Evie didn't even know what kind of elements were on the handkerchief owned by the man, but the man just had to press it against her nose to temporarily subdue her vampire powers. The elements were unknown, but Evie should have expected that they weren't usual.
She did know that it was unusual, but she still took the kidnapper lightly, and that was why she did not anticipate that someone would raid her mansion to take the kidnapper away.
The kidnapper was kidnapped. That was ridiculous.
"My hunch is accurate, isn't it, My Lady? Sure enough, there was someone behind the kidnapper, that's why that person immediately tried to free the kidnapper from your grip so we couldn't gather any further information about the kidnapper," Simon replied to Evie after the blonde woman explained to him what happened at the mansion.
The person who had just called Evie's phone was the butler at the mansion. With a frightened tone, the butler reported that a group of people dressed in black had suddenly attacked the mansion. The men had guns, and there was even a shootout in the mansion, but Evie's side ended up losing for some reason.
The butler said that the group of people in black consisted of about a dozen people, and they were all so well trained that not even the guards in the mansion could counter their attacks.
Thankfully, there were no casualties from the attack, and the only loss Evie had to suffer was how she lost the kidnapper from her clutches.
"Fortunately, the mansion is in a quiet area, and there are no other houses in the area, so the public won't know about the attack. If the public finds out about the attack, you will have bigger problems that you need to deal with, My Lady," continued Simon speaking as his master remained silent in the backseat.
Simon wasn't the only one who grew worried after learning that the kidnapper had been taken away from Evie's mansion. Evie was also more worried now, but rather than rambling on like Simon was doing, she chose to remain silent as she thought about what she should do next.
"Those guys were carrying weapons, and the butler didn't mention anything out of the ordinary, so I guess they're just mortals," Evie finally voiced her hypothesis after a moment of silence.
Sitting behind the wheel, Simon frowned as he tried to think about what his master had just said. "That's possible, but we can't just ignore this matter, My Lady. We need to let Mrs. Edevane know about this matter and ask for her help tomorrow. It could be your rival or something that is behind the kidnapper. Or perhaps it's someone powerful in this country who is obsessed with you, and that is why he could even do something like this to you."
What Simon said made sense, and Evie silently nodded her head in response to the old man's opinion. After all, she had to admit that she did have some big rivals in the industry. She was a top star in the country, but she was not the only star out there. Apart from her, other bright stars were constantly fighting against each other for the title of the most shining star, and the competition was not always healthy.
In the past, Evie had even had to deal with some rumors being spread by her rivals, so it was not surprising that it was her competitors who were behind the kidnapper.
'It's also possible that the person behind the kidnapper is one of the men obsessed with me,' Evie thought to herself as she recalled what happened in the past.

She sounded miserable, but somehow Simon chuckled after hearing what she just said. "That is indeed a pain, but I know you enjoy your popularity, My Lady. I also know that you love your career, and as long as you are happy, everything is worth it even if we have to face some problems."
Evie just smiled after hearing Simon's words. In this world, only Simon knew her well. She had lived in this world for many years, and there were times when she felt bored, but her career as one of the country's top celebrities had saved her from boredom.

Hearing the old man's curious question, Evie gave a small smile before replying, "We can't wait until tomorrow morning to return to the city, Simon. So, do you think you are strong enough to drive to the city tonight?"
