" Well the girls love the old man " kelvin said boldly before winking, making the rest of us cringe before we laughed.
We were currently at a restaurant located few buildings before the hospital, the boys decided to come visit and there was no way we could stay at the hospital so I asked them out for lunch.
" Dude I'm glad your mum is finally better " Cole said with a smile. The idiot has been smiling more than usual today
" Don't even ask, " Shawn said as if he read my mind, " he got himself a girlfriend " Shawn concluded and I'm shocked.
" Oh wow that's rad " I said and cole batted his eye lashes at me.
" Man you are so whipped " kelvin said as he hits Cole's shoulders.
" So are you " Curt said pointing to Shawn to just takes a sip out of his drink and smiles. That had me so awkward because it's weird that we like the same girl.
" That makes us three left " Curt added with a grin
" Players for life man " Kelvin said and bumped fist with Curt before they both turned to me ready to fist bump.
" What ? " I asked with as I stared oddly.
" Dude don't keep the first hanging, players for life " Kelvin said again
" Yeah bro. You know you are the boss " Curt said
" I have something to say " I said and they withdrew their fists before looking at me seriously.
" Well I have decided that I don't want to be a player anymore " I said finally and they stared at me for a while before they burst out in laughter which annoyed me alittle but I don't blame them too. I mean look at me.
" You totally got us there for a sec " Shawn said and chuckled
" I'm serious guys " I said getting pissed

" I look up to you ! " Curt said and drank from his can of beer.

" Cheers guys to a long lasting friendship " cole raised his beer and we all chunked our bottles together before laughing and chatting about other things again

" Okay " he said and then he got up and we both went to the bathroom.

That's Shawn, always soft hearted. Part of why I tried to leave elizabeth for him. It's just that my heart won't let me when I can fight for her heart.

Wow this was pretty easy, it's so weird.
" Come on let's go " I said and he nodded before we walked out of the bathroom back to the other guys
As soon as we sat back at our seats everyone stared at us
" What " I asked.
" What did you guys do ? " Curt asked us with amusement
" Nothing. What do you do in a bathroom ? " I asked him
" Well lots of things. But wait, don't tell me you were fucking in there " Curt said and laughed
" Asshole " Shawn said before throwing a French fry at him, he ducked and we all laughed hard again.
We continued to eat and drink as we talked about school and basket ball practice and then girls. Then other things too. With Cole looking at me in a weird way from time to time, I kind of already know what was on his mind. I know he was wondering what I told Shawn inside
And I know he also had a clue of what I might have told him.
I actually hope me taking Cheryl's idea was a good idea because I don't want to lose Shawn, he was my best friend. But he sounded really cool when we talked, that didn't mean he was going to stop loving Elizabeth or he was going to stop going out with her but I think we both understood what we wanted to understand
I like her and I'm going to do everything in my power to win her over, he likes her too and he would do anything to win her over also.
But after that, she still has to make the decision, but why do I have a bad feeling.

ELIZABETH:
" Honey will you come out of your room " mum called for the fifth time that morning.
I groaned in anger and then put my pillow on my head, trying to block out her voice. She was going to leave, after she promised not to. Was a promise nothing to her, didn't she know she actually had to keep a promise before it's a promise
" Honey. My flight leaves in few minutes. If I don't go I would get fired " she said again
I didn't say anything but I listened
" It doesn't mean I don't love you or I didn't think of you. Why do you think I was always on the phone, I was trying to extend the date. I wanted to tell you but I didn't want to hurt you too honey " she said
I sighed and then sat up, removing the pillow from my head but I still didn't say anything. I just stared at the door
" Okay then. It's fine if you still want to be mad at me. I made breakfast for you and take your meds too. I will see you when I get back. Take care honey " she said and then I heard her footsteps as she went down the stairs.
I sat on the bed still not moving till she left. I walked up to the window and then looked down. She was there beside her car as she put her things inside the car. As soon as she was done, she looked up and her eyes met my eyes, then she smiled but I could tell a fake smile when I see one because all my life I have been giving fake smiles. Then she waved before she got into the car.
That's when it sank in, mum was going, she was leaving for a week, without me. I jumped off the bed and didn't even put on my slippers as I dashed down the stairs case not caring if I fall. I ran to the front door and then I opened it before running out bare footed.
The only thing I saw was the shape of the car as she had zoomed off. I stood on the porch and I stared at the fading vehicle till I couldn't see it anymore. I let mum go with a heavy heart and it makes my heart heavy too. I walked back into the house and then shut the door.
Nothing was on my mind as I climbed the stairs back up to my room, my chest was just heavy as I felt right now. I felt bad because mum had tried to talk to me but I pushed her away. What if she really doesn't come back. What if I really lose her this time.
As I sat on my bed, I finally let the tears fall

" Why are you so moody again. I thought we let go of that betty " Alex asked me that morning as we got to the gym. We were currently in gym and Alex wasn't in my gym class because she did swimming but today, she decided to be a disturbance and follow me just to get me to talk.
" I'm fine. It's nothing " I whispered as we moved to the field where others were already gathered
" What happened to never keeping secrets from each other " she asked me with her hands crossed around her chest.
" Oh God " I whined and then stared at her with a frown.

" If you don't want to tell me then you don't have to but you were the one who talked about secrets yesterday and you are doing the exact same thing. " She said with a frown
" Okay fine. Stop making me feel so bad. " I said and she smiled.
Everyone was just standing and chatting as the coach wasn't around just yet, I wonder what was making him run late because he was someone who didn't condone any act of lateness or laziness or talking. He virtually hated all of us.
" Tell me " she said and then held my hands. Oh I don't know why she is so good at persuading someone.
I groaned and she laughed because she knew she had gotten me and I was going to open up.
" My mum left " I stated
" She left ?. " She asked .. " why ? "
" Work. She had to go for a seminar " I said
" Oh that's a relief. I thought you meant that she left you for another man or she has hidden kids " she said and laughed.
" Really " I frowned.
" Sorry. But isn't it nice to go for seminars. I mean it's her job and my mum goes for seminars too sometimes. She will be back " she said with a smile.
" I can't stay home alone. For a week " I said
" Why ? " She asked me
" Because he might find me " I said
" Who might find you ? " She asked me and I realised that I didn't tell Alex that my dad was looking for my mum and I
" My nightmares. " I said. " I mean my nightmares might come back so I don't want to stay home alone " I lied.
" Oh you are such a scaredy cat. You can stay at my place for the week " she said and I think she bought my excuse. Relief washes through me
" I don't want to burden you " I said.
" That's nonsense. You are my best friend. Plus we will have the best week ever I guarantee " she said and smiled

" Don't thank me. Now stop sighing and frowning. It makes you look old " she said and I laughed.
" That's it. So I think I'm gonna run to my swimming class before your coach comes back. " She said and then kissed my cheek.
" Okay. Have fun, see you at lunch " I said and waved.
" Sure, smile and I love you " she said before leaving the field. I watched her as she entered the school back, a smile still on my face
" Sorry I'm late. Lets start with warm ups " a voice thundered and everyone groaned as they stood up from where they had been sitting.
I walked back to the group of people who were standing spaciously and doing warm up exercises and then joined in.
" Okay twenty push ups each .. let's go " he clapped and everyone went to their positions and started the push ups.

" Hi " I said as I made my way into the library after second period. I always have a free period every Wednesday after second period and I haven't visited the library in weeks so I decided to do so today.
" Hi Betty. How are you ? " Mrs Cooper said
" I'm fine and you ? " I asked her with a smile.
" I'm fine darling. It's nice to see you smile, you look beautiful. " She said and I blushed.

" So you haven't visited the library in a long time. I thought you had moved schools " she said.
" Yeah I was just really busy with my classes and projects too " I said
" Oh that's fine. What do you want to read ? " She asked.

" Not really except the ones that came in last week. " She said

" Okay six roll, third shelf " she said with a smile before turning to the laptop to continue what she was doing earlier.
