The announcer steps up on the stage and looking slightly confused began his speech "Due to the overwhelming change of contestants dropouts, the guild master has decided to shorten this year's exhibition and intensify the excitement even further and hence we will now modify and increase the challenge difficulty." Creating a standing ovation in the crowd.
"We have witnessed your ability to hunt! Now we will witness your ability to survive harsh and unforgiving climates and environments."
"All 10 will be teleported to randomly assigned areas in the world with randomly assigned difficulties. This may be unfair to some, but luck plays a vital role in being an adventurer as well. Good luck budding adventurers."
"All these rookies will be given teleportation chips and monitored closely, the moment one's life is in danger with very low health or if the contestants deem it too dangerous, they can break the chip on their own forfeiting the competition."
"First up our last place holder Penelope the mercenary will be teleported." as Penelope gleefully waved at the crowd basking in pride and confidence before instantly vanishing.
"Alright next we have Pythia the oracle, let's see if she can really see the future..." halfway announcing, the center of the stage triggered an instant teleportation.
It was Penelope on the ground, writhing and having a seizure, with stumps where all her arms and legs used to be, spurting an insane amount of blood. The audience fell silent with many fainting and vomiting at the horrid sight of a limbless torso bleeding out.
The magicube display loading a playback of her experience on screen, immediately after teleportation she was thrown into a land of ice and heavy blizzard. Shortly as she trudged in the heavy snow, she was surrounded by superior class Demon Arctic Monkeys small in size.
She drew her short sword but severely underestimated the monster's quantity, by easily managing to kill 3 Demon Artic Monkey, the rest unified and began overwhelming her tearing her armor, then ripping her clothes to almost nothing to shield against the cold.
Penelope fumbled with the teleportation chip and was getting frost bitten all over her bare-naked body, barely able to move her fingers without any protection against the cold winds. That's when over 50 Demon Arctic Monkey began taking bites out of her and ripping her limbs off, one large one even humping her from the back. Mind broken and body completely destroyed and in shock as the coin activated moments before her death.
Guild healers began their work on helping her recover as soon as they could. With the Guild master rising from his seat and spoke to the arena, "This is the harsh reality of the outside world beyond the safety of the town of Andros, low leveled superior monsters that could have been easily killed in the hundreds by someone with Penelope's skills means nothing when they use their intelligence, cunning wit and guile."
"Take this as a warning to the next rookie adventurer setting off, to never let your guard down and plan for the fastest way to dispatch your opponent before they figure out a way to deal with you."
Murmurs began in the crowd, as in the past 300 years of Exhibition no one rookie had been so horribly mutilated.
Pythia the oracle proceeds to walk to the teleportation circle, her elder staff at its end adorned with a large magicube ore inscribed with an Elder class sigil. She slammed the staff into the ground causing a minor shockwave infused with fire magic, as the heat waves make its way to the audience this show of power held the audience's unwavering attention.
Cheers and smiles to the crowd and gave an assurance to the crowd before teleporting. On screen Pythia was being observed live instead of retrieving footage after, as the guild began to worry and could make a judgement call if she should be teleported back to avoid a second tragedy.
Although it also means that with this enhanced supervision, not all remaining 8 could be teleported at once and had to go in turns.
Despite what many think, the outside although considered to be the wildlands, has a designated system in place in every area, where only a set monster type and quantity would spawn. Once all has been slain in the area, it becomes a safe haven for 48 hours before the next respawn.
Hence the organizers of the exhibition placed teleportation sigils in these areas as testing grounds fully knowing that upon successful completion of an area, they would be transported back.
This system of monsters and respawning at designated areas is the true purpose of the adventurers. Which is to explore the world of the unknown and mark and scribe the different levels of danger in each area. However, this system only applies to monster that are set to spawn from superior class up to ancient class monsters.
Legendary class monsters are not bound to areas and are rare with limited numbers in the hundreds, the same can be said for God class monsters being believed to less than 10 in the world. Overlords are a myth as none had been seen in this world, but few believe they exist out there, most strongly believing the demon lord on the other side of the world and the true hero born on this to be the only ones who can achieve overlord class.
As Pythia roamed the dark dungeon, with an illuminated Magicube staff she soon reached the end of the dungeon. This triggered the rocks to fall and close off the area behind her sealing her in with an Elder class Dungeon Troll with 3 smaller superior class Dungeon Troll. Casting "Orbs of light" dispersing light to every corner of the room to ensure maximum visibility.
With a cautious step back she began chanting, the elder Insignia inscribed on her staff glowed with power. Elder class Insignias are able to cast Mid-level spells ranging its damage from 1000-2000. So, in essence these foes do not pose any issues.
She casted her area of effect spell "Sea of flames Magic - Fire Purge!" as a wave of flames erupted from her staff drowning the trolls instantly killing the 3 superior trolls, but only leaving moderate burns on the Elder Troll.

Assessing the enemy, while keeping a large safety distance Pythia continuously threw more Heavy fire magic "Artillery magic - Azimuth!" Large rounds of firebombs rained on the Elder troll (-1000HP). With significant bodily damage increasing, the Elder troll who is simply too far to inflict damage tanked the spell and triggered its skill and began eating the rocks on the ground to heal. (+200HP)
"Almost there...just 600HP left, another round of artillery magic should end it". Preparing another round of artillery magic the fire around her magicube staff started sputtering unable to keep its form, while the Elder troll frantically ate more stones (+200HP).
"What's going on why can't I cast my magic?" Suddenly feeling more lethargic and lightheaded Pythia started gasping for air unable to breathe. It became clear that the dungeon monster encounter closes the place airtight and using fire magic constantly rapidly burned off all available oxygen in the space.
Seeing the struggling Pythia foaming at the mouth crawling on the ground the Elder troll leaped towards her and snatched the staff off the ground. Goring her with own staff through the spine several times.
The Elder troll then grabbed her with one of its massive hands and with the other hand skewered her from the butt through to the neck. In that moment, the teleportation coin activated, and she was transported back.
