Ember and Adrien watched Aunt walk away, and Ember said, "Hey, so now you know why I haven't been contacting you this whole week."
"Deciding our future together," Adrien muttered, audible enough for Ember to hear. She patted Adrien's head, saying, "Why are you in a daze again? And why are you talking about a future together?"
"Actually, sorry. I've been thinking about something else for a while," Adrien replied. Ember, realizing what he meant, continued after the realization, "I told you that doesn't matter. What I said that time, I've already forgotten about it." She gave a bitter smile, hoping to ease Adrien's discomfort.
"Okay," Adrien replied, not entirely satisfying Ember. To end the conversation on a positive note, she teased him, "Hey, Adrien, what do you mean by 'I sleep with all over the books in your room, and everything in your room is just like a mess'? Did you come to my home when I was sleeping?" Ember stared at Adrien with a challenging eye contact. Adrien pulled back a little, acting innocent. "Okay, okay. Actually, I'm coming here from your house, so isn't it that I see it on my way here? And I'll tell you, I don't come to your house when you fall asleep," he said, shaking his head.
Ember burst into laughter, seeing Adrien's cute expression. In the end, they both laughed together and walked towards Ember's home. While walking, Ember shared, "Adrien, I think I'm going to be busy again, and I'll be free only after clearing the finals of higher secondary school, which are going to be held next year in March. So, I don't think I'll have time to contact you. Don't have weird thoughts about me getting angry with you."
Ember continued, muttering, "If it's possible, you can contact me." Adrien looked at her, but she wasn't facing him. He said, "I'll come to you every time I miss you, but promise me you'll allow me to call you."
Ember nodded in agreement, and they made a pinky swear to each other. They bid goodbye, and Adrien vanished again, like a light. Ember headed back to her room but realized she had forgotten to tell Adrien about the necklace she lost. "Sigh," Ember took a deep breath, opened the door, and muttered, "What?" She noticed her room was clean again, which had become messy in the morning. She went to her mother and said, "Hey, Mom, thank you for cleaning my room twice." Her mother replied, "You're welcome, but I don't think I cleaned your room in the past few days."
"Okay, I think I cleaned it and forgot," Ember said. Her mother invited her to sit for a while, expressing concern about her excessive studying. They talked and watched a movie together. Later, her father and brother returned from grocery shopping, and they all enjoyed dinner together. As it got late, they all went to their respective rooms, saying, "Good night."
Ember, returning to her room, wondered who had cleaned it twice. Then, she noticed the necklace she had been looking for on the power table, placed on the jewelry book. When she took it in her hand, she found a note. It read, "Hey Ember, you're getting too silly these days. You make such a mess in your room. Don't apologize for what you didn't do. You treasure my gift with all your heart, but I'm requesting you to wear it only when you want to talk to me. You'll get more hurt on your neck if you sleep wearing it. I'm the one who took it off and placed it here, but you didn't find it in the jewelry book, did you? And lastly, you're doing your best in studying. Don't pressure yourself. Yours sincerely, Best Friend, Mr. Scientist."
