She's poisoned," said Luli with a worried expression, and Gang, understanding the assignment, carried her on his back, running all the way to the demon clinic.
Mount Hua Sect.
"It's been over thirty minutes now that we've been circling the forests without any marked herbs in sight," said Mimi.
"I'm so tired, my legs are too tired to walk," I complained bitterly.
"It's the Ginseng, it looks exactly like the picture in the scroll," yelled Muyang excitedly. We all ran down to him and, without much hesitation, we all began cutting.
"The master of the Earth disciple is quite brilliant," said Feifei jokingly. We all burst into laughter while Muyang just rolled his eyes away.
"Alright, what's next?" asked Mimi after plucking lots of ginseng.
"We should go for the Astragalus herb," suggested one of the disciples.
"No need for a long search, I've found the remaining two herbs," said one of the disciples excitedly.
"Really!! Where is it?" asked Mimi, running towards the scene and was soon disappointed.
"Does this look anything like the drawing in the scroll, you moron?" said Mimi angrily, with her hand placed on her forehead in frustration.
"He didn't find the Astragalus herb, but I found the ginkgo herb," said Muyang, holding the ginkgo herb in his hand.
"That's great!" we all chorused excitedly and started plucking ours.
"Alright, it's time to go back to the alchemy studio," said Senior Disciple Wang Lei.
"But there's one more," interjected one of the disciples.
"That's enough searching for today. You'll look for the remaining one tomorrow. It's almost noon, and I don't want us to be locked outside the gate," explained Senior Disciple Wang Lei.
"Oops, I don't want to be locked out, so we better listen to Senior Disciples," I said with a smile.
"We'll obey," we all chorused and followed Senior Disciple Wang Lei back to the alchemy studio.
"You all tried for today, but there's still one herb remaining. I want it to be here by tomorrow," said the Earth Master.
"Yes!"
"You can go back to your dorms now. I'm sure the other disciples are waiting for you," said the Master of Earth. With this, we all made our way out.
I was soon back at Senior Disciple Zhang Han's quarters. Every disciple was already waiting, just as the Master of Earth had predicted.
"You're finally back," said Zhang Han the moment he spotted me.
Didn't you want me to leave before? I thought scornfully.
"Junior sister, welcome to the spell school," said one of the disciples, with happiness written all over his face.
"We don't drink alcohol, but we have tea. To the junior sister!" yelled the disciple, with a cup of tea in each hand. He also handed a cup to me.
"It's your welcoming ceremony. That's what we do every time we get a new disciple. Let me show you your room so that you can relax early. You still have a lot to learn as a new disciple, and tomorrow is a new day," said Senior Disciple Xiao Yan, with a broad smile on his lips.
I have to regard everyone as a senior since I'm the junior one here, but where is Zhang Han? I haven't seen him all day, and that spoiled brat of his? I thought, while following Senior Disciple Xiao Yan as I inspected everywhere, hoping to catch a sight of Zhang Han.
I was soon led to my dorm. It was located at the east corner of the school.
Woah, I've said it before, Mount Hua Sect is really good at spoiling their disciples. My room is huge and well-decorated. The expensive furniture, made of jade, is gently placed at one corner. My chair and table for studying scream wealth. Everything is just perfect. But why is there two beds? I thought, with confusion written all over my face. Then, a lady dressed in a white robe appeared, drying her hair.
"Ah, your roommate, Junior Disciple Xi Shi," said Senior Disciple Xiao Yan with a broad smile.
"What? I'm sharing a room with her?" I asked, raising my gaze to Senior Disciple Xiao Yan in disbelief.
"Yes, of course. She's your roommate as of today. You both should get along," said Senior Disciple Xiao Yan.
"I thought this was my room alone. I don't want to share a room with her. I can with anyone else, but not with her," I said, with frustration plastered on my face.
"You really think I want to share a room with you too? I'll be really glad if you leave, as that would mean I'll have the whole room to myself," said Xi Shi, as she sat on her bed with a nonchalant attitude.
"Get along with your roommate. I have to go now," said Senior Disciple Xiao Yan, as he took his leave without giving me another chance to say anything, now leaving me in the room with Xi Shi.
Anyone else would be better than her. That crazy bitch, I thought, fuming with anger before finally settling down on my bed.
"You don't want to share a room with me, I understand. But let me just state the rules since you're going to be staying here now," said Xi Shi, now standing up and walking in circles.
"What rules?" I asked angrily.
"Every roommate shares the same fortune and misfortune together. But I'm not someone who wants to share that with anyone. And if I'm even willing to, not with someone like you. So, the first rule is..."
"Room members are expected to be back at their dorm latest by noon. So, I'll advise you to be back to this room by noon. Failure to do so is a punishment by Old Lady Li. You already know her, the old lady who instructed you on what to do."
"That's the sect rule, though. But here are my own rules..."
"I hate having people in my room. I hate crowds. So, don't you ever bring any of your friends here, because I know you'll be making new friends soon. Don't you ever bring them here."
"Always make sure this room is clean and..."
"Hold on, are those rules for me or what?" I asked, amidst confusion and anger.
"Yes, I'm your senior, so you listen to me," said Xi Shi, with a hateful gaze.
