Chapter 1 - The dreaded Spectre player

In the VRMMORPG Aerial Chronicles, where anything is possible, a group of players approached a castle with a dark atmosphere, determined to put an end to their deplorable situation.

The castle was on top of a mountain, surrounded by stormy clouds and lightning, creating an atmosphere of fear and terror, especially for the novice players in their squad, who were convinced by the more experienced players to join this raid, hoping to make history.

But... Who was there, and why were the rookies trembling as if the devil himself was present? Well, the answer is...

The Top 10 ranked player in the world: Spectre.

A completely evil and unhinged player, known to be the most feared and hated player in the game, due to his insidious and humiliating methods to finish off those he didn't like.

But the most disgusting thing about this player is that he makes no distinction between novice and veteran players, murdering all types of players until his level reaches 1 due to the accumulation of deaths.

(Every time you die in Aerial Chronicles, you lose experience, so if you die multiple times, you will eventually reach level 1.)

There were many players in the subjugation group, but four players stood out among them.

A paladin in golden armor, a mage wearing a dark gold robe that didn't hide her great attributes, an attractive archer with a colorful bow, and a priest with a mystical and holy appearance, all of them equipped with P2W items, but one of them stood out above the rest.

[ Sword of Requisition (Legendary)].

A sword that in the real world cost over $1,000 and had been refined specifically for eliminating beings with dark attribute, something Spectre bragged about.

"Is everyone ready?" the paladin asked with a serious expression.

"Good, let's go after that son of a bitch," the mage said with an angry expression.

"Everything is ready. Let's divide the loot equally among us, and those pawns will be given gold," said the archer with a charismatic smile.

The priest simply nodded calmly, as if taking Spectre's ending for granted.

"Good, then we'll make history in the server today," said the paladin, and they immediately headed for the castle.

Unaware that they were being watched by a small red-eyed girl.

--

It had all started as a simple bet. Spectre, the most feared villain player in the game, challenged the four most famous players to a final duel where they could use all kinds of objects and even other players.

He promised them that if they beat him, he would give them all his power and fortune. But if they lost, they would have to suffer the worst tortures they could imagine.

The players, confident in his strength and righteousness, accepted the challenge. They prepared for weeks, training, equipping themselves and studying the enemy.

They were sure they could defeat Spectre and free the world from his tyranny.

But they were wrong.

Spectre set them up. He led them to believe that they would face him on a fair and honorable battlefield (his beautiful, completely harmless castle), but in reality he led them into a dungeon filled with deadly traps, ferocious monsters and dark magic. There, he gradually weakened them, playing with them like a cat with a mouse.

And so we come to the present moment. With an evil laugh, he snatched away their weapons and magic items, and left them lying on the ground, bleeding and begging.

A gambler, dressed in a black trench coat that matched his pants and above all, his mask that showed terrifying ruby eyes.

"Ha ha ha, how pathetic you are, you thought you were the saviors of the world and you're nothing but useless rookies!" said Spectre to them, mocking them.

"Please have mercy, don't kill us!" begged the paladin, the leader of the players.

"Mercy? What is that? Does it eat?" replied Spectre, sarcastically.

"It's a monster! A psycho! A son of a bitch!" exclaimed the mage, the only woman in the group.

"Thanks for the compliment, hottie!" winked Spectre, as he touched one breast with his gloved hand.

Boing! Boing!

They all watched as her virtual attributes bounced with Spectre's pat.

"Let go, pig!" shouted the archer, trying to free himself from the chains that bound him.

"What's the matter, are you jealous, do you want me to touch you too?" asked Spectre, approaching him with a mischievous grin and a knife in his hand.

"No, please, no! Get away from me!" shrieked the archer, terrified.

You should know that, although they are in a virtual game, most stimuli, including pain, are present, albeit only at 40% sensitivity. No one in the world wants to feel pain.

"What fun this is, I'm having so much fun!" exclaimed Spectre, laughing out loud.

But he didn't realize that while he was laughing hysterically, a person was approaching from behind: it was the priest.

When the priest saw that he was at a close distance, he immediately pulled out a vial with a glowing white liquid, ran up to him and shouted.

"AAA AAAAA, die, devil spawn!"

Spectre, "shocked", just watched as the priest approached with interest.

"What, what's that in your hand?" asked Spectre, confused.

"It's holy water, you damned devil! I'll burn you with it!" shouted the priest, throwing the flask at him.

"Ow, ow, ow! What a hurt! What a pain! What a burning!" complained Spectre, pretending to be in pain.

"Ha ha ha, how naive you are, do you really think it affects me? I'm immune to holy water!" said Spectre, brushing the liquid off himself.

"It can't be! It's impossible! Then what weakens you?" asked the priest, in despair.

"Nothing! Nothing weakens me! I'm invincible! I'm the king of this world!" boasted Spectre, raising his arms.

"That's a lie! You must have some weakness! Everyone does!" insisted the priest.

"Well, okay, I'll tell you! But only because I like you. My only weakness is..." said Spectre, with a straight face.

Everyone waited in silence, trying to guess what kind of weakness he had.

"Your mother!" said Spectre, letting out a laugh.

As Spectre laughed, a light rushed down from the sky through the castle roof and hit him.

Spectre failed to react and the light swallowed him up, leaving only the prints of his shoes as evidence that he had ever been there.

The priest, startled, exclaimed, "What the fuck!"

In real life, multiple storms lashed the world, generating fear in people. Even the most experienced scientists could not give an explanation for this event.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Suspiciously, all the lightning seemed to be directed towards certain people who were playing Aerial Chronicles, among them the dreaded player Spectre.
