Chapter 11 - Weird

Sky's Point of View

"Sorry about Luna, Sky. She's not easy to teach." Luna's mom said.

"I'll just pay you in full. I'll transfer it to your account tonight. I'm really sorry, dear."

I nodded and bowed my head. It's really the end of my visit to Luna's house.

I enjoy being with Luna. She may not be very focused on her lessons, but I learned things I don't usually do.

In the past 3 weeks, I learned to play online games. She taught me how to play Minecraft. She said it's her favorite game because it's all about endless possibilities. We built a house in survival mode. She's noisy when she plays, but it's funny.

Luna is a humorous person. She always makes me laugh—although I don't show it to her, but I'm literally dying inside.

I thought it was Luna's decision to stop our guitar lessons.

I even cried.

She told me she's not capable of doing anything. But I noticed that she has a beautiful voice. I've heard her sing before. There are some areas where her voice needs improvement, but it's nice.

After Luna's parents talked to me, I went to the classroom and took out the necessary materials for our first subject.

I looked at Luna to see what she was doing. She was combing her hair.

I was surprised when she turned to me.

I realized I had been staring at her.

What a creep, Sky.

I cringed when I realized I was looking at her.

She waved at me. I didn't hear what she said because I had earphones on one of my ears.

After two subjects, I left the classroom to visit Kuya's office. I'll ask him for advice on how to make a girl notice my feelings without saying it.

Kuya's office is near the garden, and from afar, I could see a group of students gathered in front of a big bulletin board.

A freedom wall, huh?

I approached to see what people were writing there.

Eww. So cheesy.

I'll just do it. I want to tell Luna how beautiful she looks today.

I took a sticky note from the table, grabbed my pen, and wrote.

"This note is for Luna. I hope she doesn't notice."

I wrote,

"You look beautiful today. When you hold this, it means I'm referring to you.

-Sky"

The girl next to me looked at me as if she was going to eat me. She had a wide grin. I just raised the note I wrote so no one could reach it.

I went to Kuya Azu's office. I saw him writing while listening to music.

"What is it, Sky?" he asked.

"How do you tell a girl she's beautiful without using words?" I sat in front of his table and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen.

His brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

"You heard me, right?" I shrugged.

"Yes, but what do you mean?" he asked.

"I want to show it through actions," I said.

"Well, why don't you message her? I don't know, Sky. I'm busy," he replied.

I left Kuya's office because I couldn't talk to him properly. He's always busy. I looked at the freedom wall again and saw Luna taking the paper I had put there. When she failed to reach it, she wrote something and put it up.

Why does Luna want to reach it?

I approached the freedom wall to see what Luna had written.

I covered my mouth when I read it.

Is this for me?

"You're cute."

Why, thank you, Luna.

I smiled slightly.

I turned when someone tapped me. I furrowed my brow when I saw a familiar face.

Huh?

It was a girl with long blonde hair. She was tall, even taller than me.

She looks so familiar, but there's something different.

I quickly put Luna's note in my ID case. She signaled me to follow her. I hesitated for a moment, but she seemed serious.

She led me to the garden and sat on a bench.

"Look, I'm sorry for what I did last time," she said.

I frowned. "Sorry for what?"

"Remember last time? In the cafeteria? I was the girl you pushed."

That was her? Why doesn't she look like it?

"My boobs last time were fake," she added.

Fake?!

No wonder there was something off about this girl. I knew it. There's something off about this girl.

"Fake, huh? What was the purpose?"

"Jude wanted to make you look bad," she said.

He wanted to make me look bad? But why? What's going on? What does this girl have to do with Jude?

"What's your connection to Jude?" I asked, sitting beside her.

"I-I don't know. He paid me to do that."

"And you followed, because?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I needed money to pay for my tuition fee," she said sadly.

"He gave me silicone fake boobs."

Huh?

Damn! That Jude. He used someone else's problems to smear my name. I don't know what his real problem with me is, but I have to tell Luna not to trust Jude easily.

"Nice meeting you... miss?"

"Hazel," she smiled.

She reached out her hand to me. I flinched immediately.

"Pft! I won't fight you," she said, laughing.

"S-sorry. Reflexes. I just don't feel comfortable with girls."

I reached out my hand and shook hers.

"I see. But why aren't you comfortable with girls?"

"I don't know. Maybe because I don't talk much to girls?" I replied.

The truth is, I have trust issues when it comes to girls. I feel uneasy around them.

"Should I go? I still have things to do," I said, standing up.

"Sure. Nice meeting you, Sky," she beamed.

Huh. Not bad.

She's not like what I expected. Just like Luna, she's not intimidating to talk to. Most of the girls I encounter show interest in me right away. They're touchy and clingy. It gives me goosebumps.

I went straight to the classroom and found Ms. Alonzo arranging papers on her desk.

There shouldn't be any class today, but it looks like I'll have something to do once she sees me.

"Capariño, kindly finish this mess. I'm going to our practice," she said.

Yeah, I knew it.

I nodded and sat at her table.

Ugh! Piles of papers again. Ms. Alonzo handed me the papers to staple. She told me that since I'm one of the SGG officers, I'm the one she trusts the most.

I looked at the person who placed the stapler on my table.

One of my female classmates.

"You need help?" she asked from behind me. I stood up when I felt her body against mine. She stumbled and looked at me with a puzzled expression.

I hate being touched. I can't help but shudder when a girl touches me. I don't know why, but I feel like it's a result of my awkwardness.

"Geez, Sky. Relax. I was just reaching for the eraser," she said irritably.

"S-Sorry. Just don't touch me. I'll be fine."

I continued with my task.

"What's wrong, Sky?"

I shrugged.

"I just don't like being touched," I replied without enthusiasm.

"You're handsome, yet you're so weird," she muttered.

I looked at the classroom entrance. Luna entered.

Her hair was so messy. She looked like she had been through something.

What happened to her? Pft.

Maybe I'll just give the note I wrote to Luna. I took it out again because someone might get hold of it or think something else. I don't want anyone assuming something different.

I approached her and waited for her to look at me. She looked so exhausted.

"What now?" she asked, slightly irritated.

I laughed when she looked at me. She looked like a guy, with her tough attitude. Tsk. If only I could answer you overnight. But you're not like other girls. You're not easy to reach. I don't know what kind of guys you like, but I hope I somehow fit your standards.

"I saw you reaching for that earlier."

I handed her the note from the freedom wall. I quickly put it back in my bag in case someone else saw it. Maybe later someone else will assume something.

I went on my way, walking quickly when she saw me.

She doesn't know how priceless her reaction is. If only I had captured her face on video, I would have a forever copy of that reaction.

But

I have this question in my head.

What did I like about her?

I stumbled when I bumped into someone in front of me.

Jude.

My blood boiled when I saw his face. I tried to control myself. After what he did to the girl I talked to, I can't forgive him anymore. Just when I was ready to forget everything he did to me, I found out he hasn't stopped.

I stood up, and Jude was there, grinning in front of me. He didn't even apologize—or maybe he doesn't know how to do it.

I just passed by him.

You fucking jerk. If I find out that you involved Luna in your anger towards me, I'll kill you.

***

I was at the gate when I heard Luna calling my name.

"Why?"

I froze when Luna held my arm. I could feel my cheeks heating up.

Where are my reflexes? What the fuck?

Why can't I resist? Why couldn't I push her away? Instead, I'm blushing. Why?

At this point,

Mixed emotions were flowing through my body. I can feel her hands. They're soft and smooth. My hair stood on end.

Weird.
