And where do you think you're going?"
"Pardon..."
"I said, where do you think you're going?" he asked, his gaze fixed directly on me.
"To get rid of the plates for the senior disciple," I replied with a smile.
Noises could be heard from outside; the other disciples under sect leader Taiyuan were back from training.
"You really think you can escape after messing up my lunch?" he asked with a smirk.
What is this scoundrel thinking about right now? He's actually pained about it though, only if he knew how satisfying that was, I thought, grinning from ear to ear.
"And what is going on in that evil mind of yours?" he asked, wondering about what is making me grin from ear to ear.
Before I could reply, a lady neatly dressed in a white robe appeared, a disciple under the sect leader Taiyuan.
"Good afternoon, senior disciple," she greeted with a bow and a smile broadly plastered on her lips.
"Junior disciple Xi Shi, meet the new junior disciple," said Zhang Han, as he stared at me awkwardly.
"She's not yet a junior disciple until she passes the last trial," replied Xi Shi with a hateful gaze.
Why the gaze? It's not like I collected her husband, I thought with frustration written all over my face.
"I know her, isn't she the girl from the restaurant, the one who accused you of a crime? You even have the guts to follow the senior disciple here. Just how shameless you are," said Xi Shi, now shaking her head in disgust.
The more I think about it, she's that lady who called me shameless. Like, what the heck? And she still called me that again, but I'll just ignore that for now, I thought with my gaze fixed on her with anger.
"Exactly! She's still under trial and would have to see if she'll pass. You can go and have a rest; she'll do all her duties," said Zhang Han, and with this, Xi Shi took her leave as she gave me a hateful gaze.
It was already nighttime; everyone was already asleep, and here I am, still in my master's quarters.
"What are you doing?" I asked timidly at the sight of Zhang Han, removing his robes till he had nothing on, only his pants.
Zhang Han sure has a good body. The abs and tallness are something all ladies want in a man. He's handsome, not too slim, and of course, those lips and eyes are breathtaking.
"And what are you thinking about that got you so lost?" asked Zhang Han, bringing me back from my thoughts.
"Nothing, I... I just have to let you know that I'm not one of those cheap girls in the brothels," I stammered, looking all frustrated.
"Get rid of that thought of yours," he said, as he sat down in the bath.
He wanted to have a bath after all. Get hold of yourself, Yang Hua, I thought, hitting my hand against my forehead.
"What are you doing? You look like a bride who has been abandoned on her wedding day," he said, seated in the bathtub as he prepared to wash himself up.
"Nothing, senior disciple. What!! Abandoned wife? Did you just say that?" I asked angrily.
"The water is cold. Go and get some hot water," he ordered, ignoring my question.
That spoiled brat, only if I could teach him a good lesson, I thought while fuming with anger.
"Walk! Will you?" he said, with a serious gaze, after which I made my way out of his room all the way to the kitchen.
"I'm surprised as there was no one in the kitchen, and damn, the firewood has been put off. How am I supposed to boil some water?" I muttered amidst tears and frustration.
"How am I supposed to meet anyone here by this time? I should be in bed already too, but look at me, I'm still serving that bastard," I said, as I hit my leg against the wooden table that had vegetables on it.
"That hurts!" I yelled angrily, now sitting down on the kitchen floor.
Zhang Han was right after all. I look like an abandoned bride, I thought sadly.
"I better try my best to get this hot water, or that bastard wouldn't free me," I said, after which I stood up, trying to light the firewood.
All that came out was smoke, as the only thing it did was stain my robe and my face too.
After much trying, it eventually brought out fire, in which I hurriedly put the pot full of water on the fire, waiting patiently for it to boil.
The water boiled, and I carried it in a pail back to senior disciple Zhang Han's room.
He is out of the bath and had been waiting for too long now, as he was about to yell at me but soon stopped upon seeing me.
"You're a mess," he said, shaking his head in pity at the sight of me, as I was covered with black charcoal.
"I know, right," I muttered, as I poured the hot water into the bath.
"I almost thought you were going to be using the whole night to boil water," he said, with his gaze fixed upon me.
"Get inside the bath, senior disciple," I said with a frown, and with this, he got inside without arguing.
"Goodnight, senior disciple," I said with a bow, but was stopped by him, handing over his bathing cloth to me.
"Wash my back," he ordered.
"Huh! Are you crippled?" I asked, and oops, that was one big word which changed Zhang Han's expression into an angry wild lion.
"And what do you mean by that?" he asked, looking all angry now.
"Nothing, but I'm tired. You should bathe yourself. How would you want someone to bathe you again? You're an adult for crying out loud," I complained in anger.
"I don't think you can become a disciple with this attitude of yours. You're the first disciple to be so daring," he replied with a smirk.
"Disciple or not, I don't care. All I want now is to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow, senior disciple," I said with a bow and was about to make an exit, but was pulled back by Zhang Han.
"I hate when someone pulls my hair," I yelled angrily at the tight grip of Zhang Han, who had my whole hair in his hand.
"I haven't slept, and you also don't have the right to sleep," he said, still gripping my hair.
"What kind of rule is that? The person that made that is a bastard," I yelled angrily, as I tried to escape from Zhang Han, only to be pulled into his bath by him.
