There were multiple dings in his head signaling that he had received countless notifications from his system but he ignored it, professor Ophelia had been hounding him about his new found abilities and he knew she could sense improvement in his energy flow, since he had no way to mask his energy signature and he didn't want her asking questions about his sudden increase in his energy flow. He decided to save his upgrade for later.
Renjiro stepped out of professor Ophelia's office, he saw a few students walking hand in hand through the academy corridors and he was hit by a wave of loneliness. This was his second life and in both lives he hadn't been in an meaningful relationship. He didn't consider whatever he was doing with professor Ophelia as a proper relationship, he strongly resolved that he was going to change his romantic disposition.
The few students that passed by him ignored him like they always did but he was unbothered by it, he stepped out of the academy and rays of sunlight struck his face and he enjoyed the feeling for a few seconds, before leaving professor ophelia's office he had requested for his ride back home, knowing that it would take about twenty to thirty minutes for the vehicle to arrive, he decided to lay on the lush grass the surrounded the academy.
He opened his eyes after hearing the hum of an engine, he saw the sleek black vehicle waiting for him and he wasted no time boarding it and inputting his destination. On his way back home his mind was blank and he couldn't think of anything reasonable majority of his thoughts were about caelia and her well being.
The vehicle came to a stop and renjiro alighted, he saw that there was increased activity among the castle guards, as he approached the castle doors the guards bowed and greeted politely and one of them pushed open the castle doors, he saw a few maids and they seemed very busy.
Renjiro didn't bother taking off his uniform and went straight to caelia's room, there he saw Finnegan, elysandra and a considerable number of lab technicians and maids. There were tubes connected to caelia's body passing fluids of different color into her body.
"Zephyrus, you are back already although you are a few hours late. Lyra is here she was worried about your mother's condition and came to check on her, she's in your room at the moment" Finnegan said an went back to whatever it was they were doing with the numerous apparently in the room.
"has she woken up yet" renjiro asked his concern evident in his tone
"yes she did but just for a few seconds, she muttered some unintelligible words and shut down again, but her vitals are good. From what we can see she should be awake by morning"
Renjiro nodded and walked out of the room, now he knew caelia was getting better it felt like a hug burden was lifted off his shoulder, still lost in his thoughts he almost collided with a maid who apologized profusely before dashing away.
He entered into his room and saw lyra lying on his bed and filing her nails, he cursed under his breath. This was the first time lyra had touched his bed since the first day he transmigrated to this new world and see felt his rod. He wonder what caused the change of heart this time.
She looked up as soon as he entered into the room and went back to filing her nails, she was angry that professor Ophelia always strong armed him into visiting her office and there was nothing she could do about it. She couldn't challenge or tell off the professor because she was too weak and she couldn't talk to renjiro about it so her feelings for him wouldn't be exposed. This situation frustrated her to no end.
"Hey lyra" renjiro said throwing his bag on the couch and undressing himself immediately, lyra swallowed painfully and her face became beet red.
"you idiot, do you lack decency." Lyra threw her nail file at him trying to mask her embarrassment, renjiro always suspected that lyra liked zephyrus but he didn't want to exploit the situation at the moment considering the fact that she might discover his real identity if they got intimate at the moment.
"Sorry about that" he replied grabbing a few clothes and heading into the bathroom to change into something else.
Lyra ran to grab her nail file and return to the bed before renjiro left the bathroom, she had a hard time controlling herself the moment he took of his shirt, it took all of her self-control for her not to attack him at that moment.
Renjiro stepped out of the bathroom and met lyra still filing her nail, at that moment he remembered that since they found melora she always tagged along and followed lyra wherever she went.
"Where is melora" he asked holding his breath, melora has also been a thorn in his flesh since the day the found her playing pranks on him and making snide comments were a few of the things she did to him daily.
"I asked her to stay at home and play with little Isolde why?" lyra replied absentmindedly.
"nothing" renjiro breathed a sigh of relief and flopped down on the chair, he wasn't in the right state of mind to deal with melora's antics.
"how is your mother doing, I went to check on her but Finnegan didn't let me in"
"she's fine, you know Finnegan can be paranoid at times don't take his actions to heart" renjiro said trying to reassure her.
Lyra slapped dropped he file and turned to look at renjiro, "why is professor Ophelia always calling you to her office, it has become more serious and you guys are beginning to look suspicious, are you in a relationship with the professor"
Renjiro's heart rate quickened and his mind began to race looking for an answer to her question, lyra was impatience and slammed her hand down on the bed halting his thoughts.
"Answer the question or I'll tell your mother about my assumptions"
