Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Opening the Storage Chest

Luke tried his best to appear harmless.

The security guard, however, couldn't afford to be lax.

A lone elf running into the warehouse district in the dead of night? It didn't make sense, especially considering this was Cape District, where beautiful female elves were highly sought after.

"Captain Ron is resting. If you need to see him, please come back during the day," the guard said cautiously.

Luke knew it wasn't appropriate to come so late, but he didn't have time tomorrow. He had to welcome the chief inspector of the Cape District Intelligence Bureau and meet his subordinates afterward.

I probably won't have time.

"I have something very important with Ron that I must take tonight. Please take me to see him!" Luke insisted.

The security guard was unsure how to proceed.

After all, those who made a living in the harbor area had some connection to smuggling. While Ron wasn't asleep and was instead delivering goods to a customer in the warehouse, this elf might be here for a pickup as well.

But why hadn't Captain Ron mentioned it?

Since he couldn't determine the situation, he decided to inform Captain Ron and let him decide whether or not to see this elf.

"You wait here. I'll go and ask Captain Ron," the guard said, retreating to the guard post, waking up his colleague on duty, and then heading towards the depths of the warehouse.

Luke patiently waited outside the warehouse gates.

She was currently at level 60; she didn't have time to waste here.

After about fifteen minutes, Ron appeared with a dozen warehouse guards.

Ron was burly, with a large belly and short legs, resembling a swaying mountain of flesh. His right eye had been modified into a lens with adjustable zoom capabilities. In the holster on his belt, a boomerang was tucked, while his left hand was exaggeratedly large, indicating some extraordinary abilities.

Among the guards, only three appeared normal humans, while the others had various physical modifications.

Ron approached Luke, sizing up the exquisite female elf with lustful eyes.

"Little elf, I heard you were looking for me? You mentioned having something with me..." Ron slowly approached Luke, his massive belly pressing forward like a wall.

Luke had already realized the ill intent of the other party and quietly activated a skill.

A cool breeze swept by, and under the influence of the Constellation of Stars, the moisture in the surroundings gradually intensified.

As Ron pressed closer, Luke slowly retreated, but still held on to a trial-like mentality. "Open my storage chest."

No response...

Ron continued to advance, finding the helpless look on the elf's face incredibly exciting.

"What did you say? Little elf... Can't you remember what you left with me?" Ron's face twisted into a smile.

A light rain started to fall.

Being a coastal area, nights with rain were common, so no one paid attention to the abnormality of the rain. Everyone's attention was fixed on the elf.

She was too beautiful, as if she didn't belong to this world.

Facing Ron's encroachment, Luke continued to restrain herself and said, "I need White Dragon Ridge, Misty Crystals, Navelin Tear Pearls, Beyond Shore Wood, and Moonflower Nectar..."

Ron chuckled, "Sure, I have all those things in my room. Come with me, and I'll get them for you."

At that moment, someone agilely jumped down from above and said to Ron, "Captain! No one else is around, just her."

Ron's smile grew wider.

At this point, Luke was certain that the warehouse's functions must have been disabled.

"Captain Ron, it seems I made a mistake. You can go back and rest. Sorry for the disturbance..."

Since the subordinate sent out came back saying there was no ambush nearby, Ron no longer needed to put on an act. The fat on his face twisted into a grimace.

"Little elf, you've lost your way and your mind. Do you really think I would have those things you mentioned? If I did, would I still be guarding the warehouse here?"

"Follow me honestly, and I'll find you a wealthy aristocrat to be your master."

...

Ron stopped his forward steps because he saw the elf drawing two curved blades from her waist, assuming a stance ready for an attack.

Luke, towering over Ron, who was much shorter, said, "Ron, this is a misunderstanding, and I don't think you'd want bloodshed tonight."

Ron realized that the elf in front of him might not be as simple as he had imagined.

But he couldn't let her go either.

A rare beauty like her, pursued by noble lords, could definitely fetch a sky-high price.

"This indeed was a misunderstanding. I was just joking with you," Ron said, slowly stepping back. At the same time, he placed his large left hand behind his back, gesturing to his subordinates, and tried to placate the elf before him. "I'm also concerned for your safety. After all, Cape District at night is very dangerous. I sincerely invite you to rest in our warehouse and leave when it's daylight."

"No need..."

Luke's words were interrupted as Ron swung his massive fist forward.

The fist carried a fierce punch, breaking through the raindrops and charging toward Luke.

At the same time, he pulled a boomerang from the holster at his waist and threw it, the boomerang cutting through the air and flying towards Luke.

Other warehouse guards rushed forward, intending to capture this extraordinary elf in one fell swoop.

However, at that moment, an array of frost flowers composed of countless mists suddenly appeared in mid-air, blooming one after another.

The temperature plummeted as the mist flowers appeared, turning raindrops into ice crystals. The ground, soaked by the rain, instantly froze.

The guards' clothes froze, becoming stiff, and the soles of their shoes stuck to the icy ground.

Their movements stiffened due to the freezing cold, their exhaled breath turning into white mist...

As Luke had glimpsed the disgusting look on Ron's face, she knew a battle was inevitable. She immediately unleashed the Ice Dance Garden, complemented by the moisture and rain brought by Aquarius, creating an extremely dominating freezing effect.

Luke sidestepped, evading the fist wind unleashed by Ron, and sliced through the incoming boomerang.

Then, she swiftly moved to the side of one of the guards, cutting his throat. Hot blood sprayed out but turned into icy blood splinters in mid-air. The wound quickly froze, and the guard held his pose, awaiting the end of his life.

The temperature continued to drop, and the guards, with weaker abilities, couldn't withstand the intense cold when their bodies were drenched in water.

Even those with slightly stronger abilities struggled to endure the freezing cold, their movements becoming extremely sluggish.
