Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Horde Breaker

Zolan's war cry alerted a shit load of kobolds. Their cries would echo through the cave's pathways as they marched toward us with weapons. Although Zolan can't see all of them because of his limited vision, I can see them as clearly as day.

"Zolan, our way back?"

"It's blocked."

He threw the torch from the way we came in and as the torch flew in the air its light shined upon a group of kobolds. In conclusion, we're surrounded, but on the bright side, I'm not alone. To my side, I saw Zolan's serious face as he looked upon the horde, but it soon changed to that of a coward's face.

"Hiek! I can't afford to die!"

He pulled out a blue glowing rock from his inventory and crushed it as blue light envelop his body and it disappeared, leaving no trace whatsoever. My eyes were wide in shock, and I just couldn't believe it!

"H-hey… why don't we think about this, huh?"

"Kreek."

"Look, I'm sorry for killing one of your guys. How about it, friends?"

I smiled nervously, and the kobolds were all confused about what I just said, but they growled at me in response and began their charge. I activated my [Death's Mark] ability, focusing its power on the nearest kobold. In an instant, a shimmering path of light unfolded before me, connecting me to the kobold. This spectral guide revealed the most effective way to eliminate my enemy, emphasizing accuracy over avoidance. Following this path meant I had a guaranteed kill, but it didn't provide any guarantees for my own safety.

"Haha, this is bad."

Just as the kobolds were about to thrust their spears toward me, instinct kicked in. With a swift and calculated move, I unleashed [Shadow Step], granting me a burst of speed that allowed me to evade their deadly weapons. Leaping over the marked kobold, I seized the opportunity to exploit the illuminated spots on its body. My short swords glided effortlessly along the shining light pathway, finding their mark with precision, ensuring a swift defeat.

But in return, I got stabbed by one of the closest kobolds on the side of my torso, piercing my lungs, yet I felt no pain, nor was there blood spilled. The only indication that got damaged was…

[You receive 14 damage!]

I don't know if I should call this a blessing or a curse. On one hand, I don't feel pain or fatigue, meaning I could just go berserk and ignore all of their attacks, but to not feel anything in this game is almost the same thing as not feeling anything in real life, I should be careful lest I want my sanity to slip.

I directed the [Death Mark] onto the one who stabbed me and got rid of him swiftly, I switched [Death Mark] and relentesly defeated the kobolds despite receiving a lot of damage in return.

[You obtained 6 stat points!]

I placed all of my stat points in agility.

[You have 21 in agility!]

The other kobolds took a few steps back, but with their sheer number I could level up a few more times, and there was also one problem: if a kobold captain shows up now, then I'll die.

"Get out of my way!"

Inside the cave, I found myself surrounded by a horde of relentless kobolds. Their hunger for blood was reflected in their yellow eyes, weapons poised for an attack. With a surge of adrenaline, I tapped into my superior speed and control, determined to fight my way to freedom.

Swift as a shadow, I dodged their strikes and countered with calculated precision. My movements became a dance of survival, evading their onslaught while delivering swift and lethal blows. The power of my Death Mark guided my strikes, revealing the vulnerable spots on the kobolds' bodies, ensuring their swift demise.

Amid the chaos, my focus remained fixed on escape. I cut through their ranks, leaving a trail of fallen kobolds in my wake. But their relentless onslaught matched their numbers.

Although despite their numbers and the wounds, I received. My level would rise and heal me.

I focused all my points on agility, boosting it to 31. The fight became one-sided as I swiftly dispatched the horde, leaving only the last kobold standing. But then, a distant horn blared, shattering my hopes of a straightforward victory.

A kobold standing at an impressive height of 7 feet and 11 inches or 241cm. He's armed to the teeth with plate armor covering his entire body, and he wields a giant great sword.

"Shit, a kobold captain."

In this dungeon, there are 5 mini bosses and 1 final boss. The mini-bosses are called kobold captains, and the final boss is called Kobold Hero, although I could confidently take on the boss with a party of 7 level 10 players, but I'm alone…

I swiftly activated my [Death Mark] ability on the last remaining kobold. Its gaze fixated on me, filled with fury and determination, as it raised a massive great sword overhead. With a powerful swing, the sword crashed down toward me, even though it fell short. Yet, an instinctual alarm jolted through me, urging me to react.

Reacting on pure instinct, I leaped to the side, narrowly avoiding the imminent danger. As the blade crashed into the cave floor, a shockwave erupted, ripping through the ground with a thunderous force. The cave trembled, echoing the power unleashed by the kobold's mighty strike.

"Haha, this is dangerous."
