The princess walked down into the throne room and saw her father talking with someone. She didn't question it and walked close to them. The man who the king was talking to had light brown hair that's all Lazari noted before speaking.
- You wished to see me father?- she asked once the conversation was over.
- Ah yes. Prince Liam this is my daughter Angelica. Angelica dear this is Liam your fiancé- The princess was shocked..no she was furious with this.
- My fiancé?! Father I never agreed to this!- To be fair she wasn't even questioned if she wanted this at all.
- Angelica. You are about to turn eighteen which means you are going to get married soon. If you wish to be ruling the kingdom you need a good king to rule beside him and Prince Liam is more than perfect for that role.- The Prince just watched the father-daughter argument. Everyone in the palace knew that interfering with that would mean losing their job or worse...
- Sir may I speak with my future wife? I think it would only be appropriate if she and I get to know each other before the marriage.- Liam's request was understandable and by the looks of it the king agreed.
- Go to the castle gardens. No one will disturb you two there. Angelica I trust that you will show Prince Liam where the gardens are?- Even tho not wanting to the princess agreed and the two walked out of the throne room.
Once they were in the gardens the prince and the princess sat down on a bench and admired the flowers in silence.
- you don't want this marriage either do you princess?- the question caught lazari off guard. No one ever asked what she wants..
- No I don't...wait..me either? You do not wish to marry me? I thought you and my father...- Laz didn't finish the sentence.
- This marriage is only suggested by your father and my parents agreed since no one dares to go against the king. I..don't get me wrong you seem like a beautiful woman and a very intelligent one at that but I don't wish to marry someone I don't even know.- that was a relief for Lazari since they were on the same page.
- good to know we think the same. I didn't want to marry someone I do not know...- she looked at Liam...his wings were white as snow, his eyes blue as the ocean but his halo wasn't visible..that wasn't odd since many angels hide their halos.
-Is something wrong princess?- the prince looked at her.
- you are a demon aren't you?- Lazari leaned back on the bench and looked into Liam's eyes.
- I-I beg your pardon? Princess what makes you think- Even if it's not lady like Lazari cut him off mid-sentence.
- I am not blind or stupid good sir. I can sense your aura. Unlike the angelic ones yours is darker...but don't worry.- Liam looked up at her. - I will keep your secret.- the prince let out a relieved sigh.
-Thank you so much princess! But excuse me for my curiosity why would you keep a secret like this?- the princess let out a sigh and looked around to make sure no one was eavesdropping.
- Well...you see...I am not a normal angel either.- She took her eyepatch off revealing her dark red eye.
-Oh...I see. I will keep this a secret from the others just like you will keep my identity a secret.- For once in her life Lazari felt like she can trust someone outside of the palace gates.
The two royals talked for a while until they heard a horn which meant that Liam had to leave.
- It was a pleasure to meet you Princess Angeli-One again Lazari cut him off.
- Lazari. Call me Lazari.- Liam smiled
-Very well... goodbye Lazari.- two guards entered the gardens and escorted Liam to his carriage.
The princess went back into her castle and right into her room. She finally took off that bright yellow dress her father forced her to wear. The hair dye stayed but laz planned on washing it out one day...so the kingdom can see her true self. Still...she questioned why doesn't she have wings and a halo? Why can she use magic even without the traits of an angel?...So many questions needed answers...but now there was a bigger problem to deal with. If her father wants her to marry Liam who is a demon...how long is she going to be able to keep his identity a secret? The wedding ceremony is going to be large and..his family is probably royalty amongst demons...
A knock on the door got her out of her mind.
- Princess if something troubling you?- Elizabeth entered the room.
-...Elizabeth. Inform knight Alexander that if my father ever plans on attacking Prince Liam to be ready to protect him and the royal family at all costs.- Elizabeth didn't even question that she just bowed down and left.
How did Liam and his family even end up in heaven? Everyone thought no one could come through the barrier. Maybe..they came here when the barrier wasn't fully done yet? Lazari thought about questioning Liam the next time they meet..but she has something else in mind for the future. There is a place in the castle that she is forbidden from going to..that's the catacombs. It was never explained why...but if there is one thing the princess was sure of..the answers she seeks are down there. As "gifted" as Lazari was she got told never to use magic. It took her a lot of practice to get a hold of it. God never showed the locals his true side since he feared they might turn against him. Laz knew the darker side of him..the side that only hides but is ready to come out the second an opportunity is presented. All it would take is one wrong move from the demons and God would be ready to start a war.
Lazari got ready for bed and laid down. She planned ahead for what she will do in the future...she will seek the truth about her birth..and the reason of why she is different
