In a serene park filled with lush greenery and vibrant flowers. The sunlight filters through the leaves, casting a warm glow on the scene. Benches and paths wind through the park, inviting people to relax and enjoy nature's beauty.
In the center of the park, on a comfortable bench, sits a boy with white hair and handsome facial features, he was fully dressed in black clothing and had a smile on his face, close to the bench sat an empty wheelchair.
The boy's eyes scan the park till he finally saw the person he was looking for, a bubbly girl with the same white hair as his own ran towards him with two ice cream in her hands.
"I know you love ice cream but isn't two too much for you" the boy spoke.
"But I bought one for you," the girl spoke with a smile on her face.
"You can have both, I'm not really in the mood for ice cream"
"Huh! But I bought the second one for you, I can't have both of them" the girl pouted.
"You can't have them both...but I saw you eat three ice creams some days back" The boy chuckled slightly as he spoke.
Before the girl could reply, his phone rang and he saw the caller's name and quickly answered.
After a while of speaking, he kept the phone back in his pocket, and an even large smile formed on his face as he spoke, "Time to go home"
"What's with your smile, who called you?"
"You don't need to know" the boy laughed.
"If you are not going to tell me, then I'm not leaving, you can go on your own" The girl folded her hands and looked away waiting for her brother to confess but she heard nothing.
She turned around and looked at him and a drop of tear fell down his eyes, immediately she realized what she had done and quickly apologized.
"I'm really sorry, I didn't mean it that way, I was just trying to..."
"I know," the boy said with a smile, "I know what you were trying to do and I'm not angry so don't apologize"
"But I didn't mean it, I–I was...trying..." the girl stuttered as her eyes became watery.
"I said I'm not angry, but if you cry I'm going to get really angry, I need to get home now to confirm something, stop crying and take me home"
"Okay..." the girl said as she wiped her tears and brought the wheelchair closer to him.
She helped him get into the wheelchair and pushed him out of the park towards their home.
Lewis was 15 years old when the most horrible thing happened to his family, on their way back from an amusement park they had an accident.
An event that couldn't be erased from his memories, an unfortunate day when both of his parents were killed and his legs were damaged in the process, his little sister was the only one that survived the incident without permanent injuries.
Three years had gone by in the blink of an eye and Lewis was still living, after the incident, everything changed for the worst, so bad that he almost took his life, with his parents gone they moved to their grandparent's house.
Lewis was at home all day so he had no friends, he didn't attend school but he received lessons at home to make up for it, he spent his lonely days in his room playing games but lately, he had been frequently asking his sister to take him out which she did happily.
A few months back a new competition began in his favorite online multiplayer game and he was one of the few players who won, they were ten in total and he came out fourth, all ten players were promised something and he received a call from his grandma that a package came for him so he was excited to go back home.
"Grandma we are back!!" his sister Lisa announced as they walked through the front door.
They lived in a large building with at least 20 different tenants, Lewis's grandfather was the owner of the building so money was not a problem for them and they took care of them like their own kids.
"Welcome back, did you guys have fun?"
"Yes," Lisa answered cheerfully.
"So grandma, where is the package?" Lewis asked.
"Ohh, I see you are very excited, is it a new gaming system you ordered, it says BattleEnix... isn't that the popular gaming company"
"Yes but it isn't a new gaming system, it's a gift from the company, I won a competition but I don't know what the gift is that's why I'm excited" Lewis spoke.
"Ohh, maybe it's a new gaming system, or controller or... something interesting" Lisa spoke.
"Okay, I hope it's a new gaming system or a brand new game they haven't released yet" Lewis muttered in excitement as he opened the medium-sized box.
"Huh!! wait... isn't that a letter?" Lewis asked his sister.
"It's a letter, they sent you a letter of congratulations for winning a competition, I thought you said they would give you a gift, the company is pretty stingy," Lisa said as she walked towards her room.
"They wouldn't send a letter of congratulations, would they?" Lewis mumbled as he took the letter from the box and opened it.
