Karito Pov
I was freaking out. I just knew in my gut that the jerks who had been after me had attacked the bus with Yelena. I didn't waste a second and told Romli what was up. We hopped on his bike, me in the driver's seat, and he held onto me tight because, damn, I was not holding back on the speed. Plus, there were no buildings to swing from nearby, so it was all on me to get there ASAP. We zoomed downhill, and finally, I caught sight of the bus. Romli pointed it out, and I gave him a nod, letting him know we were on the right track.
I pulled up to the bus and yanked the door open. The scene inside was a total nightmare. Blood smeared all over the windshield, bodies sprawled out, and bullet shells littering the floor. I couldn't hold back the urge to call out for Yelena. The stench of blood was sickening, and my heart raced as I searched for any sign of her. I couldn't help but inspect the bodies, praying to whatever higher power was listening that none of them belonged to Yelena. My relief was mixed with anger, though. How could these sickos mercilessly take lives like it was some sick game? It fueled a fire in me, a burning determination to make them pay for their heartless actions.
(Thug 1) "Damn, smells like shit."
(Thug 2) "He said to burn the bus."
(Karito) "Shit." Activates the camouflage skill
(Thug 1) "Sucks to be you."
(Thug 2) "Hey, pass me the gasoline."
(Thug 1) "It's coming. Chop them up first, they will burn faster."
(Thug 2) "But that's so much work." Sighs
In that split second, the thug locked eyes with me, man. My heart skipped a beat – did he freakin' sense me? Oh, shit! Before I could even process what was happening, he whipped out his machete like a madman and swung it down right at me. But here's the hilarious part: this dumbass swung so wide that his weapon got freaking stuck at the top of the bus. Talk about a major fail, dude. I couldn't help but chuckle at his sheer idiocy, grateful that his clumsy move bought me some time.
(Karito) "Wow, you must be the worst Dark Solider I have ever seen."
(Thug 1) "FUCK YOU!"
In a blur of motion, I dodged each of the thug's vicious swings, bobbing and weaving with a dancer's grace. Then, seizing my opportunity, I yanked his arm, forcefully guiding him towards the narrow space between two seats. With a swift, powerful strike of my knee, I shattered his arm, the sickening crunch echoing through the chaos. But I wasn't done yet.
Driven by a surge of adrenaline, I slammed the thug against the window with all my might, the glass fracturing beneath the impact. Shards rained down around us as the window gave way.
As if drawn by the commotion, the second thug burst into the bus, his eyes widening in shock at the scene before him. A dark aura seemed to engulf him, a twisted manifestation of his fury and desperation. The air crackled with tension as he let out a primal scream, his rage fueling his determination to a whole new level.
(Karito) "A soldier as a phase two? OH SHIT!"
The thug wasted no time and swung his machete at me with a vengeance. I managed to dodge his wild strikes, swiftly moving out of harm's way. Sensing an opening, I grabbed his arm and twisted it, causing him to wince in pain. With a quick knee strike, I shattered his arm, rendering it useless. Seizing the moment, I flung him across the bus, his body crashing into the radio, causing it to crackle with static.
Amidst the chaos, I became aware of another thug rushing towards me. The dark aura surrounding him hinted at his sinister intentions. Before he could reach me, I deftly maneuvered, evading his attacks. Determined to stop him in his tracks, I grabbed his shirt and slammed him against the bus window, the glass shattering upon impact. The shards sparkled in the air as he slumped to the floor, momentarily stunned.
As the threat seemed to momentarily subside, my spider-sense tingled, warning me of an approaching danger. I shifted my attention, my eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of trouble. It was then that I noticed a figure pouring gasoline over my body, a malevolent smile spreading across their face. Time seemed to slow down as they attempted to ignite the fuel with a flick of their lighter, but I couldn't allow that to happen.
In a desperate move, I delivered a powerful kick to their knee, shattering it instantly. The agonized screams that followed were drowned out by the chaos surrounding us. I used the opportunity to kick them in the chest, knocking them back and causing them to drop the lighter. However, as I tried to regain my footing, the thug I had previously subdued lunged at me, his hands wrapping around my neck in a rear-naked choke.
Gasping for air, I fought against the tightening grip, my mind racing for a solution. In an act of self-defense, I unleashed my stingers, aiming for the thug's eye. The excruciating pain forced them to release their hold, their body convulsing in agony. I took the chance to deal with the remaining threat, swiftly dispatching them with my stingers, their lifeless body collapsing to the floor.
The weight of the situation hit me, my heart heavy with the realization that I had taken human lives. Overwhelmed by a mix of emotions, I doubled over, retching as my stomach rebelled against the violence I had witnessed. Yet, even amidst the turmoil, I reminded myself that these were dangerous individuals, a threat to innocent lives. With a deep breath, I managed to steady myself, understanding that my actions were driven by the need to protect others.
As a tense calm settled upon the bus, my senses remained on high alert, warning me of an impending presence. The battle was far from over, and I prepared myself for the next challenge that lay in wait.
(Karito) "For fucks sake, who is it..."
In a sudden twist, my heart sank as I witnessed a thug wielding a torch, their twisted smile revealing their malicious intentions. Without a moment's hesitation, they dropped the torch, igniting the bus in a fierce blaze. The flames erupted with an intensity that consumed everything in their path, casting a fiery glow on the chaos that ensued.
Reacting swiftly, I instinctively made a beeline for the back exit, my mind focused on escape. However, my route was swiftly blocked by another thug, their menacing presence filling the narrow corridor. Their eyes glimmered with a mixture of cruelty and triumph, a chilling sight in the face of imminent danger.
(Karito) "HOW MANY OF YOU ARE HERE?!"
(Thug 5) "GO AND DIE! YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"
(Karito) "FUCK YOU TOO!"
In a split-second decision, I glanced towards the back of the bus, my mind racing for a way out. A spark of inspiration ignited within me as a daring idea took hold. Without a second thought, I propelled myself forward, my legs pumping with all their might, propelling me towards the blazing inferno.
With adrenaline coursing through my veins, I launched myself into the air, defying gravity for a fleeting moment. Time seemed to stretch as I soared towards the shattered rear window, my determination pushing me forward. With a surge of energy, I reached out, my fingers gripping the window frame, my body contorting to fit through the narrow opening.
In a daring escape, I swung myself through the broken glass, shards scattering in my wake. The intense heat and suffocating smoke were momentarily left behind as I landed on solid ground, free from the clutches of the raging flames. A surge of relief washed over me as I took a moment to collect myself, the gravity of my escape sinking in.
(Karito) "Ughh... Why does my shoulder sting?" Looks "OH SHIT MY JACKET IS ON FIRE!" Takes it off "... I really liked that jacket man..."
In an instant, I regained my composure and approached the battered remains of the bus. A surge of anticipation coursed through my veins as I sensed an impending attack. Reacting swiftly, I instinctively ducked, narrowly evading the fourth thug's fist as it sailed through the air.
Seizing the opportunity, I delivered a precise strike to his ribcage, eliciting a grunt of pain from the assailant. Capitalizing on his momentary vulnerability, I ensnared his face with a sticky web, sending him crashing to the ground in a tangled heap.
But my heightened senses alerted me to another imminent threat. With a quick reflex, I raised the fallen thug's body as a makeshift shield, bracing myself for the incoming danger. The fifth thug emerged, armed and ready, unleashing a hail of bullets towards me.
In a calculated move, I released the impromptu shield, allowing it to crash to the ground. My muscles tensed, prepared for close-quarters combat to bring this relentless battle to its climax. However, my attention was abruptly diverted as a familiar voice cut through the chaos, a cry of warning and desperation.
It was Romli, my loyal companion, who had fearlessly entered the fray, unaware of the peril that awaited him. Time seemed to slow as he leaped towards the thug's back, his courage shining through. In that heart-wrenching moment, a single gunshot shattered the air, a chilling reminder of the dangers that surrounded us. Romli crumpled to the ground, his sacrifice etched forever in my memory, fueling my determination to confront and overcome the darkness that threatened us all.
(Karito) "NO!!!"
A primal roar of fury erupted from deep within me, echoing through the chaotic air. Startled, the thug instinctively recoiled, attempting to maintain his distance. Determined to neutralize the imminent threat, I swiftly deployed a web, ensnaring his gun with calculated precision. With a powerful yank, I forcefully tore the weapon from his grasp, severing his arm in the process.
A symphony of agonized screams filled the air as the thug writhed in excruciating pain, clutching the mangled stump where his limb once resided. Driven by a surge of unyielding rage, I seized the opportunity to deliver a relentless barrage of punishing blows.
His face met the unforgiving surface of the bus repeatedly, the sound of impact reverberating through the air. Each brutal collision further emphasized the sheer force and unyielding determination coursing through my veins. In that moment, there was no mercy, only an unrelenting pursuit of justice as I unleashed the full extent of my formidable strength.
The relentless assault continued, unyielding and merciless, until the thug lay dazed and broken, his spirit diminished under the weight of his own malevolence.
(Karito) "YOU ASSHOLE! FUCKING DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!!!"
As the thug's face collided forcefully with the unforgiving surface of the bus, a resounding crash echoed through the air. At that moment, a surge of raw power propelled my actions, driving his visage deep into the metal structure, imprinted with the weight of his malevolence. My gaze, filled with an intense blend of anger and determination, remained fixed upon the fallen adversary, until the clarity of reason gradually returned to my consciousness.
Regaining my composure, I directed my attention to the sight that caused my heart to sink. Romli, lying motionless on the ground, beckoned my immediate concern. Without hesitation, I raced towards his fallen form, propelled by a potent mix of dread and urgency.
(Karito) "ROMLI! Please hang in here!" Puts pressure on the wound "Romli! We can make it to a hospital! Come on!"
(Romli) Places his hand on Karito's cheek "...Relax... It's... Ok..."
(Karito) "Don't! Don't do that, don't just start talking broken English to me! Come on we can make it!"
(Romli) "Thank... You..." His hand falls down to the floor as he closes his eyes... And he passes away
(Karito) "No... no... NOOOO!!!" Starts crying "FUCK! NOO! WHY! WHY HIM!" Lower his head "I'm so... so... sorry... Romli..."
I couldn't hold back the silent tears that welled up as I cradled Romli's lifeless body in my arms. Slowly, I made my way to the nearby forest, seeking a peaceful spot to lay him to rest. With a heavy heart, I dug a hole using my stingers, carefully placing him inside. I covered him with the earth, creating a final resting place for my dear friend.
As I stood there, surrounded by the quiet embrace of nature, I couldn't help but offer a silent prayer, my thoughts and emotions mingling in the air. Looking down at the covered grave, I arranged stones around it, a humble tribute to the life that had touched mine.
But beneath the surface of my grief, a wave of seething anger simmered, fueled by the injustice that had befallen Romli and the world we found ourselves in. It was a mix of sadness and fury, a potent blend that threatened to consume me.
(Karito) "...Lee..."
As the police cars pulled up, I glanced back and saw them spotting me. Didn't really have a ride anymore with the bike all busted up. Guess I'll have to hitch a ride with the boys in blue. They started yelling at me, so I just dropped to my knees, hands behind my back, ready for the handcuffs. They wasted no time slapping those babies on me and whisking me away. Another adventure begins, I suppose. Time to see what comes next.
Time skip
Night time
I found myself confined to the sterile confines of the interrogation room, restrained by the cold metal of the handcuffs. The anticipation hung heavy in the air as I awaited the next chapter of this unfolding drama. Soon enough, two figures entered the room, one of them carrying an air of authority. With purposeful strides, he set a folder of meticulously organized papers on the floor and fixed his gaze upon me, ready to engage in conversation.
(Detective) "American?"
(Karito) "No, Latino."
(Detective) "You speak English, so that's that."
(Karito) "Uh huh."
(Detective) "Please, focus."
(Karito) "Mhm."
(Detective) Checks the folders "...Romli, local resident. Is he related to you?"
(Karito) "The chances of that would be low but no, he was a friend. A good one at that."
(Detective) "Okay, a friend." Puts one paper down "Now, tell me what happened."
(Karito) "There was another friend on the bus. She was taken... Or so I think."
(Detective) "Was she around the dead people?"
(Karito) "She was, but I didn't find a body. She's a doctor from Jakarta, her name is Yelena. Though I think she moved here from Russia."
(Detective) Sarcastic "Oooh, Yelena? Huh?"
(Karito) "If you don't believe me just say so. Don't have to be such a dick about it."
(Detective) "Well, who killed those people then? Go on, tell me."
(Karito) Scoff "Are you serious? Why the fuck do you wanna hear my story? Huh? You are clearly been an ass about it. I have a friend that is possibly dead and another that died by helping me. And you here are going to put the blame on me?"
(Detective) Motions the Guards to get out
(Karito) "..."
(Detective) "It's just us now..."
(Karito) "Gonna do something off the book?"
(Detective) Slams his hand on the table "Now, here's how it's gonna play, Guardian."
(Karito) Doesn't even flinch "Uh-huh."
(Detective) "I'm going to make you rot in prison forever in our leader's orders. You will be beaten, defiled, and starved to death. You are going to beg me to kill you later on."
(Karito) "... I heard scarier shit before. You don't make it to the top thousand on my list."
(Detective) "Tough are we now? How about if I do this?"
"Due to overwhelming Dark power, all skills and items were blocked. You will gain access to your powers once you have eliminated the Dark Lord controlling this world."
At that moment, I just froze. It was like my powers took an extended coffee break or something. I started freaking out. I mean, who knew they could just shut me down like that? It's like being unplugged from the Matrix or something. Dammit, why did this have to happen now? I was totally caught off guard. I let out a string of curse words, my frustration spilling out like a leaky faucet. This was seriously messed up. Just when I thought I had everything under control, BAM! Power outage. I couldn't help but mutter, "Fuck, fuck, fuck!" in a futile attempt to release my mounting frustration.
(Detective) "Not so strong now, huh?"
(Karito) "You fucking bastard!"
(Detective) "Well, before you die. Let me tell you about a rumor."
(Karito) "Go ahead. I'll still live, even without my powers."
(Detective) "Yeah, right. Anyways, there was once a rumor about a mysterious young man. Every time he appears, he leaves a scene of the massacre that turns the whole beach blood red. Children, no older than 6 or 10, would disappear as well. Do you want to know what happened to those children?"
(Karito) "Even though I would love to avoid trauma, I know you are going to continue so go ahead."
(Detective) Chuckles "You're right. I shall continue now. Those children grew up. They were bred to become smugglers... Plunderers... And killers. Imagine that. These brats have a stronghold on this island. Crazy bastards. Every one of them is willing to die... For their mysterious terrorist master. Now, one has to wonder. Who is this person? Even amongst criminals, he's a terrifying figure. Ever since he gained the power of the God of Darkness, he has been stronger than ever. Few who live to tell the tale... refer to him as "Lee."
(Karito) "Yeah, I know. I saw a description of him. Just get to the point."
(Detective) "Four months ago he fought a Guardian. Right out of the blue, both of the clashed fists. Their martial arts were on a whole other level. Their fight was fast and intense, but... The Guardian was losing. The streets while filled with the poor Guardian's blood as Lee beat him down relentlessly. The hero, the people's only hope, was quickly filled with despair. One last punch and Lee won, by crushing his skull with his fist."
(Karito) "..."
(Detective) "After that... he took control of the world. Everyone who went against him died. All governments in the world, work for him. Sadly, he doesn't take advantage of that, he likes to fight people in a fair match."
(Karito) "Lucky me then."
(Detective) "No. Because you die now." Grabs his gun
But right as he was about to pull the trigger, bam! The lights went out and everything went pitch black. We just stood there, staring at each other like, "What the heck just happened?" Talk about awkward timing, right? It was like someone pulled the plug on the whole scene. In that moment of darkness, time kind of stood still, and we were left in this weird suspended animation. Guess the universe decided to give us a dramatic pause, just to mess with our heads.
(Detective) "What the hell? Hey! Turn the lights on!"
Amidst the stillness that enveloped the room, an unsettling symphony of gunfire erupted, echoing through the corridors of the police station. The air became thick with the cacophony of bullets whizzing past, intermingled with the frantic cries of the law enforcement officers. As the chaos unfolded, the distinct sound of hurried footsteps reverberated, steadily growing louder, signaling the imminent arrival of unknown intruders.
(Detective) "What the fuck is going on?"
The detective's gaze darted from window to window, his searching eyes peering through the parted drapes in an attempt to comprehend the unfolding turmoil. Alas, his vigilance proved insufficient, for a sinister figure brandishing a menacing machete remained concealed from his view. With a swift and calculated strike, the villainous assailant thrust the deadly blade through the window, finding its mark with chilling accuracy — the detective's mouth. A piercing cry of anguish escaped his lips as he crumpled to the cold floor, his life extinguished, leaving behind only the vacant stare of his lifeless eyes. Unbeknownst to me, the murderous thug, having caught sight of my presence, widened his eyes with a mixture of surprise and malicious intent, proceeding purposefully toward the entrance of the interrogation room.
(Karito) "FUCK! FUCK!"
The thug strolled into the room, looking like a total psycho in his orange raincoat and flip-flops. I mean, seriously, who dresses like that? He sauntered over to the other end of the table, giving me this creepy stare-down. It was like he was trying to psych me out or something. But hey, I wasn't about to let him intimidate me.
(Karito) "Is there any way we can talk this out?" Tries to break the chains
(Psychopath) "Nope."
The thug swung his machete with all his might, but my reflexes kicked in, allowing me to evade the deadly blade by gracefully leaning back. Undeterred, he tried to slash my stomach, but I effortlessly sidestepped his attack, like a dancer in perfect rhythm. Frustrated by his failed attempts, the thug resorted to a desperate move, yanking the table towards him in an attempt to trip me with the chains that bound me. However, my agility prevailed, and I managed to maintain my balance, albeit landing on the table. Seizing the opportunity, the thug lunged towards me, aiming to drive his machete into my skull. Yet, my quick thinking and lightning-fast reflexes allowed me to dodge the fatal strike, evading the blade by mere inches. Swiftly retaliating, I executed a well-timed kick to his leg, disrupting his balance and sending him crashing to the ground. However, his resilience was impressive, as he swiftly regained his footing and retaliated by forcefully kicking the table towards me, aiming to incapacitate me. Bracing myself, I tensed my abdominal muscles, absorbing the impact and minimizing the blow's effect. In a stroke of unexpected fortune, the force of the impact broke the chains that confined me, setting me free from my restraints.
(Karito) "Thank God the villains are fucking dumb."
(Psychopath) "AHHH!"
(Karito) "And have rabies."
I swiftly seized the table, employing it as an impromptu weapon, forcefully striking the thug in the abdomen. Despite the impact, the relentless assailant quickly regained his composure, launching into a frenzied assault, swinging his lethal machete with unbridled aggression. Reacting with poise and composure, I skillfully interposed the table between his blade and myself, effectively blocking his relentless slashes. Undeterred, he intensified his onslaught, relentlessly hacking at the table in an attempt to breach my defenses. However, his relentless persistence paid off when he unleashed a powerful front-kick, propelling me forcefully against the wall, momentarily incapacitating me. Seizing the opportunity, he seized his moment of advantage, ruthlessly driving his machete through the table, the blade puncturing the wooden surface with a bone-chilling thud.
(Karito) "NGH!"
(Psychopath) "GRAH!"
(Karito) Smirks "You just grazed me, you idiot."
(Psychopath) "Huh?"
With lightning-fast reflexes, I deftly maneuvered the table, tilting it sideways and causing one of its legs to collide forcefully with the deranged assailant's visage. Staggering backward, his mouth bloodied and broken, he struggled to regain his footing. Seizing the opportunity, I capitalized on his momentary vulnerability, delivering another resounding blow with the side of the table, exacerbating his injuries. As he writhed in pain, I swiftly brought the table crashing down, one of its legs smashing down upon his foot, eliciting a spine-chilling scream. Sensing his diminishing strength, I seized his face with an iron grip, forcefully smashing it against the table's surface, the machete he brandished now embedded in his own throat. Unflinchingly, I retrieved the blood-stained blade from beneath the table, and with a swift, decisive motion, I severed his head from his body, extinguishing the threat once and for all. Overwhelmed by the gravity of the moment, I found myself collapsing to the ground, the weight of my actions bearing down upon me. A searing heat coursed through my throat, yet I summoned every ounce of self-control to remain composed amidst the aftermath of this grisly scene.
(Karito) "God, that's gonna take a bit to get used to. Maybe not if I keep this up."
Before I could even catch my breath, the distinctive sound of a door swinging open reached my ears, alerting me to the imminent threat drawing near. My body tensed, preparing for yet another grueling confrontation. Little did I anticipate, however, the audacity of the intruder who flung a grenade into the confines of the interrogation room. In a sudden burst of expletives, my instinct compelled me to hastily seize the table and employ it as a makeshift shield, desperately seeking refuge amidst the chaos that unfolded. The detonation reverberated through the room, propelling me forcibly across the space, my body colliding with the unforgiving ground. Though a stifled groan of pain escaped my lips, I steadfastly suppressed any outward display of my suffering, acutely aware that four additional adversaries now loomed just outside the confines of the interrogation room.
Bereft of my customary arsenal of skills, I endeavored to navigate the ensuing peril with the utmost discretion, relying solely on my waning reserves of stealth and cunning. Maintaining an unwavering silence, I patiently awaited the opportune moment as the quartet ventured closer to the entrance, affording me the precious seconds required to execute a strategic flanking maneuver. Clutching the deceased detective's firearm tightly within my grasp, I deftly propelled myself through the shattered window, executing a nimble roll upon landing, swiftly confounding the four thugs with a rapid succession of precise gunshots.
In a stroke of improbable fortune, my aim proved true, dispatching each of them with uncanny efficiency. A sigh of frustration escaped my lips, an acknowledgment of the tumultuous path I had traversed thus far. Yet, with an indomitable resolve, I surveyed my surroundings, my gaze alighting upon the beacon of an illuminated exit sign. Instinctively, I surged forward, propelled by an unwavering determination to escape this veritable den of danger.
Advancing steadily towards the exit, the shadowy silhouette of two figures materialized behind the partially ajar door. They wasted no time in forcefully thrusting the door open, presenting themselves with a chilling air of menace. It was Tano and Tejo, the very individuals who had loomed large in the visions conjured by the enigmatic system. A curse escaped my lips, for their arrival spelled imminent peril, their AK-47s poised to rain down a barrage of lethal projectiles upon my defenseless form.
Swiftly discerning the impending onslaught, I sprang into action, nimbly seeking refuge behind a nearby wall, my heart pounding in tandem with each resounding discharge of their weapons. It was only a matter of moments before they exhausted their ammunition, affording me a fleeting window of opportunity to evade their lethal assault. Seizing the precious reprieve, I swiftly repositioned myself, dashing across the room to the safety of an alternate vantage point. Though Tano attempted to recalibrate his aim, his shots missed their intended mark. In the meantime, Tejo relinquished his AK-47 in favor of a more formidable weapon, his hands finding purchase upon a deadly shotgun.
(Tejo) "Turn the power back on."
(Tano) "Alright." Leaves
In the present moment, I adopted an air of stealth, deftly navigating the shadows with the utmost finesse. The cover of darkness provided a shield, concealing my presence from Tejo and his formidable shotgun. Employing a strategic dance of evasive movements, I artfully evaded his piercing gaze, ensuring my elusive nature remained intact. With each calculated step, I maintained a fluidity of motion, never lingering in one place long enough for him to ascertain my whereabouts. My aim was simple: to elude detection and retain the element of surprise.
(Tejo) "Oh Guardian.~"
With an unyielding determination, Tejo scoured the area in search of my concealed figure, his eyes scanning every nook and cranny. Yet, his efforts remained fruitless as I continued to elude his grasp, my presence melding seamlessly with the darkness. Tejo's attention was momentarily captivated by a minute gap behind a table, his smug expression betraying a false sense of victory. Little did he know, however, that it was a meticulously crafted ruse—a calculated diversion designed to lure him astray. Succumbing to his presumption, he discharged his weapon, obliterating the decoy in a burst of fiery fury.
As the haze of the power's activation gradually dissipated, I materialized from the shadows with calculated precision, poised for confrontation. The sudden reemergence temporarily stunned us both, our vision momentarily obscured by the harsh influx of light. In a fleeting moment of clarity, Tejo's gaze locked upon my figure, the recognition in his eyes betraying a mixture of trepidation and defiance. Reacting swiftly, he sought to regain control, steadying his shotgun with unwavering intent. However, I refused to yield, seizing the barrel of his weapon and redirecting its path, the clash of our physical forces echoing through the air. Tejo, undeterred by the setback, retaliated with a well-placed elbow to my abdomen, momentarily incapacitating me. Seizing the opportunity, he realigned his aim, intent on delivering a devastating blow. Yet, in a display of resourcefulness, I retaliated with a swift kick, disrupting his aim and causing his shot to ricochet harmlessly into the ceiling above.
Engulfed in the chaos of splintered wood and resounding gunfire, we both sought refuge within the debris, shielding ourselves from the relentless onslaught. Clutching the shotgun tightly, our hands locked in a relentless struggle for dominance. The weight of the weapon became a point of contention, each of us vying for control over its lethal potential. Moments stretched into an eternity as we grappled, the tension thick in the air.
A sinister grin danced upon Tejo's lips, his laughter mingling with the cacophony of the battle. With a swift motion, he cocked the shotgun, a clear display of his intent. The explosive discharge reverberated through the air, the force of the recoil crashing against my chest, momentarily staggering me. Sensing my vulnerability, Tejo capitalized on the moment, delivering a swift and punishing kick to my midsection, sending me sprawling to the ground.
As I struggled to regain my footing, Tejo proceeded to reload his weapon with cold determination, his eyes fixated on the area he believed me to be concealed within. Seizing the opportunity, I sought refuge beneath a vast expanse of table, silently maneuvering beneath its sheltering surface. Tejo, ever vigilant, approached the table cautiously, his gaze piercing through the remnants of the wreckage, searching for any sign of my presence.
Unbeknownst to him, I continued to crawl beneath the tables, my movements concealed by the chaos surrounding us. The sound of my shuffling movements betrayed my position, drawing Tejo's attention. With steely resolve, he retrieved additional shotgun shells, methodically reloading his weapon, his gaze transfixed upon the area he believed my presence to be rooted in.
(Karito) Thoughts "... One... two... Three... Four... Four shells..." Counting how many shells he has left
Engulfed in the fierce exchange of gunfire, I sought a momentary respite but found myself swiftly besieged by Tejo's relentless assault. My body instinctively propelled forward, narrowly evading the barrage of bullets that tore through the air around me. Fortune favored my movements, for Tejo's ammunition was swiftly depleted, leaving him momentarily vulnerable.
Summoning my courage, I leaped onto the adjacent table, seizing the opportunity to regain the upper hand. With his shotgun in the midst of reloading, Tejo's haste betrayed him as he attempted to thwart my advance. Undeterred, I launched myself at him, employing every ounce of my strength to elevate his body. In a display of raw power, his head became ensnared within an open-air vent, a testament to the force with which I propelled him downward onto the surface of the table.
Seizing control of his shotgun, I endeavored to wield it against him, our bodies locked in a struggle for dominance. Though the odds seemed to favor Tejo, his resolute determination gradually gaining the upper hand, I summoned forth a reservoir of strength that belied my precarious position. With unwavering resolve, I employed my might to counter his efforts, forcing the barrel of the shotgun perilously close to his cheek. In a moment of determination, I pulled the trigger, the resulting eruption of violence etching a grotesque tableau upon his countenance, as blood and flesh adorned the right side of his face.
Yet, Tejo's fortitude remained unyielding, his primal grunts echoing through the room, as he continued to grapple for control, undeterred by the grievous wound he now bore.
In a last-ditch effort, Tajo resorted to striking me with the blunt force of the gun's stock, propelling me backward. Despite my best intentions, I involuntarily relinquished my grip on the shotgun, and as I landed upon the table's surface, it slipped from my grasp. Scanning the area for its whereabouts, I discerned its location, only to have my attention abruptly diverted as Tajo seized hold of my foot, forcefully drawing me towards him.
With a swift motion, he turned me around, clutching my shirt in a vice-like grip, hoisting me upwards with an intimidating display of strength. I launched a punch towards his jaw, fueled by a resolute determination, but to my dismay, he absorbed the blow without faltering. Unrelenting, I unleashed a second strike, met with a similar outcome as he endured the impact with an indomitable resolve. Summoning my remaining strength, I delivered a final punch, only for Tajo to employ his own head as an impervious shield, exacting a painful toll upon my knuckles.
In a crescendo of frenzied madness, Tajo bellowed with the fervor of a deranged individual, unleashing a relentless barrage of punches upon my chest. Before I could regain my bearings, he culminated his assault with a spinning back kick directed squarely at my face. An agonized groan escaped my lips as I descended, tumbling down the length of the table, ultimately seeking refuge beneath it once more.
(Tejo) "Hiding again? The other Guardian had more balls than you! Come on, I still wanna play!"
With measured steps, I approached the table that had offered me temporary respite, my gaze fixed upon the aperture created by Tajo's ill-fated attempt to shoot me. As he curiously surveyed the opening, unaware of my presence, I emerged from the shadows, his shotgun grasped firmly within my grip. The metallic click of the weapon being cocked resonated through the air, signaling my readiness to unleash its lethal force.
(Karito) "But was he clever?"
(Tejo) "Oh fuck! Not bad you-"
I discharged a round from the shotgun, the force propelling Tajo's lifeless form across the expanse of the table. His journey came to a definitive end, marking the culmination of our brutal confrontation. Gathering myself, I approached his motionless body, only to be greeted by the ghastly sight of a cavernous cavity in his abdomen. Averting my gaze from the gruesome spectacle, I turned my attention elsewhere, only to find Tano positioned at the far end of the corridor, his eyes aflame with an unmistakable fury. My finger tensed on the trigger, poised to deliver a decisive blow, but as I pressed it... only the hollow sound of a mere click resonated through the air, leaving me bereft of ammunition.
(Karito) "What a fucking time to be empty..."
I see Tano, throw his gun away and I put mine on the table.
(Karito) "Mano a mano, huh?"
(Tano) "Just shut up and fight."
(Karito) "You're funeral."
With a resounding battle cry, Tano and I surged forward, our clash echoing with intensity. In a display of raw strength, he seized hold of me, hurtling my body against the unyielding wall. Undeterred, I swiftly braced my legs against its surface, propelling myself upward and executing a graceful somersault, defying gravity's pull. My descent brought me to the ground, landing on my back with calculated precision. In a seamless motion, Tano pivoted on his heel, aiming a forceful kick in my direction, only for me to adeptly strike the back of his knee, disrupting his balance and causing him to stumble. As he plummeted, he attempted to salvage the situation with an elbow strike, but my nimble evasion led him to inadvertently strike the unyielding ground. Seizing the opportunity, I unleashed a powerful kick to his chest, hoping to stem the relentless assault. Yet, he proved indomitable, relentless in his pursuit. Swiftly, I pivoted on my axis, my spinning kick connecting with his face, yet his resilience swiftly brought him back into the fray. With lightning reflexes, he lunged forward, seizing my incoming kick, thwarting my offensive maneuver.
With an unyielding grip, Tano hoisted my body and hurled me forcefully against a nearby table, the impact jolting through my frame. Swiftly seizing the advantage, he clutched my throat, his vice-like hold tightening as he forcefully drove me back onto the unforgiving surface. The weight of his assault constricted my airways, suffocating the breath from my lungs. In a desperate bid to free myself from his suffocating grasp, I unleashed a barrage of strikes, my fists finding their mark upon his jaw. Crimson droplets stained the air as his mouth yielded to the force of my relentless assault. Yet, even in the face of his own blood, he retaliated with a gruesome display, expectorating the crimson fluid onto my face, obscuring my vision and momentarily blinding me. Capitalizing on my compromised state, Tano delivered a bone-jarring impact, driving me once more into the unyielding surface of the table, further heightening the agony that coursed through my body.
(Karito) "NGH! YOU DISGUSTING FUCK!"
With nimble dexterity, Tano snatched a fire extinguisher from its mounting, wielding it as a formidable bludgeon. His ferocious swing found only empty air, as I deftly evaded the onslaught, compelling him to relinquish his improvised weapon. Scanning my surroundings for a means of defense, my gaze alighted upon a telephone, its receiver poised for potential retribution. Swiftly seizing the instrument, I unleashed its fury upon Tano's visage, the impact cleaving open a jagged wound upon his forehead. Sensing an opportunity to assert my dominance, I utilized the table as a fulcrum, augmenting the force of my strike as I propelled him backward, creating a precious respite from his relentless onslaught.
In a moment of serendipity, my eyes alighted upon a paper-cutting apparatus, a seemingly innocuous object now poised to serve as a deadly implement. Hastening toward this unexpected weapon, I seized the cutter handle, its blade gleaming with lethal intent. Charging forth with newfound resolve, I directed the blade toward Tano, intent on piercing his defenses. Yet, to my astonishment, he thwarted my assault, interposing his forearm to halt the weapon's advance, leaving it ensnared within his flesh.
Undeterred, I rained a succession of blows upon the trapped handle, hoping to drive it deeper into his arm, but to no avail. Swift retaliation followed, as Tano launched a powerful hammer fist, yet my trained instincts enabled me to parry his attack, responding with a rapid jab and an uppercut that found its mark upon his rugged countenance. Recovering his composure with remarkable celerity, he clutched my shoulder, propelling a savage headbutt directly into my nose, the impact reverberating through my skull. I staggered, my body recoiling from the force of his assault, before succumbing to the onslaught and collapsing upon the unforgiving floor. Summoning my indomitable spirit, I rose to my feet, an indignant cough punctuating the air, as I fixed my unwavering gaze upon Tano, who defiantly extracted the embedded cutter handle from his forearm.
(Karito) "You are one tanky bastard. I would have ended you quicker if I had my web shooters... But someone had to cancel my shit!"
(Tano) "COME ON!"
(Karito) "RAAHHHH!"
(Tano) "NGHAAAA!"
With swift reflexes, I intercepted Tano's downward slash, redirecting his hand forcefully onto a nearby table. Seizing the opportunity, I lunged forward, propelling my entire body weight into a body slam that sent him crashing into another table. Eager to capitalize on my advantage, I unleashed a barrage of punches, yet Tano skillfully countered with a well-placed elbow strike, forcing me to momentarily retreat. My gaze fell upon an antiquated typewriter, its sturdy frame beckoning me with untapped potential. As Tano swung his mighty fist toward my face, I deftly evaded the blow and wielded the typewriter as a defensive shield. To his dismay, the force of his punch drove his hand into the intricacies of the machine, eliciting a symphony of anguish as metal parts pierced his flesh. Seizing the moment, I forcefully slammed the typewriter onto the table, exacerbating his torment. Desperate to regain control, Tano retaliated with a punch aimed squarely at my face, which I narrowly evaded. With a sudden burst of strength, he propelled me toward the wall, but my evasive maneuvers caused his own spiked fist to collide with unyielding concrete, intensifying his suffering. In a swift counterattack, I unleashed a flurry of punches to his abdomen, leaving him staggered. Utilizing my legs as instruments of precision, I executed a well-aimed kick to his knee, shattering bone and exposing the grotesque evidence of our battle.
With a fierce cry, my adversary writhed in agony, attempting to retaliate with a desperate headbutt. Swiftly, I countered his attack, intercepting his forehead with the sharp impact of my elbow. The force of the blow sent him crashing onto a nearby table, momentarily stunned. Seizing the opportunity, I deftly maneuvered over the table, firmly grasping one of Tano's arms. With calculated precision, I exerted pressure, wrenching his arm in an unnatural direction, causing it to painfully dislocate. Swiftly turning him around, I propelled his dazed form onto the table, his face meeting the unforgiving surface with a resounding thud. Unyielding, I unleashed a relentless barrage of strikes upon him, each blow calculated to shatter bones and render his face an unrecognizable mass of broken features. With a measured judgment, I eventually deemed it sufficient, having delivered sufficient retribution for his malevolence.
(Karito) "Tch... Fuck you. I'm warning you, stay down."
As I continued my deliberate stride towards the exit, a faint sense of weariness settled upon me, the weight of the relentless battle bearing down upon my body and mind. My hand instinctively reached up, cradling my throbbing head, a silent acknowledgment of the toll exacted by the intense encounter. However, amidst this moment of respite, a telltale sound reverberated through the air—the distinctive shuffling of Tano's limping footsteps drawing nearer. With a sudden surge of determination, he lunged at me, attempting to seize control with a rear-naked choke. Yet, his efforts proved feeble, for the damage inflicted upon his arm had rendered his technique ineffective, a testament to his own miscalculations.
(Tano) "Wanna... Know... What... I... Did... To... That... Bitch... Of... Your's?" Chuckles
(Karito) "YOU MOTHER FUCKER!"
With a swift and calculated maneuver, I delivered a forceful elbow strike to Tano's chest, causing him to release his grip and relinquish his hold on me. Seizing the opportunity, I swiftly transitioned to a dominant position, mounting him on the ground. The weight of my body pressed down upon him as I unleashed a relentless barrage of strikes, each blow landing with precision and intent. The symphony of impact filled the air, the rhythm of my assault resonating with calculated ferocity.
(Karito) "WHERE IS SHE?!"
(Tano) Spits blood on Karito's face and tries to choke him
In the throes of unbridled fury, my strikes grew increasingly forceful, each blow delivering a devastating impact to Tano's vulnerable visage. With each punch and elbow, a symphony of violence unfolded, each strike driven by an unyielding surge of anger and determination. The sheer power behind my onslaught was palpable, as bone shattered and flesh gave way beneath my relentless assault. The grotesque aftermath of my ferocity became evident as fragments of skull and brain matter mingled with the crimson spatters of blood on my clenched fist. In a final act of devastating force, I unleashed a blow that obliterated Tano's face, leaving nothing but a gruesome tableau of destruction.
As I stood amidst the aftermath, my breaths labored and heavy, I surveyed the brutal scene I had created. An unfamiliar numbness enveloped me, drowning out any trace of empathy or remorse. Ignoring the pleas of my weary body, I resolved to seize the shotgun that lay nearby, along with the ammunition scattered amidst the remains of Tajo's lifeless body. Gathering the tools of my trade, I turned to depart, my mind consumed by the urgent need to escape the relentless cycle of violence.
Yet, just as I prepared to leave, a phone hidden among Tajo's belongings began to ring, its insistent chimes cutting through the heavy silence. Driven by curiosity and an instinct to confront the unknown, I retraced my steps and retrieved the phone. Though the number remained concealed behind a veil of anonymity, a persistent resolve compelled me to answer the call, eager to uncover the secrets that lay on the other end of the line.
(Lee) A phone call "Don't kill him. Tell him that we found his woman and soon she will get caught." Only heard the heavy breathing from Karito "Tejo?"
(Karito) "I'm still here. And I'll be coming for you."
(Lee) Silence "..." Continues to speak "Your a lot more annoying than your predecessors."
(Karito) "You just pissed off the wrong person, that's why I'm very annoying."
(Lee) "Very impressive. You might actually entertain me." Sends his GPS location and hangs up
(Karito) "Tch... The bastard treats this like a game. He will regret it once I stab a tree branch in his chest."
Emerging from the confines of the police station, my gaze swept across the surrounding landscape in search of a suitable means of transportation. Fortune smiled upon me as I laid eyes upon a rugged off-road motorcycle, its keys conveniently left in the ignition. A wry smile played upon my lips as I approached the machine, appreciating the folly of those who failed to guard against such blatant oversights. With a twist of the key, the motorcycle's engine roared to life, its powerful vibrations resonating through my being.
Consulting the coordinates relayed by Lee, the enigmatic figure who had woven a web of mystery and danger around my existence, I set my sights upon the designated destination. Guided by the pulsating beacon on the GPS, I navigated the winding roads and treacherous paths with unwavering determination. The wind whipped against my face, carrying the whispers of adrenaline and urgency as I pressed onward.

Early morning
I've been on the road for what feels like ages, cruising through the night. Eventually, I found myself deep in a massive forest according to the GPS. There was a cozy little cabin tucked away in the trees, so I decided to ditch the vehicle and continue on foot. I grabbed my weapons and took out my phone for some much-needed light. It was still pretty dark, even though dawn was creeping in.
With my flashlight guiding the way, I ventured into the forest. The GPS kept me on track, ensuring I didn't lose my bearings. It was a bit eerie, trudging through the dimly lit trails, but I kept my cool. The surroundings were still veiled in darkness, courtesy of the thick foliage overhead.
No matter, I kept pushing forward, relying on the trusty glow of my phone to show me the path. The first signs of daylight were starting to peek through the trees, but the forest remained a mysterious realm. It didn't faze me, though. I stayed focused, one step at a time, determined to reach my destination and unravel the secrets that awaited me.
Small-time skip
As I wandered through the forest, feeling annoyed and confused, my phone decided to give up on me. Typical, right? So here I was, clueless and strolling around in broad daylight. Just my luck.
But hey, what's that over there? A hole in the ground with a bucket beside it. Great, maybe I can at least find some water to quench my thirst. I peered into the pit, only to be greeted with disappointment. It seemed to stretch deeper and deeper, teasing me with visions that invaded my mind.
I saw a bunch of kids trapped down there, starving and desperate for a drop of water. It was like some messed-up survival game. Apparently, only a select few would make it out alive, handpicked by this Lee character. Talk about a messed-up way to adopt kids and turn them into killers.
The whole situation left a bitter taste in my mouth. I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger mixed with sadness. People like Lee deserved a taste of their own medicine.
(???) "Did you see? Did you see the visions from that fucking place? The memories?" Starts slowly walking "Yeah... You saw what happens in there. He threw me in there, Lee. It's what separates him from other scum. He took me from my parents. He taught me and the others how to survive and how to kill. Days, even weeks, without food or water." Sighs "Yet... That suffering is what turned me and the others into brothers and sisters." Grabs a container of water and throws it at Karito
(Karito) Catches it and starts drinking
(???) "Didn't even hesitate, huh? What if I poisoned it?"
(Karito) "You wouldn't do that, Besi. You also know it, that's not how it ends." Continues drinking
(Besi) Takes his glasses off and wipes them "Yeah. A bottle of water could turn desperate kids into murderers... Hence, the father from hell."
(Karito) "If you are talking this way about him, why are you still with him?"
(Besi) "Everyone has to choose a side. Following that fucker is my fate."
(Karito) "And who the hell decided that? You? Because your life went into absolute shit you think you have no other choice but to follow the man that made you suffer since you were a child?"
(Besi) "What do you know!? Don't talk to me like you know what's best for me! Hell, why are you here? Why don't you just run away and live your life, huh?"
(Karito) "Because I'm just like you in that department. It's my fate to take down the Darks. I chose this because I don't want people to suffer... You on the other hand gave up and didn't do anything about it!"
(Besi) "...Back off and I'll let you live."
(Karito) "Besi... You know I can't do that."
(Besi) "Don't say I didn't warn you." Pulls out his metal baton
(Karito) "Those are your final words?" Cocks shotgun
I cautiously made my way toward Basi as he backed away. He ducked behind a tree, and I followed suit, curious to see what he was up to.
(Besi) Echo "This won't be as easy as Tejo and Tano."
As I positioned myself behind the tree, I instinctively raised my weapon, ready to confront Basi. But to my surprise, he seemed to have vanished into thin air. I carefully scanned the area, my heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and uncertainty. Every rustle of leaves and flicker of movement caught my attention as I diligently assessed my surroundings, trying to make sense of Basi's mysterious disappearance.
(Karito) "What the fuck? This man just teleported or something?" Continues to check the area
As I continued cautiously through the surroundings, my grip firm on the shotgun, my heightened senses kept me acutely aware of any potential threats. The rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins compensated for the absence of my usual skills, relying solely on my boosted stats to navigate this intense encounter.
Suddenly, my instincts compelled me to glance upward, and there he was—Besi, poised like an eagle, fixated on his target. With remarkable agility, he leaped down from the tree, swiftly engaging me in combat. I braced myself, using the shotgun to intercept his relentless strikes. Besi's precision and power were evident, making each clash a test of strength and technique.
I skillfully evaded his attacks, swiftly swaying to the sides to avoid the full impact of his baton. Yet, his tenacity remained unwavering as he launched a forceful tackle, demanding every ounce of my resistance. His blows found their mark, landing on my shoulder and ribs, eliciting grunts of pain. In response, I maintained my focus, blocking his baton with the shotgun, determined not to yield.
Besi pressed on, delivering a downward strike that I deftly blocked. Seizing the opportunity, I retaliated with a swift front kick that temporarily winded him. However, he remained undeterred, launching another onslaught. My defense was tested, straining to withstand the barrage with the shotgun as my shield.
In a moment of desperation, I took aim at Besi, but his agile reflexes allowed him to evade the shot, swiftly retaliating by striking the side of my neck with his baton. The force spun me around, unbalancing me and driving me to my knees as my weapon was kicked out of reach. He seized the advantage, charging forward with a ferocious blow that connected with my face, sending waves of pain coursing through me.
I found myself dazed and disoriented after the brutal assault, my mouth filled with the metallic taste of blood. Grimacing in pain, I clutched the areas where Besi's baton had struck, aching muscles protesting with each movement. The bruised flesh darkened, appearing more menacing as time passed, serving as a visual reminder of the damage inflicted.
Summoning every ounce of resilience, I clenched my teeth and gradually rose to my feet. Besi stood before me, assuming a combative stance, his gaze fixed on my battered form. Determined not to succumb to the pain, I pressed on, gritting my teeth in defiance. The corners of his lips curled into a mocking smirk, which only fueled my determination. In a daring display, I mimicked his actions, evoking a flicker of frustration in his eyes. Ah, struck a nerve, did I?
Fuelled by a potent mix of anger and adrenaline, Besi unleashed a furious swing, which I skillfully evaded, ducking beneath his assault. Attempting to trip me, he seized my leg, but I deftly spun above him, evading his grasp. As he aimed a powerful strike toward my chest, I seized his arm, determined to incapacitate him. Yet, with a swift maneuver, he transferred the baton to his other hand, launching another relentless attack.
In a near-miss, Besi's baton collided with a nearby tree, obliterating it in a shower of splintered wood. Grateful for my reflexes, I surveyed the aftermath, realizing that the outcome could have been far more devastating. Gaining some distance, I prepared to face his intensified onslaught, deftly dodging and weaving to evade his swift strikes. The velocity of his blows forced me to employ increasingly unorthodox evasive maneuvers.
Using my agility, I intercepted his forearm mid-swing, attempting to thwart his attacks. Yet, with remarkable dexterity, Besi nimbly transitioned to his free hand, rendering my defenses momentarily ineffective. A downward strike aimed at me narrowly missed its mark, allowing me to seize his arm and execute a flawless throw, sending him sprawling to the ground. Swiftly seizing the opportunity, I aimed a powerful stomp toward his face, but he evaded at the last moment. Nevertheless, I managed to disarm him, twirling the baton skillfully in my grip before delivering a forceful strike to his chest. Surprisingly, he caught me mid-swing, retaliating with two swift kicks to my face, sending me crashing to the ground alongside him.
Undeterred, both of us swiftly rose to our feet, resolute in our determination to overcome one another. This time, armed with his weapon, I initiated another clash. My downswing was intercepted by his firm grip, met with an open-palmed strike to my stomach, and an iron grip clenching around my neck. Fueled by fury, I unleashed a flurry of baton strikes, but Besi evaded them deftly until one landed with a resounding impact on his ribs, eliciting a pained grunt.
Seizing the opportunity, I attempted to choke him with the baton, but his swift spin and skillful maneuver allowed him to retaliate with knee strikes to my stomach. Grimacing in pain, I relinquished my hold on the weapon, enduring the ache as I targeted the sides of his knees with my elbows, forcing him to kneel. Despite the searing agony coursing through my body, I fought on, snatching back the baton. As I struck him, we both regained our footing, engaging in a fierce exchange.
Besi launched a series of kicks, two of which I skillfully blocked, but his final wide swing missed its intended mark. Seizing the opportunity, I delivered a resolute punch to his face, triggering a surge of anger within him. With a swift backhand strike to my cheek, he spun me around and attempted to slam my face into the ground. Reacting with split-second agility, I rolled away, narrowly avoiding the devastating blow, which left a deep crater in the earth where I had previously stood. My relief was short-lived, as Besi sprinted toward me, connecting a forceful blow to my stomach with his baton. Fear gripped me as I witnessed the intensity in his eyes, an enraged expression that foretold a merciless assault.
In a relentless barrage, Besi swung his metal baton with unbridled fury, and though I valiantly attempted to block each attack, my arms strained under the onslaught. Pain coursed through me as I absorbed blow after blow, enduring the punishing impact with diminishing defenses. The assault persisted for what felt like an eternity, a full ten seconds of agony as my body screamed in protest. Finally, my anguish erupted into a desperate scream, unleashing a surge of primal strength, propelling me to deliver a fierce front kick that sent Besi hurtling backward.
Screaming in anguish, my body pulsating with pain, I struggled to my feet. My forearms throbbed, battered and bruised, while my shoulders cried out in protest.
(Karito) "NGHAAA! YOU BASTARD!"
(Besi) Spits out blood and takes his jacket off "Come on! Here comes the final drill!"
I assumed a determined stance, my fist tightly clenched, as the resonating cracks of my bones reverberated through the air.
(Karito) "HAAAA!"
(Besi) "GRAAAAA!"
Amidst our fierce clash, Besi unleashed an unyielding barrage of strikes upon my defense, overwhelming my arms with their relentless force. Despite my best efforts to block his onslaught, it proved to be too much to bear. Yet, in that critical moment, a sudden surge of inner energy coursed through my being, fueling my determination. With a resounding scream that echoed through the air, I seized the opportunity, grasping Besi's baton with unwavering resolve. Summoning every ounce of strength within me, I channeled it into a devastating blow aimed squarely at his face, causing him to recoil in shock. The impact was such that saliva erupted from his mouth, suspended momentarily in the air, as his head jerked violently backward.
As I lay on the ground, my gaze fixed upon Besi's battered visage, I couldn't help but be overcome with a mix of emotions. His face bore the marks of our brutal confrontation, painted in hues of black and red, his eyes now tinged with bleeding crimson. With a tender touch, he gingerly assessed the damage, his movements unsteady, reminiscent of a man inebriated. Despite the pain coursing through my arms, I summoned the strength to rise and followed his stumbling path, driven by an unspoken understanding. The sound of crashing waves grew louder with each step, guiding me to his chosen haven - the tranquil shoreline. There, I found Besi, knelt upon the sand, his gaze fixed downward, a macabre symphony of blood trickling from his mouth, nose, and eyes. At that moment, a sense of empathy washed over me, an unexpected sentiment for one I had battled so fiercely. Amidst the countless Dark adversaries I had vanquished, Besi stood apart - a soul who had, in some strange way, extended me a reprieve. I offered my silent gratitude to him, tinged with a feeling of profound sorrow for the burdens he had borne. Life's unfairness loomed heavily in the air, an unwelcome companion to the somber scene.
In the midst of this poignant moment, the tranquility was abruptly shattered by the sound of splintering branches. I turned my gaze, only to behold a mysterious woman emerging from the shadows, her presence commanding and her intent clear - she sought my demise. Without hesitation, she unleashed a barrage of bullets in my direction, prompting an instinctual surge of adrenaline. I sprinted towards a colossal rock, seeking refuge behind its imposing mass. Carefully peering out from my vantage point, I observed the woman's attention momentarily diverted towards Basi's lifeless form, confirming my suspicion that she must be the sister he had spoken of before our fierce encounter. As her gaze shifted towards my place of concealment, a resolve welled within me. Utilizing the surrounding foliage to my advantage, I adroitly melted into the natural cover, remaining undetected as she cautiously approached, scouring the area in search of her quarry.
(???) "WHO ELSE ARE YOU GONNA TAKE?! HE WAS ON YOUR SIDE! HE GAVE YOU A CHANCE THE OTHERS DIDN'T AND YOU SPAT ON HIS FACE! WHO ELSE?! WHO ELSE ARE YOU GONNA TAKE AWAY FROM US?! "
Emerging from the shrouded recesses of darkness, I materialized before her with calculated precision. Seizing a handful of sand, I swiftly cast it towards her countenance, obscuring her vision and momentarily disorienting her. Capitalizing on her momentary vulnerability, I deftly seized her outstretched hand and effortlessly dispatched a forceful kick, propelling her body backwards to the ground. With an unwavering determination, I swiftly closed the distance between us, weapon in hand, its sights trained unwaveringly upon her form.
(???) "You won't even bother asking my name before killing me? You aren't any different from us."
(Karito) "I know who you are, Rika. I have seen visions of what happens here... The horrors this place has been through. I also know you put a bullet on a Guardian's head."
(Rika) "Yeah, I did. What are you gonna do about it?"
(Karito) "Take me to where Lee is."
(Rika) Starts to lead him "I don't know what makes me sadder. The fact that you are forced to kill people who the God's claim to be pure evil or the state you are in."
(Karito) "Just keep fucking moving."
(Rika) Stops "And if I don't."
(Karito) Gets angry "I am fucking tired of everyone testing my patience! Do you know why I kill people like you?! YOU WANNA KNOW?!"
(Rika) "Enlighten me."
(Karito) "Because every time I meet one of you, chaos always happens. No matter what. The first time I faced a Dark he used children to fight me! FUCKING CHILDREN! The second time I face a Dark he made a nuclear factory and I can guess what he was gonna use that for! And finally, I faced a Dark that wanted to cause GLOBAL FUCKING EXTINCTION! DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHERE I'M COMING FROM?!"
(Rika) "Guess you were unlucky."
(Karito) "No fucking shit, Rika. But, maybe! MAYBE! Basi could have been different. But guess what, he had undying loyalty for the Darks, making us enemies. Do you think I felt good when I killed him?"
(Rika) "You telling me you didn't feel good when you killed my kind?"
(Karito) "NO, I DIDN'T! FUCK YOU! He was the only one that gave me chance while every single one of you tried to kill me on sight!... Sure, maybe not all Darks are bad but you have all currently done a horrible first impression on me, so I have huge trust issues when it's about you guys!"
(Rika) "Well, I guess you have to kill one more of us."
In a display of unexpected resourcefulness, she deftly produced a concealed blade from within the folds of her jacket, wielding it with calculated grace. Swiftly and with unwavering precision, she lashed out, her blade finding its mark upon my vulnerable wrist. The searing pain that coursed through my arm forced me to relinquish my grip on the firearm, its weight slipping from my grasp as my fingers involuntarily released their grip.
(Karito) "Don't do this. Please."
(Rika) "I'm not letting you kill Father." She takes off her jacket and prepares to fight
(Karito) "Tch... Why does no one here give me a break?" Throws his jacket as well
In a sudden interruption that shattered the tension-laden atmosphere, a piercing scream echoed through the forest, abruptly halting our impending clash. The shrill cry reverberated through the trees, sending shivers down our spines and momentarily freezing us in our tracks. Our attention was forcefully diverted from our impending confrontation as we both turned our heads towards the source of the disturbance, our gazes locked in a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
(Yelena) "HEY RIKA! Pick someone your own size!"
(Rika) "Tch, Yelena. You traitor."
(Karito) "Yelena, your alive!"
(Yelena) "Of course, and you thought I was gonna die so easily from these dudes?"
(Karito) "No?"
(Rika) "How did you get here?"
(Yelena) "You think I don't know my way back to my old home?"
So, turns out Yelena went through the same crap as the other Darks, but she managed to escape. She's been helping out the old Guardians in their fight against Lee all this time. Gotta admit, that's pretty badass.
(Yelena) "Here." Throws a map
(Karito) Catches it "What's this?"
(Rika) "You bitch!" Attacks Karito
(Yelena) "No, you don't!" Side kicks Rika away from Karito "Go I got this!"
(Karito) "How are you gonna beat a Dark?!"
(Yelena) "Don't worry, one of the Guardians left me a gift." Presses her chest and her clothes change into a white suit "I'm fully aware I'm Black Widow's sister in another dimension. With this, I have the skills of the other me in Marvel. Also, this has the influence of a Guardian."
(Rika) "Tch. Had to complicate things."
(Karito) "But-"
(Yelena) "Go! I got this! You know I won't lose with this." Smirks
I figured it would be best if I let Yelena handle Rika while I made my way to the main base. Splitting up our forces seemed like a smart move, allowing us to tackle different targets simultaneously. So, with that plan in mind, I set off towards the main base, ready to face whatever challenges awaited me along the way.
(Rika) "Ready to get your ass handed a 5th time?"
(Yelena) "I have a feeling this time... This time we will win."
The two adversaries swiftly closed the distance between them, their determination evident in their focused gazes. As their fists collided, an exchange of force and energy reverberated through the air.
Small-time skip
As I diligently followed the route meticulously charted by Yelena, the atmosphere grew increasingly ominous. The once serene sky transformed into a foreboding canvas of darkened clouds, accompanied by the distant rumble of thunder. The journey brought me nearer to my intended destination, but just as I pressed on, my phone came to life, signaling an incoming call from none other than Lee himself. Contemplating the situation, I opted to answer the call, eager to ascertain his intentions.
(Karito) "I know everything you did. How you raised kids to be wolves... All you ever thought of them was how good they were in the killing section."
(Lee) "... It was meant to make them stronger."
(Karito) "Maybe so. But it's all apparent now. You're neither a legend nor a father... Just an old man who bullies kids." Sees a log and wipes away some leaves that covered a sentence that said: "Free or Die." "In the end, you made a mistake."
(Lee) "Alright then, why don't you just drop by, huh? We'll settle this."
(Karito) "I'm already here."
I disconnected the call with a resolute gesture, fixing my gaze upon a concealed bunker veiled by interwoven branches and foliage. Within its midst stood a crimson-hued door, beckoning my approach. With deliberate steps, I advanced, granting entry to a scene of imminent carnage.
A guard materialized before me, but swift was my reaction as I unleashed a devastating blow to his countenance, sending him crashing to the ground. Seizing his Ak-47, I ensured his demise with a single, fatal shot. Surveying my surroundings, I witnessed a tide of adversaries advancing, their intentions clear. Responding with lethal precision, I systematically dispatched them all, their futile resistance fueling my resolve.
As the onslaught threatened to overwhelm me, I sought refuge behind a sturdy metal table, employing its protective embrace as I continued to lay waste to my adversaries. When the barrage subsided, I pressed onward, retrieving ammunition from fallen foes' magazines to fortify my arsenal. Each encounter with the Dark soldiers was met with swift retribution until I chanced upon an area reminiscent of a grim penitentiary.
Opening one door, my eyes fell upon imprisoned women and children, their fearful gazes reflecting their plight. Sensing my purpose, I left the door ajar, proceeding to liberate each captive by unlocking their confinements. Room after room, I orchestrated their release, witnessing a transformation from fear to gratitude in their eyes. Guiding them toward the path of salvation, I directed their collective exodus, ensuring their safety.
But amidst this triumph, a confrontation loomed. My gaze locked with Lee, an embodiment of malevolence in a room laden with the pungent scent of drugs. In a surge of unbridled aggression, he lunged, aiming a forceful blow downward. Swift reflexes allowed me to intercept the strike, yet his cunning elicited an elbow to my visage, staggering me several paces backward, my descent halted only by the cold, unforgiving floor.
(Lee) "Look at me."
(Karito) Looks
(Lee) "You are just a fucking dog who gets told what to do and he obeys."
(Karito) Stands up "What did you just fucking say?!"
(Lee) "You are nothing but A FUCKING DOG!"
(Karito) "That's fucking rich coming from you. What were children doing on the back, huh? Are they gonna be your new killing machines? And the women, ARE THEY JUST YOUR FUCKING TOYS FOR YOUR MEN TO PLAY WITH?!"
(Lee) "YOU KILLED MY CHILDREN!"
(Karito) "THEY LOST THEIR LIVES THE MOMENT YOU APPEARED!"
(Lee) "NO! NO! NO! I LOVED MY CHILDREN!"
(Karito) "No... You stole them from their families... Because you never had one, to begin with."
(Lee) "... Take that back."
(Karito) "Fuck you..."
(Lee) "So be it."
We assumed our poised stances, our eyes locked in an unyielding display of animosity. The weight of his presence bore down upon me, unsettling my equilibrium, as an ominous anticipation hung in the air. One final encounter, destined to culminate in the annihilation of one another, poised to unfold.
In that fleeting moment, our gazes interlocked, a silent exchange that conveyed volumes of contempt and determination. It was an instant pregnant with the weight of our shared history, the culmination of a relentless pursuit that had spanned countless trials. And then, without further preamble, the tempest was unleashed.
I initiated the confrontation with a swift and calculated kick, only to find my opponent, Lee, deftly intercepting the strike and countering with a forceful kick to my chest. Undeterred, I unleashed a flurry of strikes, each aimed with precision, yet Lee exhibited an uncanny ability to evade my every attack. In a display of exceptional agility, he swiftly delivered an uppercut to my abdomen, causing me to momentarily lose my breath.
The sheer power behind his next move left me reeling. With a single backhanded blow, Lee unleashed an otherworldly force upon my visage, threatening to disorient me completely. My body struggled to maintain its equilibrium, teetering on the precipice of submission. In an act of sheer dominance, he seized my form, tightening his grip with an iron-like strength that rendered me immobile.
Exerting every ounce of my will, I sought to extricate myself from his clutches. My initial attempts to weaken his grasp proved fruitless, as his fortitude remained resolute. Yet, driven by an indomitable spirit, I persevered, aiming to compromise his hold through repeated strikes to his arms. Finally, on my third attempt, my efforts bore fruit as he released his vice-like grip, momentarily disoriented.
Seizing the opportune moment, I retaliated with a well-placed and powerful elbow strike to his countenance. The impact staggered Lee, briefly disrupting his equilibrium. However, his resilience shone through as he swiftly regained his footing, ready to continue our relentless clash.
Having managed to break free from his grip, I momentarily created a sliver of distance between us. However, Lee's tenacity knew no bounds as he lunged forward once again, seeking to ensnare me in his clutches. My efforts to repel him proved partially successful, yet he managed to inflict a deep, searing pain upon my arm, his sharp nails leaving a trail of crimson in their wake. The anguished cry that escaped my lips reverberated through the air.
Summoning my resolve, I retaliated with a forceful kick, propelling him away from me. Yet, his relentless assault persisted unabated. With an unyielding determination, he sought to deliver a fatal blow by driving his razor-like nails into my vulnerable abdomen. Instinctively, I thwarted his attack, summoning every ounce of strength to block the imminent strike.
Stepping back, Lee momentarily retracted, seemingly assessing his next course of action. Swiftly, he unleashed a barrage of strikes, aimed with pinpoint accuracy towards my head. Time and again, I managed to evade his lightning-fast assaults, defying the limitations of my reflexes. Despite my valiant efforts, his speed and agility proved insurmountable, leaving me momentarily exposed and susceptible to his predatory advances.
Capitalizing on my temporary vulnerability, Lee unleashed a dual onslaught, propelling a pair of devastating punches towards my chest and abdomen. The sheer impact sent me hurtling through the air, crashing mercilessly against the unforgiving surface of the opposite wall. The excruciating pain that engulfed my body served as a stark reminder of the perilous nature of our confrontation.
Groaning in agony, I spewed forth a vile mixture of blood and saliva, my body wracked with pain as I clutched my battered form. Lee's insufferable smirk only served to intensify my irritation, fueling my determination to retaliate. Summoning every ounce of resolve, I rose defiantly, launching a flurry of strikes, a whirlwind of kicks and punches that sought to breach his defenses. Yet, with disconcerting ease, he deflected my assault, leaving me momentarily disillusioned.
Locked in a tense dance of attack and defense, our movements intertwined in a relentless symphony of violence. My grip tightened around one of his limbs, intent on breaking it with a resounding snap, only to be thwarted by his unwavering resilience. Seizing the opportunity, I abruptly disengaged, delivering a fierce elbow strike to his chest, a desperate bid to create a precious moment of respite. Alas, my reprieve was short-lived as Lee swiftly retaliated, his blows finding their mark with alarming precision, ravaging my vulnerable frame and forcing me to my knees, a sharp pang radiating from the side of my knee where his kick landed.
His aggression knew no bounds as he sought to seize my hair, but my determination refused to yield. In a swift motion, he redirected his assault, his sharpened nails digging mercilessly into my throat. The sickening squelch of flesh meeting flesh reverberated in my ears as I felt my neck being ravaged, the searing pain threatening to consume me. Summoning my waning strength, I struck his elbow, forcing him to release his vice-like grip. Capitalizing on the momentary reprieve, I unleashed a furious uppercut to his abdomen, followed by a relentless barrage of blows, each strike leaving an indelible mark upon his countenance. My final onslaught culminated in a thunderous hammer fist, yet his defense remained resolute, blocking my ferocious assault.
Undeterred, I shifted tactics, attempting to ensnare him in a rear-choke hold, a maneuver designed to sap his strength. However, my efforts were in vain as he deftly eluded my grasp, his tenacity unwavering. With blinding speed, he seized my outstretched hand, intent on inflicting maximum pain by contorting it beyond its limits. In a desperate bid for survival, I clamped my hand around his jaw, eliciting a pained grimace from his features. Summoning the last vestiges of my strength, I executed a swift judo throw, propelling him forcefully behind me, leaving us both sprawled on the unforgiving ground, wracked with agony.
Struggling to rise, my movements sluggish and labored, I found myself at the mercy of Lee's rapid recovery. In a cruel display of dominance, he callously dragged my face against the unyielding surface, each impact punctuated by a series of savage punches that left my visage distorted and bruised, my right eye bearing the brunt of his assault. Desperation fueled my resolve as I sought to regain control, yet his swift headbutt connected with my face, reverberating through my skull, the resultant concussion threatening to send me spiraling into darkness.
As the ringing in my ears subsided, a surge of realization washed over me. The notifications on my system unveiled a remarkable development.
"Skill Hacker had successfully breached the blockade, reclaiming control of Player's dormant powers."
A renewed sense of purpose coursed through my veins as I swiftly regained my composure.
Just as Lee's devastating blow was poised to descend upon me, I summoned my own reserves of power, unleashing a counterattack that reverberated through the air, unleashing a formidable shockwave upon impact. Caught off guard by my sudden resurgence, Lee launched into a frenzied barrage of strikes, his fists a blur of deadly intent. Yet, buoyed by the resurgence of my abilities, I managed to deftly parry and block the majority of his onslaught, though a spinning kick landed with enough force to momentarily stagger me.
Fueled by a burning rage, Lee seized me by the throat, driving me mercilessly into the unforgiving wall. The impact jarred my senses, and an excruciating pain radiated through my jaw as his elbow connected with devastating precision. His nails tore through my flesh, piercing my stomach once again, eliciting an anguished cry from my lips. Summoning every ounce of strength, I retaliated, launching a fierce shoulder strike that created a momentary distance between us. Alas, my efforts proved futile as his knee collided with my face, propelling me back into the wall.
Determined to shift the tides in my favor, I deftly sidestepped his subsequent knee strike, seizing the opportunity to forcefully drive his face into the unyielding surface. However, my temporary advantage was short-lived, as a barrage of punishing blows rained down upon me, each strike resonating with bone-cracking force. I fought valiantly to ward off his assault, my arms straining to absorb the impact, but his relentless onslaught seemed unstoppable, his fists threatening to cleave through the very wall behind me. With a final flourish, he delivered a devastating elbow strike to my clavicle, its intensity leaving me questioning its structural integrity.
Reacting with lightning speed, Lee swiftly forced me down to my knees, his boot connecting with my face in a brutal display of dominance. My head collided with the unforgiving wall, the impact echoing through the chamber as pain radiated through my skull.
As my body collided with the unforgiving ground, a wave of dizziness swept over me. Lying there, I found myself fixated upon the intricate patterns adorning the ceiling above, my mind drifting into a realm of detached contemplation.
In this moment of introspection, Lee loomed over me, his clenched fists bearing witness to the evidence of our fierce encounter—my blood. Displaying an unexpected gesture of camaraderie amidst the chaos, he knelt down beside me and gently tapped my shoulder, a gesture that spoke volumes of the unspoken understanding forged in the crucible of combat.
(Lee) "Oh, Guardian..." Hold my cheek "You know, seeing you closer you're definitely different from the other Guardians. I remember the first one I killed, he was an expert martial artist with many different abilities... But he fell when I blocked them of their main power sources, turning the supposed heroes into cowards. They begged me to spare them but why should I? They came into this dimension with such Alpha personalities and the moment I take away their toys they become the insecure people they really are. But you? You kept fighting despite losing your skills and just relied on your experience and stats boosts. Out of the four Guardians I have killed you were the one who piqued my interest the most. You... Are a hero and I will give you a quick death because I respect you."
(Karito) "I... Learned that a hero... Isn't..." Coughs "Defined... By their powers... It's their hearts."
(Lee) "There should be more Guardians like you. I will build a proper burial for you."
With ominous intent radiating from every fiber of his being, Lee infused his clenched fist with a potent surge of Dark energy, poised to deliver the final blow.
In a breathtaking display of agility and instinct, my body instinctively sidestepped at the very last moment, evading the lethal trajectory of Lee's devastating punch. A thunderous impact resonated through the air as his fist collided with the unyielding floor, unleashing an explosive force that engulfed the surroundings in a shroud of billowing smoke.
As the haze gradually dissipated, dissipating the lingering remnants of chaos, our eyes locked once again in an unspoken communion.
(Lee) "So you can even dodge in an instant. Very impressive."
(Karito) "I still have fight in me."
(Lee) "Good. Let's continue."
In a display of unparalleled speed and skill, we launched ourselves towards each other, locked in a deadly dance of combat. The sheer intensity of our movements rendered them imperceptible to the naked eye, necessitating the use of slow-motion recording to capture the flurry of strikes and counters exchanged between us.
Yet, in this blistering exchange, I found myself seizing the upper hand. With calculated precision, I delivered a devastating punch followed by a knee strike, causing Lee to stagger under the force of my onslaught. Undeterred, he pressed on, retaliating with a flurry of his own strikes. Blow after blow, we exchanged titanic force, our desperation palpable in each ferocious strike.
In a brief respite amidst the chaotic encounter, I seized the opportunity to push aside Lee's defenses, delivering a punishing double strike to his throat and chest. The impact was profound, eliciting a visceral response as blood was expelled from his mouth and he struggled for breath. Sensing his vulnerability, I surged forward with unwavering determination, launching a relentless assault upon his battered form. Each strike found its mark, inflicting agony upon his body and causing him to convulse in pain.
With a fierce battle cry, I geared up for my final attack, ready to give it everything I had left. Sure, I may not have all my powers back, but that wasn't gonna stop me. I was determined to save the world and bring it back to the light, no matter what.
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders. But you know what? I wasn't gonna let that bring me down. I focused all my energy into that one punch, giving it everything I had left. This was it—the moment that would decide the fate of this world.
So, with a surge of determination, I launched myself forward, fist charged and ready to take on whatever came my way. This punch was gonna be the one to knock the darkness out cold and bring back the light. It was game on.
(Karito) "YOU'RE FINISHED, LEE! HAA!"
I delivered a devastating punch to Lee's face, causing a fountain of blood to spew from his mouth. Exhausted and battered, we both collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath. As the dust settled, I remained on the floor, taking a moment to recover my strength while my opponent crawled towards the door, desperate to make his escape. But I couldn't let him get away, not after enduring all the trials and tribulations that had led me to this moment.
Summoning my remaining reserves of determination, I forced myself to stand, despite the pain coursing through my body. With a determined limp, I made my way towards the door, cautiously scanning the surroundings for any signs of interference. The coast appeared clear, devoid of any immediate threats.
(Karito) "LEE! I THOUGHT YOU WEREN'T A COWARD! LET'S FINISH THIS!"
In the midst of my defiant words, Lee materialized from the very shadows cast by the surrounding trees, launching a surprise attack. His sharp nails lacerated my stomach once again, and I cried out in anguish, instinctively swiping at his hand to free myself. But the damage had been done, leaving behind a searing pain and a chunk of flesh torn from my abdomen.
Undeterred, Lee pressed on with his relentless assault, unleashing a barrage of strikes that tested my resolve. Yet, as my strength slowly returned, I seized the opportunity to seize his right arm, channeling all of my resurging power into a devastating maneuver that shattered the bones within his forearm, forcing them to protrude through the flesh. Undeterred, I continued to rain blows upon his battered visage, magnifying the damage inflicted with each precise strike.
However, Lee, in a cunning display, attempted to divert my attention by feigning an attack to my chest, but I thwarted his efforts, preventing his fingers from penetrating my chest. Yet, his true intent lay concealed, as he unexpectedly thrust his nails into my vulnerable neck. Agonizing screams echoed through the air as he relentlessly crushed and pierced my tender flesh, causing an intense surge of pain that seemed insurmountable. Despite my escalating suffering, I mustered every ounce of remaining strength to retaliate, focusing my assault on his lone remaining arm.
In a desperate bid for survival, I resorted to an audacious maneuver, tearing his hand from my ravaged neck, leaving behind a gaping wound that bled profusely.
In the midst of excruciating agony, my screams reverberated through the air. However, fueled by an indomitable rage, I summoned the strength to retaliate. With a swift and calculated strike, I delivered a powerful elbow to Lee's jaw, followed by an uppercut that propelled him backwards, creating a necessary separation between us.
Yet, a seething fury consumed my being, a burning resolve to bring an end to this torment. Driven by an overwhelming surge of anger, I seized hold of Lee's shirt, lifting him effortlessly from the ground. In a display of raw power, I impaled him upon a large, jagged branch, forcefully driven into the earth by the weight of a fallen tree. The branch pierced through his body, a grim and resolute finality to our relentless confrontation.
(Karito) "FUCKING DIE, YOU BASTARD!"
In the grip of an implacable fury, I hoisted Lee aloft, defying gravity's constraints, and with resolute force, I propelled him toward a nearby tree. The impact was brutal, and a jagged branch, jutting forth from the ancient oak, found its mark with unyielding precision. The branch impaled his back, piercing through his chest with a chilling finality.
Lee gasped, his eyes fixated on the tree branch sticking out of his chest. Dude knew he was done for. I looked at him, catching my breath and feeling the chaos in my mind. I haven't been thinking straight since I got here. Is this messed up? I mean, Rika made me question my own words. Feeling good about killing her kind and all that. Does that make me a hypocrite? But then again, this guy caused so much pain and suffering. He ruined lives, tore families apart. I guess I can kinda relate to that, but we're different. He did it for twisted reasons, while I fought to protect and save people. I finished what I had to do here, saved these folks. It's over.
I closed my eyes, as did Lee. It was supposed to be the end, you know? But for some reason, nothing seemed to change. The weight of our actions, the consequences, they were still there. It's like the world didn't quite shift. It made me pause and think, man. The impact of what we've done, it's gonna stick around. Our choices, the scars we leave behind, they'll always be there, etched into this crazy world.
So there I stood, contemplating the aftermath of it all. The battle might be won, but the aftermath... that's a whole different story. The price of salvation ain't a light one. The consequences, they're gonna linger.
But now that I mention that... Why isn't anything happening?
(Yelena) "KARITO MOVE!"
In the corner of my eye, I caught Lee gearing up for one last desperate attack, fueled by all the Dark energy he had left. The guy was about to go boom, and I was right in his line of fire. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
But then, out of nowhere, Yelena whipped out some fancy spell, throwing up a protective barrier around me. Guess she had some cool tricks up her sleeve from her Guardian buddies. It was like having my own personal force field. Saved my ass, no doubt. But wait... Why the hell didn't she put up a shield for herself? Oh no, no, no, no, this can't be good!
I was practically yelling inside my head, screaming for her to do something, anything. But it was too late. The tension in the air was thick as hell, crackling with terrifying energy. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was a ticking time bomb, and I was stuck in the blast zone while she had nothing to protect herself from.
(Karito) "YELENA!"
(Yelena) "I wish I meet my sister but... Thank yo-"

The aftermath was nothing short of catastrophic. The force unleashed in that forest was beyond comprehension, an explosion of such magnitude that reverberated throughout the entire region. News reports would later describe it as an atomic blast, but fortunately, the devastation was contained within the confines of the forest. Only the shockwave managed to escape its confines, causing minor damage to nearby structures and unsettling the ground with tremors. It was a targeted strike, meticulously calculated to minimize collateral damage.
Now, the once-thriving forest lay in ruins, reduced to a desolate wasteland. Not a trace of life remained, save for one solitary figure. Karito, groggy and disoriented, gradually regained consciousness amidst the desolation. His senses were overwhelmed by a deafening screech, and his vision was initially obscured by a blinding whiteness. With great effort, he struggled to rise, managing only a kneeling position as he repeatedly rubbed his eyes, desperate to clear his vision.
As his sight gradually returned, a chilling reality began to sink in. The scene before him was one of utter devastation, a landscape of destruction that defied comprehension. He looked around in a state of profound disbelief, his breaths coming in sharp gasps, his chest constricting with the weight of a panic attack. Denial wrestled with his thoughts as he questioned what he could have done differently to avert this catastrophic outcome. The pressure in his head mounted, manifesting as an excruciating headache born of stress and overwhelming despair.
But amidst the torment, a piercing memory surged to the forefront of his consciousness—Yelena. He vividly recalled the sight of her body consumed by flames, every inch of her being reduced to ash. The searing heat, the agonizing burn, and ultimately, the disintegration of her very bones into an ethereal residue. The recollection sent shivers down his spine, mingling with the overwhelming sense of guilt and sorrow that now gripped his soul.
(Karito) "No... no..."

(Karito) " I SAID SHUT UP!"
With a jolt, Karito found himself abruptly transported back to the familiarity of his apartment, yet the weight of grief that engulfed him remained unyielding. Collapsing onto the cold, unforgiving floor, tears streamed down his face, mingling with the remnants of sorrow that still clung to his soul. The weight of loss settled upon him like a suffocating shroud, casting a pall of anguish over the very air he breathed.
In the solitude of his apartment, his sobs reverberated through the empty space, a mournful symphony of heartbreak and anguish. Each tear that cascaded down his cheeks bore witness to the profound sacrifice his dear friend, Yelena, had made. The echoes of her selfless act reverberated in his shattered heart.
To be continued...
