Long live your highness," chorused the council of elders, bowing before me.
These old men don't even know that they're old, I thought, sitting on the throne with my hands placed on my head, massaging it. I have a terrible headache.
"Is your highness okay?" asked one of the council of elders.
"You've been absent for three court sessions."
"Is there something the general is keeping from us?"
Arrrrrgh... Can they just keep quiet, I thought with an angry expression.
"Your highness, they're waiting," Luli said, bringing me back from my thoughts.
"Oh.. yeah, yeah, what's happening," I said, waving my hands as they looked at me in confusion.
"Sorry about that, I'm good, my dear old men. As you can see, I'm beautiful and radiant," I said with a bright smile.
"Her highness has been in seclusion," said Yang Xiu, stepping forward and finally standing in front of me.
Seclusion, the word I was looking for. How does she know my plan? Oh, I get it, blood is thicker than water they say, but we're not related in any way, just like a novel sister. It's all good though, I thought with happiness written all over my face.
"I'll be going into seclusion for six months," I said excitedly, as Yang Xiu, Luli, and the elders stared at me in confusion.
"Seclusion? Why would she want to do that?" asked one of the elders.
"Your highness must be unwell, or why would you want to go into seclusion?" said another elder with a worried expression.
"Her highness has never been sick, maybe this one is quite terrible," said another.
"Seclusion??" Yang Xiu whispered, raising her eyebrows at me, waiting for an answer.
Why does she have that expression on her face? Isn't she the one who brought up the seclusion stuff, I thought as I looked at her scornfully.
The council of elders was gossiping among each other, making the meeting hall noisy.
"Enough of the chit-chat, okay? Court is adjourned to God knows when," I said, as I walked out of the hall with Luli and Yang Xiu, while the elders stared at me in confusion mixed with surprise.
I'm finally in my room with Luli and Yang Xiu standing in front of me, and I can see that they have lots of questions to ask.
"Alright, don't just stand there, shoot!" I said while eating the tangerine Luli peeled for me.
"Why do you want to go into seclusion?" she asked with seriousness in her tone.
"That question again? I thought I've settled it," I said as I groaned in annoyance.
"Is your highness sick?" she asked, now settling down on the bed beside me, her gaze directly fixed on me as she touched my cheek gently.
Awwwwwn.. Is this the feeling of having an elder sister? It feels so good to be cared for and worried about. All I ever had was the most annoying brother, had to care about protecting him instead, but I miss him and mom too, I thought, as tears rolled down my cheek.
"Are you okay? Is there anything I should know?" she said, bringing me back from my thoughts.
"Damn it! I really miss my phone, science is life after all," I said with a grumpy look as Xiu stared at me in worry.
"Pardon?" she asked, looking at me in confusion.
"I better tell you my plan. I'm going for the Mount Hui sect contest as a disciple," I finally revealed.
"What!" she yelled in annoyance, standing up away from me.
"What's wrong with you? Why do you have that look?" I asked, my brows raised at her.
"I'm sorry, your highness, but this is a very bad idea," she said.
"It's not but a perfect one. Do you even know your sister at all? Do I still look like her?" I asked, my gaze fixed upon her in anger.
"What do you mean by that?" she asked in confusion.
"The war... I would have been killed if not for Luli," I said, as I rolled my eyes away from her in annoyance.
"You're always the best warrior, the... the cut, you were cut with a sword, how's that possible?" she said, turning me around while inspecting my body.
"Enough, you're making me feel dizzy," I said, freeing myself from her grip and settling down on a chair.
Even if I was injured, is this the best time to inspect? You could have done that before, not now, I thought with a frown.
"I'm sorry, your highness, but it's quite hard to even imagine that you were hurt. I thought it was just a joke, but turns out it was true," she said sadly.
"I... I lost my memory, and the only way to keep the demon realm safe is by learning my martial art again. I'm sorry to say, but I'm no longer a warrior," I said with the calmest tone ever, and I could sense that she had a lot going through her mind.
"Her highness is going there for our sake. Going to the Mount Hui sect is just a plan ahead of them, getting your enemy at your fingertips, then defeating them will be easy," Luli said, looking in my direction, while I nodded in agreement.
"You also know about this," Yang Xiu said, facing Luli.
"Yes, she knows, and I want you to keep the demon realm in check until I return," I said, as I tapped her shoulder.
"This is a dangerous journey, your highness. It's full of danger," she said with a worried expression.
"I know, but I can't die. Just take care of things here for me. I'll be back soon," I assured her with a bright smile.
"I'll obey your command, your highness," she said as she knelt down, bowing before me.
Mission accomplished!! I thought excitedly, as she made her exit.
"I hope we're able to defeat the Mount Hui disciples and mortals one day. Then the demon realm would rule over the world," said Luli, grinning from ear to ear.
Oh my gosh! How can such a young girl have such an evil heart? So pathetic, I thought, shaking my head in pity.
Damn! I really miss my phone. What new designs of clothes came out today? The shoes," I said, tossing from one side of the bed to the other in annoyance.
"Phone? What's that?" Luli asked, confused.
"Nevermind! You would never understand," I said.
