Chapter 1 - Chance at life A Fresh!

12 pm in a hospital ward, a man with black patches under his eyes was lying on a hospital bed, and the hall he was in, seemed to have other patients, each separated by a curtain.

He seemed like someone that would be dying anytime soon, and the only thing that seemed to indicate he was still alive where the medical equipment attached to him. He had been in the hospital for less than 3 hours, and no one seemed to be at his side. When he recovered, his eyes seemed to have some tiredness in them, at the moment they opened as though he would give up on life at any moment. This was not because he wanted to, but rather because he had no motivation to get out of the hospital bed. What awaited him was work and work and work, which was how he viewed his life for the next period of his life.

But the thing that puzzled the man was that he could see some virtual screen appearing before him, and he thought he was suffering from some mental issues. This made his eyes sink even more, but since he had nothing to do, his eyes moved around the panel, and he could see some words written on it.

Name: Chang Shen

Lifespan: 35

Physique: 9 (Normal people 20)

Spirit: 6 (Normal people 15)

Clone: Siamese fighting fish

Attributes: 0

At this moment, he was already sure that the hard work he had done all this time seemed to have already turned him into a crazy person. He was actually seeing things and considering that it seemed that he might even die anytime, it was time to resign. He had not even spent all the money he had been saving all these years. Especially when he saw that part about the clone, after all, he had a fish he bought to decorate his small one-bedroom apartment. But here he sees the fish of the same name being referred to as a clone, he just pushed the matter aside.

Closing his eyes, he seemed to be lost in thought, "I should indeed resign already. I can also take this chance to go back and retire in the countryside, where no one knows me." The idea seemed to have been born in his mind and would not go away at all, as such he soon fell to sleep again. This was because he was too weak, but this decision seemed to make him something to look forward to. That was especially the case when he thought about the expression on his boss's face after he resigned.

He had already completed the payment for the student loan and at this moment the money he had left in the account was enough to survive for a year if used properly, but since he has an idea to quit his job and stay in the rural town he went to school, he would end up saving on retail expenses and be able to use it for a long time. In the rural area, he could indeed be able to come up with something to earn money, besides he still had some farmland, even though it was on a mountain region and could not be used for farming, it was enough for his residence.

The issue of rent is a big deal, for this moment though, he seemed to have no plans in living some fancy lifestyle. After he regained some health perhaps he could think about the issue of employment again, after all, he was feeling that if he continued he would end up following his parents early. Regardless of how good money is, one has to be alive to enjoy it.

When Chang Shen opened his eyes, he discovered that he was feeling cold all over, but the feeling to him was natural as though something he has been used to. All around him, he could see some tall green plants, before him that seemed too green, and the thing that had him panicking was the fact that he was under looking at a reflection of a window in the water tank he was in. In the distance, it seemed that something was not right as he could not even feel his legs or hands and when he tried to have them move, he seemed to swing his fins and shifted position.

On the glass, he could see his reflection and it was the Siamese fighting fish that he had bought some time back. Other than throwing it some meal and some maintenance of the glass aquarium fish tank, he did not even observe the fish much. It seemed that he had just bought it for decoration and made some basic care to make sure it did not die and that is it. But the fact that he seemed to have turned into a fish was more puzzling and more than just that he could see the Attribute panel appearing before his eyes.

The section of the clone seemed to have been enlarged somehow and he saw it, his thoughts seemed to have already turned into rage. But his anger did not seem to result in much other than rushing around in the water. When he knew nothing could be done, he still came back to the attribute.

Clone: Siamese fighting fish(Can evolve) Choose direction by feeding it evolution subject.

When he saw that prompt he seemed to be in a bad mood and looking up the water tank, there were some water striders on the surface of the water, and the first thought he had was to try to see what the direction of evolution being talked about meant. He was indeed not in a good mood and took it as some dream, as well as a chance. With this, the fish rushed up to the surface and tried the tactics of the sharks when dealing with other small fish.

This in the end seemed to be a failure and regardless of how it tried, it could not get the water striders, they seemed to have some way of escaping, and thus the fish eventually was tired and could only continue staying underwater low-key. Chang Shen, on the other hand, that has relaxed seemed to slowly return. His consciousness seemed to have gone back into the body, but he did not wake up immediately.

The next day, early in the morning, when he opened his eyes, he seemed to realize that some nurse was checking on the drip and other medical equipment connected to him. Opening his eyes, he seemed to have some light in them, though they were not easy to identify and still held that dimmed eyes feeling when one looked at him. It was as though the person was alive but lacked a soul, and the nurse seemed to have been used to seeing people like this.

When she was about to leave, he asked expressionlessly, "Can I be released today?"
