Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 - Teaching (In Multiple Ways)

"Wagner, you better be awake enough to start teaching me!" Silvana yelled at Wagner, who had indeed slept in the library.

"Of course I am, 4 hours is all I need!" Wagner Certified

"Well the first subject I need help with is about Tensire the first hero. Most of the history questions are about him, and the magic theories he created." Silvana slightly narrowing her eyes, carefully watching Wagner's reaction to see if he was nervous or not.

"Perfect, I've read a couple books on that. The magic theories he created were based on the utilization of his main element of air to use other elements. For example containing a stream within a flow of air, carrying stones with air, and lastly giving life to fire with air. Some of the methods would be to just push forward the element with air, so instead of blocking with air which would grow a fire, he generated the idea of pushing up water into a wall using air. However, the downside is the requirement of the other elements to be present and in a position to be utilized." Said Wagner Confidently looking down at Silvana who had a look of shock on her face.

"Okay professor, I wasn't expecting you to know that much from just a 'couple books.'" She was now confident she chose the right tutor.

They continued to study the history surrounding the first hero Tensire for several hours until Silvana's brain was too fried to keep going.

"Silvana, I think we have to end it here today, I need some time to study and practice." Wagner said trying to avoid hurting her pride and gain some more free time.

"I agree, we can finish this slowly. What are you even practicing anyways?" Silvana curious what someone who knew so much would need to practice.

"Practicing the creation of my third mana circle. I definitely have way more mana in my body than I did when I had my second circle and I think I am close to getting my third." Wagner was excited

"How can you tell if you are close. My mana circle only formed after I had a large excess." Silvana tilted her head trying to examine Wagner and see why he had a different understanding than a royal with the best education. The best education that she usually skipped out on except in the department of training.

"I can almost form a full circle of lightning with my visualization technique." Wagner stated trying to figure out why she was so confused.

"What do you mean visualization technique? And how can your mana circle have an element before the spell creation process?" Silvana's confusion was growing and she wondered if she were just clueless.

"Well, I start by meditating and just imagine a flow of fire going around in a circle. When I got my first circle I burned down the barn and woke up on the ground. I only just realized when reading last night that I have to use my mana to create the sparks for my lightning visualization. I am trying to make a full circle out of sparks so that the stream is un-ending." Wagner was confident in what he had learned since it had in fact worked in the sense of attaining magic circles.

"Hold on, you actually visualize your creation of mana circles? This is crazy. I will be right back I am getting my magic teacher." Silvana said running off.

"Alright little boy, my student here said your mana circles have elements assigned to them but you don't have any spells yet?" Silvana's strange but beautiful teacher named Aleandra said. She was one of the mages in the countries military and a general at that. However, she had more so appeared to be someone who never left the couch. She had short black hair and clothes as common as Wagner, you could have only been able to tell she was important because of her stare, like she knew she had the power to break you in half if she felt like it.

Despite the intense pressure Wagner knew he wasn't lying so he wouldn't have to worry, "Here take a look." said Wagner, while physically manifested the first ring of fire and slowly manifested a second ring of fire using up all his possible concentration.

"So, like Silvana told me, this is how you think up a mana circle. Interesting, do you want to learn some skills?" Aleandra was getting excited at the idea of having a student that could reestablish mana circle theory as the world knew it.

"Absolutely but I really want to get my next mana circle completed first. I am really close and this one will be made of lightning." Wagner said fully breaking concentration and losing the rings of fire.

"Can I watch you use your visualization technique until you create your third circle?"

"Ooooh, ooooh, teacher can I join?" Silvana eager to not be left behind by her teacher and new tutor.

"Sure, you can watch but I don't exactly know how long it will take. Silvana before you can watch you have to grab me a list of books for me to read tomorrow. It took me too long to find all my books last night and I don't feel like searching again. Let's go out to the field." Wagner said enjoying making Silvana do his bidding.

"What! Why do I have to get your..."Silvana cried before being interrupted by her master.

"Silvana, this is a great learning experience, that is too little a sacrifice to be complaining about." This attitude from Aleandra shocked Wagner, as she didn't look anywhere near as military as she had just sounded.

OUT ON THE FIELD:

Wagner was having trouble focusing with a general in slacks staring at him.

"Can't you back up a little. I can't focus when I am being stabbed by the daggers you are staring so deeply into me." Wagner shouted hoping he wouldn't be literally stabbed for being so rude to a general.

"Fine, I guess, just show us some results already." The general backing up but definitely thinking of literally stabbing him for being so rude to a general.

Wagner was finally starting to visualize everything properly. Instead of starting with his first two circles he started on just the third. He used the same sparks as before because of a lack of inspiration for new ideas. He had created 3 sizes of sparks that he could control, the largest ones went through the center and the 2 smaller sizes would circle around it, creating their own mini-stream. Slowly he started to thread each one together, until he could form a full circle. Then came adding the first two circles, Wagner could only split his concentration just enough to add another circle. Then suddenly he decided instead of adding another circle of fire, he would cut the current one into two circles which was able to cause a giant lightning strike shooting outwards in every direction.

"What the... you couldn't have warned us" Aleandra said blocking the lightning from hitting Silvana.

"Sorry, I wasn't expecting to be able to do it, and plus I was a little too focused to start a conversation." Wagner forgetting that he was indeed in front of a general.

"I am sorry I didn't quite catch that, could you repeat that?" Aleandra said in her nicest tone.

"Nothing, it was nothing." Wagner rushed out feeling the pressure.

"Haha, you folded in front of master." Silvana laughing at the now weak feeling Wagner.

"Sure sure Silvana, can I just go to sleep now?" Wagner asked but without asking since he passed out as soon as he said that.

MANY HOURS LATER:

"You awake kid?" Aleandra asked, punching Wagner to make sure he would be awake.

"OWWWW, What was that for!?" Wagner shouted in pain.

"For one personal enjoyment and for two consider that the payment for me covering the costs of my new student's damage." Aleandra chuckled.

"What do you mean, what damage?" Wagner confused, thinking about how they went to the training ground to avoid the damage.

"Well, you kind of created a crater in the training grounds, they are cleaning it up right now and they made sure to pass the bill along to me. So the cost you have to pay, is getting hit and becoming my student. How about it?" Aleandra almost appearing to be a respectable general in this moment.

"I guess I don't really have a choice since I don't have any money right?" Wagner asked.

"Exactly!" Aleandra said getting a bit too excited that she was blackmailing a child successfully.

"When's the first lesson?" Wagner very reluctantly asked.
