My heart pounded in my chest as I waited for an answer. A laugh, an angry exclamation, anything. As Hades stood there for what felt like hours without moving nor did he try to answer my question.
"Where did you hear that from? What happened while you were overshadowed by the wind?" Hades suddenly questioned me. And I bit my cheeks to stop the smile that threatened to show on my face.
"Does it matter?" I questioned back in response while taking a sip of the nice tea.
Hades growled before slamming the table as he stared at me keenly. "I asked you a question, Mortal."
Mortal? I scoffed. At least, he no longer called me a child.
I stood up from the chair I previously sat on while eating and turned to Hades. I went for his left hand he used in slamming the table and took his hand in mine, as I stared keenly at him. His flaming eyes never leave mine. "There there, " I mumbled before slowly bringing his hand to my lips and kissing his knuckles.
