The following years were just like a dream. Enji was a doting father and very good husband, Akina was so loving to all children, and you are the same. Like a very happy family. Both you and Akina were playing with the children in the garden when Enji arrived home from the palace with the third female. You both went to the entrance to greet your husband when you guys saw the third female. Akina was the one that said something first. "Husband…aren't you going to introduce her to us?" she stated. "Uh…yes this is Hanaku she is my third wife" he introduced her to us. "Nice to meet you Hanaku, I'm y/n his first wife and this is Akina his second wife…now if you excuse me I must tend to my sons…Akina care to join us with your daughter?" you asked Akina. Akina smiled at you and quickly followed. She knew that you were seething but so good at hiding it. When you guys went back to the gardens. "The nerve of that man!" you yelled in frustration. "Another woman…is he not satisfied with us?" you asked Akina. Speechless, she just couldn't say anything.
The very next morning everyone was seated at the dining room table for breakfast while Hanaku was seated adjacent to you. "Enji…did you sleep well?" you asked your husband. "Yes, yes I did my Plum Blossom" Enji answered. "Why do you call her Plum Blossom?" Hanaku asked. "Because when I met her she looked more lovely than the blossoms she was under," he answered. You looked at Hanaku and smiled. "So, how did you guys meet? if you don't mind me asking" you asked. Enji knew you were seething inside but didn't say a word because he knew that you would rip his head off his thick neck. "well…I was at a Ryokan…" Enji was interrupted by you. "She's a commoner from there?!" you yelled. Enji quickly stood up "Enough y/n! She is not a whore…she was a bath attended," he answered angrily. You stood up more fiercely than ever "I want a divorce decree NOW!" you demanded. Taken aback, Enji plopped on the dining room chair in shock at this announcement. "You can't be serious Plum Blossom?" he questioned in shock. "I expect this decree to be in my quarters by this evening!" you stomped out of the dining room with your two sons. You proceeded to take your sons to your quarters and spend the remaining day there. You ordered the servants to bring the remaining days' meals to your quarters.
That evening Enji came to your quarters. "I wish to speak to you y/n," Enji requested. "Did you bring the divorce decree with you?" you questioned Enji. "No, I didn't, that is why I wish to speak to you about" Enji answered. Sitting in your sitting room you gave him a gesture to proceed. He sat down "y/n…I refuse to divorce you," he said bluntly. In shock, you stood up and he sat you back down. "You will listen now, sit down and listen to your husband," he ordered. "I love you y/n I truly do, but for some reason, you're not getting used to the situations I am in…that being said I will not divorce you it will look very bad…you will stay here as my first wife…I will not touch you unless you invite me to…Akina and Hanaku wished to speak to you," he explained to you. "Why? Have I not respected your wishes all these years…have I not been a good mother to your sons? and the first wife to you?…please honor my request for a decree of divorce" you said to him. "I'm sorry my Plum Blossom I cannot honor your request" he sighed. Mouth opened, and speechless your anger welled up inside you slowly stood up from the chair before him and proceeded to turn heel. He tried to follow but you gestured to him not to follow after you. For the past couple of weeks, you felt like a prisoner to the Todoroki mansion. You felt like you were insignificant to the Todoroki household. So much so that you didn't eat, sleep, letting yourself go slowly. Touya was now 10 years of age and Natsuo was now 5. Touya was the first to approach his father.
"Father…my mother is not doing so well…she no longer wants to eat nor sleep," Touya worriedly said. Enji looked saddened at the news of your depression. Tried to visit your quarters almost every day but you refused his company. He became so frustrated with you that he burst into your sleeping quarters and grabbed you and threw you over his shoulders, kicking and screaming. "Let me go Enji!" you screamed at him. "No my Plum Blossom…you will obey me once and for all," he said, taking you to his quarters. He threw you on his bed and ordered his servants to make a very good meal for you while he bathed you and clothed you. Upon finishing grooming you he then forced fed you. "You are making our sons worry about you y/n…I will not tolerate this behavior from you,' he stated and fed you. Once you were fed he tried caressing you so lovingly. "Don't you understand that the reason I refuse to divorce you is that you are mine and that after all these years I still am in love with you," he explained while pressing a kiss on your lips. You turned your head to block his kiss but he cupped your face and kissed you again. "No, I don't want you to touch me," you said. He was still caressing you. "I mean it Enji…don't touch me" you warned him. He embraced you and snaked his hands in your yukata to your breasts. You pushed him away and tried to leave but he grabbed you from the waist, pulled you from behind, and kissed the side of your neck. You let out a moan while he was pulling the knot that tied your yukata together. "Plum Blossom, Plum Blossom," he moaned in your ear. "I need you," he added while caressing you gently.
That night he made love to you gently and sweetly. Reluctant to still stay with him, you devoted yourself to your two sons. One morning Enji only saw your two sons but didn't see you at the breakfast table. Touya told Enji that you weren't feeling good and that you spent the entire night in bed gagging. Right away he knew that you were with a child. He smirked knowing that now that you are pregnant there was no chance that you will ask for a divorce. "Is the first wife okay," Hanaku asked Enji. Akina listened in worried and concerned about y/n. Enji called to one of his servants and send for the doctor. He arrived quickly to check on y/n when he was finished he went to Enji. "Todoroki-san she is with child…please make sure she gets proper nourishment and plenty of rest" the doctor recommended. Enji nodded and went to you. "My Plum Blossom you are with child…please rest my love…I'll have the servants tend to our sons," he said to you. Silence. "Are you going to ignore me now?" Enji asked. You got up and walked out of your bedroom. He silently left heartbroken to see that you are so withdrawn from him. You came back as soon as he left your quarters. You started to dislike him so very much first he forced you to marry him, then Akina appeared and you were barely getting used to her now another female. Enough is enough you wish to no longer be married to him but you are pregnant with HIS child. Something in you snapped. You're not this submissive, docile female. You were a fierce and ill-tempered woman and it was high time to show it. You bathed yourself and dressed in your nicest kimono and proceeded to enter the dining room for dinner with Touya and Natsou dressed to the nines. You proceed to sit at the right hand of the table only looking at your sons. "I see that you are looking well, my Plum Blossom," Enji stated. Silence. Fist slammed on the table. "You will not ignore me in my own house," Enji roared. "How dare you roar at me like an angry oni…I am your first wife…the mother of your heir and second son…do not raise your voice at me," you demanded. Looking down in anger he then faced you "I am the head of household how dare you demand of me" he yelled out. "Grant me my divorce," you stated. "I WILL NOT!," he once again slammed his fist down. "Then I shall be me…no less or no more…if you don't wish to see me then send my sons and me away!" you demanded. "Plum Blossoms you're pushing me to the brink of no return!" he warned. "GOOD! You oversize brute…I will get this divorce even if I have to travel to the palace to talk to the emperor and empress!" you warned. Enji stood up abruptly and grabbed your arm and came close to your face in anger "You were warned," he seethed. You faced him with an angry grin "Good," you seethed as well. Letting you go "Akina, Hanaku…come we will leave this place," he ordered his second and third wife. "Good, leave this place when you come back I will not be here!" you roared.
He left with his wives while you and your sons were alone in the mansion. You quickly packed whatever you could carry and sent for a carriage only to be blocked by the mansion's guards. "Sorry Lady y/n you can not leave this place," guard one said to you. "How dare you block me and my sons, move so I could pass," you demanded. "I'm sorry Lady y/n I can not," guard one said. You turned heel and tried to find another way out. Touya found an opening and alerted you to it. You then left pregnant with your two sons only carrying jewels and some money your husband gifted you so many years ago. You had enough to buy your very own house as far away from him. When Enji, Akina, and Hanaku arrived at the mansion they noticed it was dark, cold, and lonely. He clenched his fists knowing that you kept your promise. "Guards, where is she?!" he demanded. "I'm so sorry my lord but she ran away taking her sons with her," the guard stated. Akina and Hanaku were frightened at the way Enji looked and acted. "She went too far…she pushed him too far," Akina said to Hanaku and she nodded. "Where could my Plum Blossom be? She couldn't go that far with two children and pregnant" he said to himself. He ordered the servants to mount a horse. "Akina go to her quarters and see what she took…Hanaku, ask the servants if she gave them any kind of hints to where her whereabouts are," he ordered his wives and they went to their tasks. He then got on the horse and started to look around the area.
Little did he know that you left for the capital of Japan. You couldn't go to your father's house because he would send you away back to your husband. You moved to the capital where he wouldn't suspect you and the kids living there. You bought a small but quaint place for you and your sons and the soon-to-be-born child. You had a very peaceful life. You even planted a Plum Blossom tree and like that tree you strived. Touya is now 15 years old, he was studying politics and Natsou is now 10 and like all ten year olds had friends and went to school and you have given birth to a healthy boy who is now 5 years of age. You used to tell him stories of when you grew up and being a daughter of the Shogun, you even met the king before he ascended the throne and Shouto was in awe and amaze through your story telling. He was a very intelligent boy for his age, very quiet but thoughtful. "Mom, I would like soup for dinner," Shouto asked and you gladly obliged. Even though you were a high born and the daughter of the Shogun you knew the duties of a mother and the servants taught you how to cook. All in all you were a very happy woman and your smile actually reached your eyes.
