Get up, we have to go now," I said, trying to wake Luli up from her deep sleep.
"Where are we going, Your Highness?" she asked with sleepy eyes.
"The mortal world," I said with a serious expression.
"Now? Why now?" she asked, her eyes now fully open as she raised her brows at me.
"Just get up, I don't have time for questions this morning. I've informed Yang Xiu too, she's aware, so hurry up," I said with a serious tone as I dragged her away with me without allowing her to speak further.
She performed the vanishing spell, and soon enough, we were back in the mortal world at the inn.
"I missed it here," I said, lying down on the bed with a happy face.
"I don't understand why we had to come to the mortal world so soon," she said with a grumpy look.
"To prepare early, of course. When does the trial start again?" I asked, my gaze fixed directly on her.
"We have three days left!" she replied nonchalantly.
"What? Three days? How come? Why didn't you tell me?" I asked with seriousness in my tone.
"I thought we both knew," she said nonchalantly, which infuriated me even more.
"You... you... you're... Arrrrrgh... Nevermind, just tell me what the trial is going to be about, tell me everything," I said as I sat on the chair feeling uneasy.
"It consists of three stages. The first is to test your bravery and strength, the second is your kindness and love towards the weak ones, and the third is to test your patience," she said while walking in circles.
"And..." I inquired.
"That's all I know," she said, her gaze raised up at me.
"What do you mean that's all you know? You should be able to say exactly what we're going to do in the trials," I yelled angrily.
"I can't know that, Your Highness. I happen to know this piece because lots of people are gossiping about it, but the trial is never going to be easy," she said with her head slightly bowed.
"Huh? How can I participate in something I know nothing about? At least just give me a clue. For example, the strength test, are we going to be fighting against someone strong? If yes, is it someone from the Mount Hua sect?" I asked with seriousness written all over my face.
"I really don't know, Your Highness, but I trust that you'll win all the trials," she said with a bright smile on her face.
Damn it! Why is it so difficult to enter the Mount Hua sect? Why the useless trial? Can't they just recruit and teach us? This is not going to do. As for the strength test, I better prepare by getting something strong to fight with, I thought, now dragging Luli with me all the way into the capital city.
"Woah... these swords are good," I exclaimed with my mouth wide open at the sight of some beautiful swords neatly arranged in a row.
"Not only are they good, they're sharp, strong, and light to carry. The sharpness is enough to slide through water," said the sword mister who was focused on explaining and demonstrating the sword quality to us.
"What are you going to do with a sword, Your Highness?" Luli whispered into my ear.
"To cut that tongue of yours if you keep on disturbing me with questions," I said with a fierce look before turning to face the sword mister.
"How much is it?" I asked excitedly with my sack of silver in my hand.
"Just twenty silver, my lady," replied the sword mister with a bow.
"I'll take it," I said handing over twenty pieces of silver to the mister as he gave me the sword in return.
"Ahh... my arms, take it," I said handing over the sword to Luli, who collected it instantly.
"Can I have something lighter than this?" I asked, my brows raised at the mister.
"I don't sell anything other than swords, young lady, but you can check elsewhere," he replied with a slight bow.
"Uhmm... I'll just take my leave, thank you," I said with a smile as I took my leave with Luli, who carried the sword close to her chest.
We soon settled at the inn once more while I couldn't stop thinking about my journey to the Mount Hua sect tomorrow.
"You've been smiling since we came back from the sword vendor. Is the sword that nice to keep on admiring?" Luli said, bringing my attention back to her.
"You should teach me a few moves, you know," I said, dragging her up from the bed.
"Me? Moves? You don't even know how to hold the sword yet, and moreover, why should a mere maid teach Your Highness? I dare not," she said, her face bowed down before me.
"Who told you I can't?" I said, trying to take hold of the sword but soon dropped it due to its weight.
"How about some defense skills instead? You couldn't hold the sword due to your powers being sealed, and moreover, you've lost your fighting skills," she said with a bright smile.
"Oh... but what about you? You sealed yours too," I said with confusion written all over my face.
"Yes, I did, but I still have fighting skills," she said.
"Ohh..."
"You're the hope of the demon realm, Your Highness. I believe you'll regain your memory soon and become the most powerful demon queen once again," she said with a bright smile, to which I nodded.
Demon queen or not, I'm not interested. I only want to enter the trial because of that Zhang Han. He has to explain to me what he meant by the word shameless. I have to show him who's shameless between me and him, I thought.
Luli and I spent the entire evening practicing some defense moves, after which I surrendered and fell asleep from tiredness.
