In the kingdom of Isiah, there were three organisation which had power and money comparable to royal family. Mages Association, Adventurers Guild and Dao Trading Company. The adventurers guild's power could be seen as to how grand the its building was leaving Sam awestruck.
It was a three storey building designed to look like a noble's castle. Eighteen soldiers were deployed for security. It had everything an adventurer will need, an apothecary, a blacksmith' workshop, a cafe, resting lounge, training grounds and other essential services.
Sam couldn't help but speak, "such a grandiose building, to think adventurers get to enjoy such luxury".
"Let's go inside", pushing Sam Seagull urged.
Shining black hair and dark eyes with cat like ears and a fluttering tail, the lady at the desk was a beautiful cat woman. "Welcome adventurers. My name is Tia. How can I help you?"
Putting the collected goblin amulets and the tooth of goblin with a donn on the desk, "We are here to report the goblin quest done. Please pay the reward", said Seagull.
Taking the bag the cat woman went to a collection room and returned five minutes later. "I have submitted the form for quest reward payout. Please wait for 10 minutes. In the meantime I can help you with other tasks".
"We would like to register this young man as an adventurer, Miss Tia" pushing Sam forwards Cain asked.
"Very well. A new registration requires a fees of 200 Dia only". Saying this she took out a machine with an orb on top. "Please place your hands on the orb and fill in the fields displayed".
*Gulp. Nervous, Sam swallowed his salive and slowly pushed his right hand towards the orb. Placing his hands on the orb he waited but nothing happened.
"Hmm, Mr you have to pour your mana in it to work", instructed Tia.
The concept of mana was unfamiliar to Sam. From the place he came, mana didn't exist and after transmigration Sei told him that he cannot use mana as he didn't have a mana spirit. A mana spirit is what allowed the person to utilise the mana present everywhere
The stronger the mana spirit was, the greater mana affinity of the individual will be.
Trying again with all his focus Sam was praying to God for it to work but alas nothing happened. "Maybe it is broken", pointing towards the machine Cain said.
Not possible sir, the machine had never malfunction before", calmly replied Tia. Taking out a form and handing it to Sam, "Please fill this instead and I will make you a card myself".
[That was close, phew]
'True, I was this close to being busted', filling out the form and handing it to Tia they all waited at the cafe.
Cain had already doubted but found his suspicions true that Sam had no control over mana. Learning this broke Cain's heart and he decided something.
Getting the money and Sam's adventurer card
"Why does this show me as an F class adventurer", seeing the F Sam's heart nearly stopped working.
"Ranks are given to those who can be assessed by the machine. Undetermine ones are given F rank.
The rank structure goes this way:
F: beginner rank < E:Novice rank < D: Silver rank < C: Gold rank < B: Master rank < A: Saint rank < S: Master Saint rank << SS: Dragon tribulation rank <<< SSS: Sky conquering rank
Seeing this structure Sam was counting how much power he has to gain for SSS rank.
Ranks can be upgraded by taking 'Rank upgrade year's conducted by guild. Success was long way ahead, thinking this Sam accepted his fate and decided to do adventures diligently.
"Let's go we have more work to", with this Sam said goodbye to Tia, the beautiful cat lady.
