As Reng approached the family, he turned his back and watched the arrival of the black figure.
"They have nothing to do with this. Leave them alone," Reng's voice carried a tone of seeking justice, though he was certain the three figures would not heed his words without a fight. But he couldn't know for sure without trying.
Glancing at the man and woman, Reng said,
"Escape when you get the chance. I'll hold them off."
The leader of the three figures, cloaked in black, maintained his previous demeanor and replied,
"No one is going anywhere."
"Hahaha, Reng, we should thank you. It's been a while since we had such a beautiful woman," one of the remaining figures spoke for the first time, his voice oozing with lust, even without his face being visible.
While all this unfolded, the man resembling a bear grimaced, "Lusting after my wife in front of me?"
Without hesitation, the bear-like man lunged forward to confront the three figures.
"You're thirsty for death," he proclaimed, and in an instant, he closed the distance between himself and the figure who had last spoken.
The bear-like man's hand was already around the figure's throat. Only the woman's face showed no surprise, having witnessed her husband's power firsthand.
The other two figures, in unison, exclaimed,
"Second brother!"
Reng, his mouth agape, watched in astonishment. He never expected one of the family members he just saved to be an Sky Conqueror. Until now, he might have understood it if they were at this level, considering the various reclusive experts living in seclusion. However, when he looked closely at the bear-like man's face and body, he noticed something peculiar. The man was in his twenties. An Sky Conqueror in his twenties? If he were to tell others, they would likely consider him mad.
Without paying attention to the gazes and cries of the other two figures, the bear-like man extended his other hand, swiftly removing the man's clothes, and then reached out with his right hand, tearing out the man's lower jaw along with his tongue.
Only the sound of flowing blood and the muffled groans of the jawless man remained in the air.
The remaining two figures abandoned their desire for revenge. They were not foolish enough to challenge an Sky Conqueror. Despite encountering many Sky Conquerors before, they had never witnessed one so fast and powerful.
Countless thoughts surfaced and disappeared in Reng's mind. A person of this level at such a young age couldn't come from the Eastern Continent. That was his initial thought. Then he deduced that the man must be a Body Cultivator. Regular Sky Conqueror typically used the power of an element in their attacks, but Body Cultivators focused on enhancing their physical bodies. Their techniques encompassed both speed and strength. No ordinary person could rip someone's jaw off in a single move.
The two black figures immediately dropped to their knees.
"My lord, please show mercy," one of them pleaded.
The other continued,
"My lord, he paid for the crimes he committed against the lady. Please spare our lives."
Though disgusted by their actions, Reng knew that in a world where the strong ruled, people often had to lower their heads to preserve their lives.
Without giving the two figures any more attention, the bear-like man commanded,
"Leave."
The black figures bowed their heads and began to retreat. How could they dare to take their fallen brothers' bodies? Soon, both figures were fleeing at a speed even faster than when they pursued Reng.
Reng turned swiftly to the bear-like man and said,
"Thank you for saving my life, my lord."
The bear-like man's gaze returned to his son, devoid of the cruel and lethal aura he had exuded moments ago.
Without giving the bear-like man a chance to respond, his wife interjected,
"Senior, you are exaggerating. It was impossible for you, with your combat experience and the Earth-level weapon you wielded, to die."
Hearing her words, Reng's face turned pale. He had fought with the three black robed man a few miles away. 'This woman is not simple,' he thought to himself, resisting the urge to extend his consciousness to measure her power level. However, he knew that if he made such a move, he would die immediately, as the bear-like man beside him was capable of preventing it.
Reng nodded in response to the woman's statement, then turned back to the man and asked,
"May I know your name, my lord?"
For the first time, the man shifted his gaze from his son and looked directly at Reng.
"You may call me Ursa," he said.
Reng's mouth hung open again. After all, 'Ursa' meant bear. Who would call themselves a bear?
Finally recovering from his shock, Reng looked at the child in the woman's arms. Another wave of surprise washed over him as he noticed the child's eyes, sparkling with knowledge as if aware of everything happening around them.
Ursa turned to Reng and said,
"Isn't it wonderful? I've achieved many things in my life, but this child is the best."
Reng only nodded what can he say for that words.
Reng inspected baby for a time
And in the child's mind, there was only one thought.
"Is this old geezer seeing a baby for the first time?"
