Andor -
"Great! Where the He** are we?!!" Everywhere I look there is sand. The heat is intense and there aren't any trees anywhere to be seen.
Cadma retorts, "Looks like the dessert you green mutt!"
"Shut up you green lizard!" Thinking about what I just said, it didn't sound like a cut down.
Cadma snickers, "Isn't it normal for a lizard to be green? Mutt breath! Besides, I am a Dragon, not a lizard!"
I would punch Cadma into the next century if it weren't so hot in this sand pit.
"Listen to lizard lips! What is your suggestion for getting out of this mess?"
As I watched the lizard's expression, there were only smirks.
"Listen, Wolf boy, who could be the lead star of needing to use toothpaste a little more often. I can fly, I don't know about you."
"Listen here. I brush my teeth several times a day, and my wolf is perfect. He never needs to brush his teeth"
Chuckling to annoy me, Cadma continues to push my buttons, "I thought dogs chew on bones to clean their teeth."
Angrily, I snorted, "I AM NOT A DOG! I am a Wolf!"
"I don't see the difference; you smell like a wet dog. By the way, is it raining?"
"No, you idiot! We are dripping in sweat; it doesn't rain in the freaking desert!"
"I am soaking wet; how should I know a bone-chewer! I am a winter dragon, not a desert nomad."
Shaking my head out and getting rid of the sweat dripping from my hair, I looked over at the lizard boy and decided we needed to quit bickering for now and get ourselves out of this mess.
"Listen Cadma, can we both just see about getting out of here. I don't think us bickering back and forth helps us."
Sighing, I looked over at him with a straight face.
"I will get us out of here, Wolf boy, if you apologize."
Growling, I knew he was an ass, but I needed his help. "I apologize... for whatever you wanted me to apologize for." Trying hard to spit those words out to that arrogant lizard-lipped flying turd.
With that smirk I hated Cadma. Laughingly replied, "Was that so hard?"
My wolf growls inside of me, wanting to shred Cadma apart. I explained to my wolf he is our only way out of this hot desert, unless he would like to get me out of this heat in wolf form. Wouldn't you know my wolf went and hid, ignoring me from that moment. "Traitor!" I yelled inside myself at my wolf.
Cadma, with that smirk I swear is glued onto his snarky face, instructs me about how we are going to fly out of here.
"I will change into my dragon, who is going to hate this heat, by the way. We probably will not be able to head straight there as me, and my dragon are winter dragons. We will need water and ice more often until we get back into below 60-degree weather."
Tapping my feet, I am annoyed. He stopped speaking, "AND?"
"When in dragon form, you will need to climb to the middle of my back and hold on for dear life. I do not have a harness, as I am not a horse or a camel. If you have ever ridden a motorcycle, you will know if you don't wear goggles or a helmet, well dust, bugs, whatever is floating in the air will get in your eyes, so keep your face down and eyes closed."
I felt as if I was being instructed by an airline stewardess with a cocky attitude. However, I nodded and waited for his dragon to appear, then I thought I should know his dragon's name, so I quickly asked, "What is your dragon's name?"
By the time I asked, Cadma had already changed into his dragon. However, the dragon could talk to me as a human would. Granted, the dragon's voice was slightly more guttural than a human with a tinge of roaring. The dragon then politely replied.
"I am Irlas. Now, puny human, please get onto my back so we can get out of this awful heat."
"Irlas? How do I get on with you? You are quite large."
"It is said that humans have no brains. Is that true?" In response, the dragon snorts as he continues, "Do you think you could climb up on my tail if you tried? Certainly, you could, so I will have you climb up onto my back through the center, where you will rest. Holding on tight to my scales. Now hurry up and get going! I do not want to stay in this hot place for longer."
Irlas' s scales were huge. I nestled in the crevice of two of Irlas' s scales. This helped with securing myself on his back. This also helps in protecting us from the wind, sun, and other floating elements in the sky.
It seemed like we had been flying for a couple of hours when we finally landed in the middle of this vast desert near some oasis. There was still a lot to take in even when you were flying over it.
I crawled off of the dragon and gave the dragon compliments. If he is like my wolf, flattery gets you everywhere.
"Thank you for taking me to this oasis, Irlas. You are indeed a noble dragon. I might say you are also a very handsome looking dragon. I was hoping if you would mind, I would shift into my wolf and let him drink with you in the oasis? He will be respectful of you as you are a very noble being." I bowed my head to him in respect.
I hear my wolf huff, "Laying a little thick on him, aren't you?"
Laughing inside my head, I asked, "Are you jealous?"
My wolf retorts, "Why would I be jealous?"
Explaining to my wolf, this is why I do not wish to drink out of that water and get sand, whereas you are more gifted at sorting the sand while you drink, thus we are both getting water. This giant of a creature is our ride, so I am laying it thick with praise so that we may have our way."
My wolf teases me by replying "Okay puny human."
I snarled at him and, once getting the nod for Irlas, it was okay for me to shift into my wolf. I did so.
After shifting into my wolf, he too plays with the dragon's vanity, bows before him, and waits until the dragon nods his head. Then my wolf turns around and runs to get a drink from the water in the oasis. The dragon's feet padded to the oasis and the earth shook as he trekked over.
Once both the dragon and my wolf had their fill of drinking water, they both splashed in the water trying to cool off, but the poor dragon was just too big. Once they were finished, my wolf shifted back, and I had a dilemma. I was now in shredded clothes. I had to deal with it. I heard Irlas laugh.
"Stupid human"
