" So what's your ideal thought of a perfect date ? " Alex asked me as she jumped on the bed, smiling so much her lips could fall off.
We left school some hours ago and although I have alot of assignments to be done and submitted next week, I'm actually very happy because it's weekend, meaning no school till Monday, isn't that so great.
" I don't know, " I said with a shrug.
" Come on don't be a spoiler " Alex said giving me a grim look.
" I guess watching a movie " I said picking on the chips in front of me.
" Oh betty you are actually a nerd now that I come to think of it. of all the places to go on a date, you prefer watching a sad movie and chewing on popcorn " she said eyeing me
" I never said it was a sad movie " I countered smiling.
" Whatever. oh wait watching a movie isn't a bad idea, you get to buy one jombo sized popcorn and a large cola with two straws. I like it " she said with a grin.
I nod my head as I watched her act like a baby.
" So what do you plan on doing tonight while I'm away ? " I asked her
" Well Cole and I are going to a party. you know today is Friday, that's pretty much it " she said eating from her chips.
" Stay away from drinks " I warned her
" I should say the same for you. the first time I took you to a party, you got drunk and almost made someone commit suicide with your words " she said with a serious tone.
" It was a mistake and besides I'm making up for it now " I said with my head low
" It's fine. just have fun on your date today. I don't want you to act like a nerd okay, eat what you want to eat, say what you want to say and have fun. That way you will know who you actually like more " she said with an intense look
" I will keep that in mind. " I said trying to smile as I put another chips into my mouth
" And one last thing, make sure you kiss him " she said causing me to spit the chips out.
" What ? " I asked feigning ignorance
" Kiss Shawn today and kiss Adam tomorrow " she stated and I frowned.
" Am I supposed to go around kissing guys like a psychopath. no " I said with a nod.
" Come on " she said pulling my hands
" No. that's inhuman " I said and she rolled her eyes.
" Would you just do let loose for once and have fun " she said and I stared at her, not saying a word
" Okay I'm not asking you to kiss him randomly but I'm saying if he makes the first move the kiss him " she said
" But that would be leading him on " I said
" Just go with the flow Betty. " she said and then got up from the bed.
" You might want to start by taking your bath because we don't really have much time. want to go see what Ralph is up to " she said. I muttered an okay to her then she took the tray of snacks she had brought to the room earlier before leaving the room.

" I look different " I said as I stared at my reflection in the standing mirror. Alex had straightened my curly red hair with an hair straightener and it was all shinning and long. my make up wasn't too much but just natural enough to give a beautiful effect. I didn't look like me
" You look beautiful " she said as she packed the make up back into a box.
I blushed at her comment before sitting on the bed to put on my sneakers.
" What are you doing ? " she asked. I looked at the sneakers and then back at her face.
" I'm putting on my shoes obviously " I said and she burst into laughter.
" Nope. nah ah. you are not wearing those to an elegant dinner. " she said giving me a smile before disappearing into an inner closet. she comes back out with a black wedge heels.
" Wear this " she said dropping the heels in front of me and then she picked up the sneakers.
" Are you sure I'm not dressing too much ? " I asked her.
she rolled her eyes
" It's a dinner date, a fancy restaurant,you are supposed to dress too much. " she said
" Okay then " I said and let her put the heels on for me
" Now you are ready " she grinned and then handed me my purse before ushering me out of the bedroom back to the sitting room.
Just as we got to the sitting room, my phone beeped and I checked the message.
Shawn
I'm outside
" He is outside " I whispered
" Okay calm down, you'd do just great honey " she said
" You sound like my mum " I said
" Well in her absence someone's got to act like her. " she said and I rolled my eyes again
" Or would you rather I call Raphael out of his room so he can lecture your date " she added with a mischievous smile
" I'm going " I muttered. As soon as I opened the front door, I'm greeted with a bouquet of red roses and a handsome Shawn in a black tuxedo.
Okay it's fancy..
I turned to look at Alex and she smiled in triumph. her eyes clearly said I told you it was going to be fancy.
" For you " he said and smiled, revealing his dimples. he looked so cute in the tuxedo he was wearing, his hair was styled back
" Thank you " I said and collected the flowers before giving him a big smile. I couldn't stop looking at him. is it normal to be attracted to two guys.
" Okay sorry to break it down guys but can I take a picture ? " Alex asked pooping out in the doorway batting her eyelashes.
" If you send it to my mum, you are dead " I said through my teeth as she took the pictures
" I promised nothing. " she said and entered the house back.
" Have fun, okay not too much fun and be home before twelve " she said smiling
" Be home before eleven thirty " someone yelled and we all looked up to see Raphael shirtless and standing by his window shooting Shawn a death glare.
" Yes " Shawn said and I could tell he was scared.
" It's okay. " I assured him. " bye alex " I said and she waved before shutting the door, at last Shawn and I were alone.
" You look beautiful Betty " he said and I blushed before looking at him.
" You are not bad " I said and he laughed before opening the door of the car so I can get in. as soon as I am settled in the passenger's seat, he closed the door and then got into the drivers seat. I buckled my seatbelt as he started the car then he drove out of Alex's neighborhood into the big road.
" Where are we going ? " I asked him
" My dad's restaurant " he said and gave me a smile, his eyes glued to the road.
" Okay " I muttered before sitting back on my chair. I stared at him as he stared at the road, he looked so serious and I couldn't help but think he is going to be someone who calculates his every move, someone like me.
I smiled again before turning away from him and then I looked outside the window....
Few minutes later, we arrived at our destination and after opening the door for me like a gentleman, we walked into the restaurant before us, my hands wrapped in his hands.
We were taken to a table by a waiter, after bringing out a seat for me to sit, he took his seat opposite me and he gave me a smile.
" This is quite fancy " I said looking around the restaurant
" Have you never been to a place like this ? " he asked me
" Actually no " I said and bit my lips.
" We can leave if you don't like it " he bent over and whispered
" Oh no it's fine. " I said giving him a reassuring smile.
" What would you like to have ? " A man in his mid twenties came to our table and then gave us the menue.
" What would you like to have ? " Shawn asked me
" Anything would be fine. " I said and he nodded his head before telling the waiter something.
The waiter came back seconds later with two plates of leaves and meat. I have always wondered how people spent a lot of money on a plate of one beef and leaves but now that I'm actually going to eat it makes it really funny. after pouring wine in two cups for us, the waiter takes his leave.
" Thank you " I muttered and then stared at the food for a while.
" I'm guessing this is the first time too " he said with a sad look
" Yes actually " I said
" Next time I will ask you where you would love to go " he said and I nod

" Your dad owns this restaurant, it's really nice " I said as we started eating.
" He actually loves cooking. he has liked it ever since I was a kid " he said and smiled.
" He is the chef ? " I asked in surprise
" He prefers to cook his meals himself. " he said and I nod
" What does your mum do ? " he asked me
" She works at a company as a secretary " I said and smiled. I actually loved talking about my mum.
" That's nice. " he said but I could hear the hint of sadness in his voice.
" Your mum ? " I asked him
" She passed away when I was five. I don't really remember much about her " he said
" Oh I'm sorry " I said
" It's fine. your dad ? " he asked and I dropped the fork on my plate at the sudden question.
" Are you okay ? " he asked with worry.
" I'm fine " I said giving him a forced smile.
" Shouldn't I have asked about your dad ? " he asked with a frown.
" No it's just complicated. I don't like talking about him actually " I said honestly and he nods.
" How long have you known Adam ? " the next question I asked him even surprised me too.
" We grew up together, Adam's mum practically raised me when my dad wasn't around " he said and I nod
" How long have you known Alex ? " he asked in return
" Not that long, for two years. I moved here " I whispered
" okay " he said and we continued our dinner, both of us not altering another word but eating in silence.

" I hope you enjoyed dinner ? " he asked as soon as we sat inside the car back.
To be sincere I was bored a bit because people were super silent there but I had fun because we talked about the books we have both read and we had dessert too
" Yes I did, thank you " I said and he started the car
" Do you want to come over to my place, we can watch a movie or something because I don't want this night to end just yet " he said looking at me
That last sentence just sent butterflies in my stomach
" Yes sure I'd love to " I said giving him a smile.
" What kind of songs do you listen to ? " I asked him
" Anything actually. I'm not really a fan of songs " he said and I nod.
We arrived at his house shortly and trust me when I say it's as nice as the restaurant, Shawn's family was stinkingly rich, I didn't need a fortune teller machine to tell me. the house was very nice.
" What do you want to watch ? " he asked me as we sat on the couch in the sitting room
" I'm a fan of adventure or romance movies " I said
" There is this film I have been dying to watch and it just came out. Fantasies " he said and my face lit up
" Me too " I said and we both grinned. it was nice how we had so much I'm common, I am starting to feel comfortable around him, maybe Alex was right I needed to give it my all to know how I really feel.
" We have so much in common " he said what was on my mind and he put the film on
" Yeah we do " I grinned as he joined me back on the chair.
This is actually my idea of a perfect date. a movie and good communication.
We watched the movie in silence half way when he paused it and stared at me abruptly.
" If I don't do this I would never be at peace with myself " he said and I stared at him oddly.
What was he talking about.
" I have made it obvious that I like you " he started and I stared at him
He likes me, why didn't I feel so giddy and excited to hear that. Maybe because I already knew that he did but I just wanted to act like I didn't know.
" I have liked you for a while now and I want you to be my girlfriend " he stated.
Are people supposed to be so blunt about their feelings?. I didn't picture Shawn as someone like this, I pictured him as the shy type.
" I. I don't know what to say " I managed to say as I kept staring at him.
" Will you be my girlfriend Elizabeth ? " he popped the question. I wanted to hear this question so bad but why am I not happy hearing it from him.
Before I could reply, he kissed me. As soon as his lips touched mine, I contemplated for a while as I stared in shock.
I finally closed my eyes.
