"Your...Your Highness?" Maxine called. She walked nearer to him with her lantern held high for her to examine the weapon that had been forced into his chest.
Maxine's heart raced as she surveyed the gruesome sight before her. The lantern in her trembling hands cast eerie shadows on the scene.
"Oh, no... What have they done to you, Your Imperial Highness?"
She didn't fear her life just because the man in front of him was a very important figure but the pain in his eyes made her insides crawl as if enduring pain.
However, he looked as if he had not just been stabbed by a sword.
Sullivan was not aware of the sword driven into his chest until he saw the young healer's expression and his chest himself. His body was too weak to endure pain and all that he felt was a numbness.
