Chapter 45 - Chapter Forty-Five Assigning What Pack Members stay, and which leave with Ashina

Ashina -

At one end of the conference table, Andor sits at the head of the table, while I sit at the other end. Rather than Cadma being next to me, Rector is to my right and my brother to my left.

The sight of Andor's pitiful face, sad and dejected, fills my heart with sadness. It is apparent to me that he feels rejected by me. In the same way, he is unclear about how I feel, and I am also unclear about my feelings. Clearly, he needs to step it up a notch or two, since I have no way of knowing whether or not our mate bond will remain strong. A number of different Omega's had sex with him throughout the day.

I have requested the Kings' technicians and engineers to create a holographic image of the area surrounding Malcolm's castle. The hologram contains detailed tunnels with their entrances and exits. My unit locations, nearby forests, and mountain ranges are listed below, along with the locations of my packs.

Addressing the table once more, I am going to attack the elephant in the room, with so many wolves finding their mate, their logistics are important for this war.

Reading down my list:

"Rector, your mate is an alpha and a member of the royal family. According to werewolf statutes, you must remain with your mate at all times."

As feelings of abandonment began to creep into my mind, my heart began to break. It is difficult for me to maintain a straight face. It is my sincere wish that Rector is happy. Rector began to argue with me, however I gave him the look that indicated he should not argue with me.

"Alpha Andor, Beta Greyson is Bambi's mate. She is the next Alpha in her pack. By werewolf law, Beta Greyson will follow Bambi to her pack. If I am correct, Bambi offered to help fight Malcolm." I looked over at Bambi and she nodded vigorously in agreement. I kept wondering how she was able to have Alpha blood. Meanwhile, Greyson's face is filled with love for Bambi.

"Alpha Andor, if Bambi follows me to war, will your beta be able to follow as well?"

As Andor looks over at his beta, I can tell he is going to miss having him in his life. As I am sure he is equally as apprehensive about his right hand leaving his pack as I am. In my knowledge, he has been friends with his beta since they were children.

A reluctant Andor replies, "Whatever my beta and his mate decide is fine by me. I will miss my beta, however, I would like to see him happy. He has my blessing to go with his mate.".

As Beta Greyson stands up, he bows his head in submission, baring his neck in respect to his longtime alpha and friend. "It was my pleasure to serve you, Alpha." Beta Greyson replied. Nodding, Andor informs the beta he can now return to his sitting position.

"It is my understanding that Alpha Andor and Alpha Melanie govern different aspects of the kingdom together. I apologize if I am mistaken.

Melanie begins to shake her head in disagreement, but Andor quickly verbally rebuts Melanie's claim. "Melanie has been and Alpha, Luna, and has played a vital role in running this kingdom. She does not give herself enough credit, and I have often commented that she should have been the Alpha of this kingdom. So yes, Princess, you are right."

My head nods, and I feel a little uncomfortable being addressed as Princess. My title, however, remains in limbo. Without correcting my mate, I simply let that title pass.

"Alpha Melanie and Alpha Andor, may I inquire if you are providing any assistance to help us defeat Malcolm our common enemy?"

Andor nods his head in recognition. "Melanie and I have discussed this extensively. Due to your young age, I was concerned that sending my men to someone so inexperienced would get them killed more easily. Melanie has since changed my mind. When it comes down to it, you have trained hard and you have a commitment to the people who serve you, or will serve you. I will loan 200 wolves for the war. I have over 200 packs in the Eastern Kingdom, and as we speak, each pack sends ten warriors per pack. We will provide them ammunition and supplies. They will have vehicles and whatever my warriors need."

Andor takes a deep breath, "My sister and I have argued about this for awhile, however, I will come as well, to lead my men into battle. Melanie will be the Queen, the Alpha with her mate of the Eastern Kingdom."

Despite keeping a stoic face, my emotions are mixed inside. With him by my side the bond will become too strong. Then there is Cadma. Those two will have their own war. I can barely reply to Andor. It came out like a whisper. "Thank you Alpha."

It was in this address to Cadma and Rector that I requested them to provide me with a comprehensive list of where our troops are located and how we should reposition them so that Malcolm is unable to locate them.

Once the group of invited guests has sorted out the details of logistics, the planning can begin. Taking a look at Margaret, I explain to her what Witches I have and what their talents are. As far as I know, she is also in this war with us, so I wanted to confirm that she is also in this war with us. The witches of this war will be managed by Margaret, as she has agreed to take over those responsibilities.

It would be great if you could come back and take Alpha Bambi and Beta Greyson to survey our troops once you have taken my brother home tomorrow, so that we can be sure we are on top of things. In the meantime, let the commanders who are waiting know about our speculative plans, and let them know that I will be back shortly."

As I was speaking, I heard my brother moaning sadly in the background. It is obvious to me that he wants to be near me, that he wants to protect me. Having said that, he is so young, he has yet to become a child, so when he gets older he can help in any war that happens. But for now he will go home and grow up to be one day a fantastic warrior who will defend his side against the enemy.

I conclude the meeting by asking for responses and if any other participants would like to speak. None of the participants offered any thoughts. As a result, the meeting was closed

With a stern voice, I whisper in Andor's ear, "Please put all my clothes back in my room."
