"Lewis I challenge you to a race, let's see who is the fastest" a voice spoke and his eyes opened.
In front of Lewis were three unfamiliar figures in clothing that can only be found in fantasy games, one of them was a girl and she was dressed like an archer with a quiver in her back while the other two were dressed like swordsmen.
'Who are these, I have no idea who these people are, and why is he telling me to race with his, my legs are not...' Lewis looked down and discovered he was standing on both of his legs.
'Wait are those my legs, those are my legs right, I'm standing on my feet, I'm actually standing on my feet' Lewis exclaimed.
"Let's race, I'm prepared today" the boy spoke again.
Lewis took a step forward and another step, in the next instant he dashed forward with speed, he couldn't contain his joy and excitement as he faced forward.
"You didn't tell me you were ready" the boy shouted as he chased after Lewis.
In the next instant, he fell to the ground and for some reason, the feeling he had in his legs was gone.
'No...no what happened' Lewis shouted as light faded from his eyes.
Lewis's eyes opened once again and he was on his bed, "I knew it was a dream, it was too good to be true"
The door to his room opened and he turned his head towards the door, "Morning..." Lisa spoke as she saw him awake.
"Morning, were you waiting for me to wake up?" Lewis asked.
"No, but I was checking on you, today is Sunday, another free day, what do you want to do today," Lisa asked.
"An invitation was in the box from yesterday, I'm planning to go to BattleEnix company"
"An invitation, really...I thought all they gave you was a letter, did they state the purpose of the invite, or did they want to give you a tour around their company"
"I don't know, I'll have to find out" Lewis spoke as he struggled to sit up, his sister brought his wheelchair close and he went about his morning routine of brushing, bathing, and eating.
"Are you done?" Lisa called from outside.
"I'm not and stop disturbing me, give me some minutes" Lewis shouted.
"I can do it for you if you let me"
"And why would I let you, I can wear my clothes by myself" Lewis spoke as he opened the door.
Lisa chuckled softly as he came out, "Your shirt is inside out"
"You caused this" Lewis muttered.
...
After dressing both of them rode a cab to the company, the head company was in the same city Lewis was staying so it wasn't a problem.
Within minutes they arrived in front of the company, the company headquarter was the tallest building in the city, it stood hundreds of meters with an astounding 100 floor.
This wasn't the first time he was seeing the company but this was going to be his first time going in.
Lisa was at Alex's back as both of them passed through the door and walked in, as they stepped inside, they were greeted by a dynamic reception area adorned with large LED screens showcasing the latest and greatest games developed by BattleEnix.
The walls were decorated with concept art, posters, and memorabilia from beloved gaming franchises. Lewis and his sister totally forgot what they were there for and spent their time looking around till a man dressed in a black suit walked up to them.
"How can I help you?" the man asked in a hoarse yet gentle voice.
"I got an invitation" Lewis spoke as he reached into his pocket and brought out the invitation and the letter.
The man recognized it immediately, "Follow me I'll lead the way"
Lewis and his sister followed the man and they got into an elevator and moved to another floor, the elevator was made transparent enabling Lewis to see what other floors look like.
Moving upward Lewis discovers an open-plan workspace bustling with energy. Sleek desks house powerful computers, their screens pulsating with colorful digital worlds. Keyboards clacking as programmers, artists, and designers collaborate, their creativity blending seamlessly as they worked together.
The elevator quickly moved up more floors and Lewis saw another working space different from the first one, cozy nooks and comfortable seating areas at each corner of this floor, inviting impromptu brainstorming sessions and lively discussions. Whiteboards and chalkboards display sketches, diagrams, and game mechanics, serving as visual canvases.
Lewis couldn't help but smile as the elevator moved upward and they got to another workspace, this time a dedicated sound design studio occupied the floor, where immersive audio is meticulously crafted to transport players to far-off realms.
The walls were padded with soundproof material, ensuring an environment where every musical note and game sound effect can be fine-tuned to perfection.
Venturing upward Lewis saw a state-of-the-art motion capture studio. Here, agile actors moved around in special suits adorned with sensors, their movements would later be translated into fluid animations for the virtual characters in games. The studio was an embodiment of artistry, where creativity is infused with technology.
For moments of respite and inspiration, a recreation floor was laid. Comfortable couches surround a massive screen where beta testers gather to play and analyze games from across the industry. Ping pong tables, arcade machines, and shelves brimming with board games offer an opportunity to unwind and recharge, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the team.
Finally, they arrive at their stop—an awe-inspiring meeting room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a panoramic cityscape.
The room was adorned with a massive screen, perfect for presenting game demos and trailers that transport viewers to fantastical realms, and on the screen of the TV two words were written, Deep Dive.
