Chapter 16 - The trap 1

Meanwhile, Damian had sighted Rodger from a distance having a conversation. He recalls that Rodger was related to Tyler in his research.

He had nothing to do for that moment and decided to trail along with Rodger. All he had to do was teleport.

***

He found himself in a cave. It glitters with different hue lights which covers his face.

The splash of water made it echo, the walls were slippery, curved of bricks yet felt muddy.

The rattling of metals could be heard and grunts too as though the people inside were doing something with great strength.

It had an evil aura. Intrigued, he furthers his steps towards the lights.

Rodger was cautious of his environment as he scanned to and fro. Luckily, Damian couldn't be sighted.

It was as though, Rodger was petrified as it was his first time being here. He had received an anonymous call claiming that they would be working together.

That's because they have a common enemy which was Tyler.

His former boss perry had no business any longer with him and would take down Tyler alone.

Perry sees Rodger as incapable since his first attempt on murdering Tyler was futile. Now, Tyler was working with a stranger who he was yet to see.

Damian's eyes scruntized the gothic images, he had seen far worst but he would give a thump up for this one.

The sculptor was perfect. Skulls and bodies that felt real hung around as though they were real. His ears detect noises and screams of pain.

He guessed it was from within the walls. That was just mafia life. They always have a victim to torture.

Damian seems impressed as he patrols freely like a jobless ghost. He had even initiated how Rodger walked as the path he took keeps getting further.

It got to a point Damian was confused if Rodger hadn't lost his way. He paraid through the hallways, corners and turns.

This cave was heavily guarded and Damian had the record of everything in it. Everything here felt bizzare as it made him freak.

Unfortunately, Damian lost Rodger which was so absurd. He never loses his prey. Surprisingly, he found himself standing at a pool.

That was the point he lost Rodger. He heaves a sigh, intending to teleport out since it was a baseless tracking.

Shockingly, he couldn't and felt trapped. He tried several times but it was vain.

Rather, he felt weak and dizzy. If he could recall, he was a soul gripper and shouldn't have such feelings.

He decided to wait for a moment to recollect his strength. Nervously, he shut his eyes to try communicating with Wales.

While contemplating on how to get out, he could hear an echo. Swiftly, he shoved his gaze at the pool.

It radiants and allures any soul that encounters it. He found it enchanting that he had forgotten who he had come for and the next step he intended to take.

Damian knelt down closer to the pool to see if there was something in the sparkling water.

Suddenly, a hand stretch out of the water and dragged him inside.

Almost immediately, a man walked closer to where Damian and let out a smirk.

He was wearing a dark coat and gloves. His hat covered his face partly.

Rodger appeared behind him and peeped at the pool terrified but hide his fear.

"We've trapped his little puppet, let's expect him soon" the man's voice echoes.

"Who?"

The former tugged his hands in his pockets.

"Tyler and the man I seek are connected" he mutters in riddles, puzzling Rodger the more.

This mafia gave up questioning the stranger and patiently waited for the next order.

It was Rodger's first time encountering the man he was working for. Furthermore, it was his first time being in such a place.

Rodger had only come to inform him on the survival of Tyler and bring up possible plans to knock him down again.

Once he succeeds, he would earn a gig from this man.

However, it seems this stranger had other plans.

***

Her worst mistake was tagging Wales along because he didn't seem interested in any of her shambolic act.

She kept giving him signs on how they could capture her but this man only keep asking how.

Sadly, she had to go through the thin and thick all by herself. He only believed her when she had dispersed the ghost.

At a point, he almost made the ghost escape but she was smart enough to trap it. Working with him was hell. She wishes to ghost him after now.

Was she a Ghostbusters or something? It gave him goosebumps as to how she would disperse him if she finds out his identity.

They were walking back, only the heavens knew where they were heading to.

Wales was unsettled, he was still holding her purse without realizing. The scene of earlier made him throw up.

He felt probably because he was in a human body. Nevertheless, he should act tough.

Lisa heaves a sigh as she felt satisfied with her job but Wales expression made her numb.

He was weird, a different kind of mafia and it baffles her. She was yet to witness all the rumors she heard about him.

That's if they weren't made up stories. Though she could relate to only one. His bossy nature.

Wales halt his steps and quickly shoved his gaze at her. His move made her heart skip as she barely concentrated.

"You're just the perfect one I need, let's finalize..."

Lisa couldn't get her eyes off him, if only he knew everything he spoke never registered in her head.

Furthermore, could he stop staring at her that way? Though they were daring yet it enchants her.

Her eyes rested on his lips and her heart flutters as a quick memory flushes her head.

She gasped and shook any sensation her head was trying to imagine.

"Lisa?" He called as she seems shocked staring at him.

Winking her lashes, she threw her gaze from him and clears her throat.

"Do you have a beef with this ghost?"

"No, it's just the legend about a ghost who would.."

"Destroy the world"

He kept silence as she had completed the statement. The path they took was quite rowdy and they had to press through the crowd to see the route they took.

Lisa ceased the opportunity to buy some groceries along the street market. Unfortunately, Wales was the carrier.

He felt like crushing her. Shouldn't she have some respect! He was in the body of a mafia, not a peasant or servant.

They moved from one stalk seller to another and Wales felt exhausted because she wants to buy everything in this street market.

While her hands were picking the groceries she needed, her lips were moving. Wales wasn't concentrating anymore as everything disgust him.

People rubbing against him to get through this narrow alley, sellers luring him with their pitched high voice.

Kids running about. He would never get used to this. Sadly, he couldn't leave her alone because she might ghost him.

He had worked with people like her when he was a soul gripper, fortunately, only damian stayed by his side keeping him out of trouble and watching his back.

Speaking of which, he hopes Damian had returned to the spirit world.

"You're suspicious of him right? As a Ghostbusters, there are always tough ghosts but the legend isn't real" she added and as he was about to say another word, he felt his chest throbbing.

Wales held his chest as he winced silently. Though, no one has noticed his act as he was concealing his pain.

That was the name that suit people like her. At least, she found a name for herself.

Lisa was still facing the roadside and hadn't noticed him gurgling in pain. The packages she had given him stride off his hands.

His eyes were itching and his throat burning hot.

"Tough guy, I never expected you to believe in such myth..." She paused and picked a lettuce that fell from her hand.

Though, she didn't want to look behind him just to avoid his mesmerizing gaze.

"So tell me your first experience capturing ghost" she teases finally rolling her eyes to gaze at him but he was gone.

Her eyes lowered down and she found her stuffs on the ground.

Nervously, she asked the buyer where he ran off to but the seller wasn't as alert just like her.

"Did he just ditch me because of the groceries?" She rhetorically questions.

His breath was ceasing once again and he knew it was Tyler's asthma. The dust around the market place must have caused it.

He never intended to leave her there but he had to scamper for an inhaler. Unfortunately, there was pharmacy close by.

His eyes were dizzy and he tottered around, trying to hold on to something but fell down.

Two men around saw him and decided to help because he was subconscious.

Meanwhile, Lisa felt Tyler wouldn't be far and intended to search for him because he had her purse.

When she had gotten to an isolated corner of this market, she found her purse on the ground along with his wrist watch.

First, she wanted to curse at him for being careless but then realized it was something different, like though he was abducted.

She suddenly shuddered as she felt an evil spirit lurking by and she knew he had been taken.

"Oh

no!" She panics, grab the purse and wristwatch and began a race out of this place.
