(( After his grand defeat, his whereabouts are no longer known... what is Stacy going to do after finding the threat letter directed to our hero. A crisis is coming. ))
For the time being, Gwen pushed the last button up in the elevator of the hotel, to reach her boyfriend in the penthouse.
She entered the wide suite, met by the maids with solemn face, she didn't need any help through the place. She memorized the way to his room from the couple of times she had been there before.
She entered a big office room with a glamourous glass façade to the city. Showing the many dazzling lights of the city that never sleeps.
On his father's seat, Harry glimpsed her entrance in her casual clothes, he sighed while continuing to revise some papers in on that magnificent desk designed with antique decorations that full the room's flor up to the ceiling. Behind him a large portrait of his late father in a respectful extravagant suit, sitting in the same chair, Harry was sitting on now.
Taking her breathes hardly as she sat on the comfy couch in his small reception before his desk, she said in hefty tone "Harry, it's Pete...
"Soon she uttered his name, Harry stood up forcing a smile that showed a vein in his forehead, his sudden movement startled the girl but Gwen feigned ignorance of his act and continued "... Dad says, he was attacked at his house. We don't know his whereabouts"
Harry listening to her words nonchalantly moved to the side bar on the other side of the room "Do you wanna a drink?"
Concernedly, Gwen continued ignoring him "I'm worried about him... Can't you send some men to help in the search?"
Harry shrugged in a cold tone without looking at the tiresome girl, gulping down his glass of bourbon "Why should I?"
"Huh!" she turned her body to face him from her seat, shocked by his words.
The young entrepreneur poured himself another glass "Why should I care about that traitor?"
Gwen stood up retorting in the heat of the moment "What are you talking about? He is your friend, your best friend"
"No. He is not my friend," He slammed the glass on the bar's counter smashing it to pieces, Gwen gasped with both hands on her mouth, she tried to reach for him, worried about his bleeding hand, but strangely she saw no blood... she looked to him fearfully suspecting him of relapsing.
Harry shouted "My friends don't take pics of the menace that killed my father" at that moment Gwen raised her voice too "Stop talking like that about Spiderman, he saved my life more than once... Besides, stop relating everything about Spiderman to Peter, He is just his photographer, he works very hard to back up his aunt, He really is trying his best"
"I offered him a job instead of that work"
"And how could you," her eyes swayed in shame, "Of course, he would turn you down. You did it on purpose; to hurt his pride & look down on him"
"Stop... Stop acting like that, stop taking his side, it irritates me" Harry marched to her in an instant, he held her arm & squeezed strongly while shooting his furious eyes at her.
"You are hurting me Harry" screamed Gwen in pain, Harry let go of her arms suddenly which made her fell on the ground. He shuddered "Gwen..." he reached for her but her sharp glare stopped him in his tracks.
Her weak posture holding her arms in pain, looking at him brokenly, blaming him for his actions pushed his mind to cower deep in the darkness more.
He shouted "Don't look at me like that... You just thought Peter would never hurt you, Right?!"
Gwen stood up quietly getting dust off her knees then she stormed at him in return "What's wrong with you, why do you always keep bringing him up in this way? He has nothing to do with us. Do you hate him for that degree? Just what did he do to you?"
"He tried to take you from me..." At his remark, a shiver ran through her body of the truth she kept hidden from him came to face her now, "I know, Gwen. I always knew."
"How?" she stuttered looking at him leaning back to the side bar pouring himself another drink.
"I heard your conversations before. He would break up with Liz & you would break up with me then you two would be together. But when my father died if just you didn't pity me... You would have betrayed me too"
The girl looked down in shame for a second
"See. I was right. I would never lose to such a loser like him" he gulped his glass in anger.
After a minute of silence, Gwen gradually answered "Yes, but I stayed with you. Yes, we really agreed on something like that, I loved Peter, I kept loving him more than 6 years but I chose you over him, I lost hope on him, I turned to a disgusting woman who threw away her childhood friend & acted like nothing. Do you know how painful it was on me? ... But, you never thought of me. You always stood me out whenever we went out on dates, you would send me dresses and gifts, to doll me up as a commodity you bought or a prize you won to show off in your parties. This kind of relation I really despise. I can't be with you, Harry"
"Are you breaking up with me?" He glared at her scarily. He reached for her but she instinctively defended himself, but his strength was greater, it was an accident, but he pushed her down grazing her elbow "Gwen, I didn't mean to... If you just stopped talking about him like that."
She barely got her act together before crying her tears.
"Don't ever talk to me, don't talk about Pete like that, I wish you could be half the man he is...We're done for good"
She ran to the elevator, took a taxi home, entered her room and burst crying her heart out.
Back at the Penthouse
(Ring Ring) angrily, Harry picked up his ringing phone "What!" He shouted.
Some eerie voice on the other side replied "What you asked for, I developed it..."
"I'm coming" Harry walked out with a mad lunatic smile risen on his face.
ON THE OTHER SIDE Of THE CITY,
"Peter, get up... get up" Peter opened his eyes vividly, only to be greeted with the darkness shrouding him everywhere. "Where Am I?" He asked as he heard nothing but the dripping sound of water, along with an awful smell.
"Under the city... The other side of it" the scarred voice of the symbiont answered.
"The Sewerage! Again?" Peter stood up, he clearly saw in the darkness and began moving in that maze.
"We're safe, we've been dragged all the way here..." the symbiont said assuredly, but Peter strict voice asked "How did I escape?"
"What is the last thing you remember?"
"Got hit by a truck?!"
"You got knocked out & we... dragged you" a fain hesitancy in the voice, urged peter to halt and ask seriously "You controlled me?"
"No, Just your hand for couple of seconds"
"My what!!" Peter walked again excusing the possibilities that this action may causes in the problems, he just said after thinking about the other problems he have "Anyway, you've been useful. But don't get ahead of yourself in dragging me all the way, my body is so sour"
His phone rang, Peter picked up his semi-functioning cell to see 23 missed calls & more than 60 messages on the broken screen. They were all from MJ, Liz, even Gwen... and others. But soon his phone died.
The injured young man searched around and after a short march he reached a gas station on the highway. His clothes were torn and he got no money... he entered quietly, the old man at the cashier alarmed by his appearance and asked "Kid, are you okay?"
"The rest room" with a steady voice, peter sat his destination, and with a simple gaze, he silently put the man's worries at hold.
Peter stopped before the mirror in the cramped place, he caressed his blacked eyes and grazed face. He opened the tap and submerged his head down in the sink.
He walked out to the store and grabbed a shirt from the shelves, ready to just take it and leave but then he noticed the strange gathering ahead.
Customers crowded at one corner, eyes glued to the TV hung up on the wall.
He approached them to see the shocking news broadcasted live:
{The evil sinister of supervillains had shoot down two planes until now and still holed in there. They are demanding Spiderman to show up, claiming that if he doesn't show up... They will harm the patients in ward 21 in the Central Hospital at the Main Square}
Hectically, barging through the door. Peter was almost run over by a speedy car, but his body was already in motion that he took it as a step and jumped high up and shot his webs to the running truck at the end of the road, squatting on it till buildings appeared. He reached the city in his black custom. He sprung to one high rise building, running vertically till he was on the roof and could clearly see the downtown from very far "I will save her, I can save her. She'll be okay... SHE HAS TO"
