Chapter 22 - Sealed memories or a good liar

What kind of rules are those? The person who made them is a jerk," I yelled angrily as I tried to escape from Zhang Han, only to be pulled into the bath by him.

"I made the rules," he replied, looking powerful and dominant, while I stood in the bathtub, dripping wet.

The water had soaked my clothes, revealing my cleavage and body.

"How dare you!" I yelled angrily as I quickly got out of the bathtub and faced Zhang Han.

He turned away the moment our eyes met, looking flustered and his face as red as the sun.

"I asked you a question. I should have known better. You're such a shameless man," I yelled angrily, but he ignored me as he got out of the bath, now wearing his robe.

"You can go to bed now," he said, and finally left.

"You...you..." I stammered, not knowing what to say, as I stared at him in disbelief until he was out of sight.

After cleaning up the bathwater, I made my way to his room, but he wasn't there. "Where did he go at this time of day?" I muttered, but there was no one to reply.

"Arrrrgh...this is annoying. I already have a headache," I said, placing my hands on my forehead.

"I better go to bed tonight. I'm so tired, but I'll surely confront that jerk!" I yelled angrily, and stormed out of his room.

I spent an entire hour searching for my room as most of the rooms were occupied by the disciples.

Where am I supposed to sleep then? I thought sadly.

Zhang Han's quarters

He can be seen seated majestically on his chair, with a man helping him grind some ink.

"Do you really think she'll want to stay any longer after all that you made her go through today?" asked the man, neatly dressed in a white robe, a disciple under sect leader Taiyuan.

"She'll definitely come back. She's not someone who would give up easily, and moreover, she would have to come back here as there's no room for her to sleep tonight," said Zhang Han with a smirk.

"Why are you talking like she's someone you've known before?" asked the man, looking confused.

"Is that a crime? That's just how I know all of you disciples," replied Zhang Han confidently.

"Oh, I see," said the man, now focusing on the ink grinding.

"Xiao Yan! Did the master seal any of my memories due to one reason or another?" asked Zhang Han with seriousness in his tone.

"What memories?" asked Xiao Yan, looking puzzled.

"You don't have to lie to me. Did I encounter any women on any of our missions? And did I have a close relationship with any of them?" asked Zhang Han.

"What are you talking about? There's nothing like that," replied Xiao Yan.

"Thanks! She's such a good liar after all," said Zhang Han.

"Who's that?" asked Xiao Yan, confusion written all over his face.

"Nothing. I'm just waiting for the new disciple to appear," said Zhang Han with a smirk.

"Do you really think she would want to come back here?" asked Xiao Yan.

"Yes, at the count of one...two...three...There she is," said Zhang Han as he spotted Yang Hua.

"And where am I supposed to sleep after a long day of work?" I yelled angrily at Zhang Han, ignoring the other man seated.

"That's what happens when a servant ignores its master's words," said Zhang Han.

"What! You told me I can go to bed after you purposely pulled me into your bath," I said angrily, causing the other man seated to stare at us in confusion.

"His...his bath? Woah, just woah," said the man, looking awkward.

"That was a mistake, okay?" replied Zhang Han with anger written all over his face.

"Coming from the mouth of someone who couldn't even apologize after his mistake, I'm not surprised though. It isn't the first time you've done something like that," I said angrily.

"You're going to wake others up with your noise," said the man, with a worried expression.

"Shut up!" yelled I and Zhang Han in unison, making the man tremble in fear and keep quiet.

"You are really something else. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this...madness," said Zhang Han as he rolled his eyes at me in disbelief.

"You're the mad one here, okay? No senior disciple treats their junior ones like trash," I said angrily.

"Right! You're right. You're good at arguing, but I'm not. I'm already tired from this drama," said Zhang Han as he finally took a seat.

"Where am I going to sleep?" I asked with seriousness in my tone.

"Xiao Yan! Kindly prepare a room for her, please," said Zhang Han.

"Me? Why me?" asked Xiao Yan, his gaze fixed directly on Zhang Han.

"Just do what you're told, brother. I'm already tired from today's work. It wouldn't be good for me to start another drama with you," I said, as I stared at the man called Gang.

"I'll do as you say, senior disciple," said Xiao Yan with a bow, after which he led the way while I followed him to my room.

The room was decorated with wooden furniture, the bed neatly made, and the table and chair facing the door. A dressing mirror could also be seen on the right-hand side, just before you reach the bathroom door.

I can finally take a warm bath, I thought with happiness written all over my face.

"You are not a disciple yet, so you just have to make do with the room for now. You'll get a new room once you've become a disciple," said Xiao Yan, bringing me back from my thoughts.

"This isn't even my permanent room yet. How would my permanent room look like then? Thanks for showing me my room, Master Xiao Yan," I said with a smile, to which he reciprocated.

"You're welcome," he replied, and took his leave.

I wonder how many days are left for the third trial to end? How many more days of hard work? I thought, after I took a shower, while I tossed in bed with no one to answer my questions until I fell asleep.
