Sometimes I would lie on my bed, after the disaster, and I would close my eyes, and pretend like nothing had happened. This little illusion of mine had become like a source of a drug, I needed to do it, I needed to soothe my soul because I knew if I didn't I would simply crumble.
So here I was, lying in the huge bed of the guestroom in the Fae palace, my eyes closed while I envisioned that I was at home. I could hear my sibling's laughter while he ran around the house, I could smell the breakfast my mum made in our little kitchen and I knew that any second now my dad would slowly open my bedroom door to wake me up for school.
