perfect opportunity, Alan let one final blow to her head. With a large agonising growl that followed, she was left dead and bled put into the sand.

But the man was already badly injured, he died and Alan took the deceased body of the man and reached his village. The villagers heard the growl of the demoness and were waiting outside and were equally sad and happy. On one hand, they were saved from the hands of the demoness, but on the other, they lost one of their own. The villagers treated Alan's wounds and buried the dead man.

Alan was still far away from home, not knowing which direction to continue, and so with the aid of the villagers, he decided to travel further into the west to find the coastline. According to the villagers, there's a sea tribe living out there, and they could know where Alan's home continent is.
