Nick led Rachel up the grand staircase of the Manor, guiding her to one of its ornate rooms. As they stood before the door, Rachel hesitated, uncertainty in her eyes. Nick, ever perceptive, offered her an understanding smile.
"My Grandma is inside," he explained, trying to put her at ease.
Rachel sighed and was on the verge of entering when Nick playfully added, "Besides, if I had other intentions, I wouldn't choose this place for it." His teasing remark left Rachel in complete shock as he sauntered into the room, leaving her standing there.
"Hello, Nana," Nick greeted his beloved grandmother with warmth as he entered her room.
Grandma Gabby turned her gaze toward her grandson and her face lit up with a radiant smile. Her nurse was diligently administering her medications.
