The school bell rang and it was time for everyone to head back home, Renjiro walked out of the school premises and lyra followed closely behind him, he saw phinny in a stretcher covered in bandages, he was eventually loaded into a sleek vehicle that zoomed off immediately.
"You are spacing out again, hurry so we can get out of here." Lyra called out to him
Renjiro walked briskly towards the vehicle that normally conveyed them to and from school, during the course of their return both lyra and Renjiro remained silent, it seemed like she still felt guilty for humiliating him during combat class, he was grateful for the silence though.
The vehicle pulled up in front of his family's castle and dropped him off, this time he didn't see caelia waiting for him at the front of the castle door, but it wasn't like it mattered to him. He knew that these people were not his actual family, even in his previous life he didn't have any family for as long as he could remember. He had always been alone and he didn't mind it one bit.
Lyra didn't bother coming down from the vehicle and accompanying him like she always did, she just waved him good bye and punched down furiously on the tab in front of her, the vehicle did a quick swerve and shot towards lyra's family castle.
Days went by in a flash and it was about a week since Renjiro arrived this new world, during the past few days he spent his time trying to understand the system that gave him his abilities, he tried putting himself in near death situations, making contact with rare gems he even went to the extent of swallowing them, but nothing seemed to happen his stats still remained the same and he couldn't gain any additional points to boost his attributes, it frustrated him greatly.
It was a school day so he had to prepare as quickly as possible, he figured that this world had the same time equivalent as the one he came from, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and three hundred and sixty five days a year, this was an arrangement he found very comforting since he didn't need to adapt to any time difference.
"Zephyrus!" a curt feminine voice called out to him as he stepped out of the castle doors, he recognized it to be lyra's voice, she had been avoiding him since the last incident where she humiliated him. He turned back and saw her smiling heartily at him. She got into the vehicle before him and waved for him to join her inside, Renjiro stepped into the vehicle and it zoomed off towards the school location.
"You finally decided to stop avoiding me" Renjiro said with a smile but he didn't get a reply from lyra, she just huffed and turned the other way but they was a growing blush on her face, it seemed like she had gotten over her guilt. In truth it was a bit boring the days she avoided him, he wasn't aware of how boring his life was without her, she added color to his dull life.
Renjiro thought about the activities they would be having in school and the most important one was world history, since he got transmigrated to this world he had not attended this particular class, the class didn't hold the last time because the professor handling it was indisposed, but it was highly likely the professor would not be missing this class.
From what he knew the professor in charge of world history was a young pretty dark haired woman who always smiled, she was loved by all the students in the school and her class was one of zephyrus favorite classes even though he never did well In the exams but he always tried to pay attention during her lessons. her name was solara ashencroft
The vehicle came to a stop in front of the school gates, Renjiro stepped down first and lyra followed he saw the blonde girl again but decided not to ask questions about it seeing how it upset lyra the last time so he just suppressed his curiosity and walked through the school gates. The blonde girl tried to catch renjiro's eyes but he seemed to be avoiding her gaze, she felt unhappy about this but masked it with a smile as chatted and walked away with her friends.
Renjiro and lyra came across professor Ophelia on their way to class, during the past few days professor Ophelia had been tailing him whenever he was in school, he noticed it but decided to just ignore whatever it was she was doing. He just felt she was obsessed with him, they both greeted her as they walked past her, she nodded to them as they walked past and strode back to her office.
They both walked into the class, everyone burst into laughter immediately Renjiro stepped into the class, ever since that day people whispered or laughed in his face whenever they saw him, he turned to look at lyra and saw that she had her head bowed in embarrassment, he took her hand and led her to her seat.
The professor entered into the class and everyone quieted down immediately, the whole class room seemed to light up as she smiled at everyone, Renjiro could now see why everyone liked her.
"sorry about my being unavailable for the last class" professor solara said in a very beautiful voice
"we discussed the history of the kingdom of askabar during the last class can anyone tell me what we last discussed" she asked the class
"we discussed the reason why the kingdom of askabar was shrouded in darkness" lyra answered
"that's nice, but I can also remember that I didn't give a reason as to why that is, did I?" she asked
"the major myth was that the god of the kingdom of askabar is said to have cursed the kingdom as soon as it was formed, does anyone know any other myths about this phenomenon?"
