Davis led her to the VIP lounge at the hotel. She was going to stay there until it was time for the show.
"Make yourself comfortable, I will be back." He said in a neutral tone and left her alone in the room.
She looked around the room. It was spacious and had delicate features like his house did, she walked to the couch and sat down.
She took her phone and called Stacey, she hadn't heard from her, the whole day.
Stacey picked up her phone at the first ring.
"Boss, how are you doing? Liam told me your husband is forcing you into being a model for his stupid diamond necklace. You don't have to do it, boss, send me your location and I will come and take you out of that place." She sounded worried and annoyed at the same time.
Calla knew Stacey was going to react in such a manner if she found out about the show.
"He isn't forcing me to do the show, I agreed to it." She said in a serious tone.
Stacey let out a sigh of relief, Liam had made it sound so bad.
"Okay, boss, if you say so. One more thing boss, Grandmaster called, I think he has a task for you," she said in a serious tone as well.
Calla was shocked, why on earth will the Grand Master call Stacey instead of her, he usually called her directly.
Was he mad at her? She wondered.
She took a deep breath. "I will be at work tomorrow." She added in a warning tone."Make sure to be early or else you would be punished."
Stacey gulped at the sound of Calla's tone of voice.
"Y-yes, boss." She stammered.
Calla was satisfied with the fact that Stacey was frightened, she would be early tomorrow.
"Good. Make sure to forward the progress of the task at hand to my email. I have to take a look at it tonight." She said in a commanding tone.
Stacey nodded forgetting that Calla couldn't see her.
After waiting for some time without getting a reply from her assistant, Calla knew she must have nodded her head.
She sighed and said in an annoyed tone, "I can't see you, Stacey."
Stacey was a little embarrassed by her actions. "Sorry, boss. I will do just as you have said."
Calla ended the call without saying another word.
Her mind was preoccupied with why the Grandmaster didn't call her directly to inform her about the task that he had for her.
She thought of calling him right away but she remembered it was against the rules to call the Grandmaster.
If she needed to talk to him, he had to call her first. She would have to wait until tomorrow when she got to work, he would call her.
Meanwhile somewhere in the hotel...
Davis was walking toward his two friends when someone bumped into him.
He didn't need to look at the man to know who he was. Only one person could bump into him without fear of being punished.
Liam Jefferson!
Davis's expression turned dark.
"What do you want Liam?." He asked in a stern cold voice.
Liam chuckled lightly. "What do I want?." sarcasm was evident in his voice.
Davis just looked at him indifferently without a word.
"You made her life miserable back in high school as a result of that she suffered a trauma. Thanks to the numerous therapist that she visited she recovered from the trauma. Then all of a sudden, you reappeared in her life, as her husband. What exactly do you want from her?." Liam's voice was loud, thereby drawing the attention of the other guests.
"You still haven't learned how to speak calmly," Davis responded calmly and that seemed to have angered Liam even more.
Liam spoke in an annoyed tone. "Why do you always act like you don't care, why not you leave Calla alone?."
Davis continued looking at him like a madman.
"I know the reason behind why you treated Calla badly in high school and I also know why you chose to arrange a marriage between the both of you.
She only accepted the marriage because of her quest for revenge even though she doesn't know that it was all your plan.
I love her so much, if anything is to happen to her, I will have no choice but to open up a can of worms."
Liam had expected Davis to show some signs of fear as he said those last words, but as usual, he kept a calm demeanor.
This further enraged him.
"If you are done talking, I have to go now," Davis said and walked out on him.
Liam wore a devilish smirk. "We will see how long you can hold on, Davis, we will see."
Liam Jefferson and Davis Williams were sworn enemies, it seems anything Davis wanted, Liam also wanted.
The only thing that Liam had that Davis didn't have was Calla's friendship.
The reason why Davis didn't have that was due to a mistake he made while in high school and the price of the mistake was losing Calla.
Davis knew fully well what Liam meant by 'a can of worms' but he knew how to deal with him.
Two handsome men smiled at the man who just joined them at their table.
"How is married life, my friend." Trevor, who was the playful one and the womanizer among them asked.
Davis ignored him and shook hands with Dylan the only one in the medical field amongst them.
Trevor clutched his heart pretending that he was hurt by Davis's actions. "Ouch! Why are you ignoring me? I was just trying to be a good friend."
"I guess you don't consider me as your friend. Since you seem to only notice Dylan. I am nobody to you." He added, pouting his lips while putting on an upset face.
"If you want to know how married life is, then, I suggest you get married." Davis said in a serious tone.
Trevor's jaw dropped. "Thanks for the advice, Davis, but I won't be keeping it in mind."
