I stood in Dallas Texas. I had once lived here, what seemed to be a lifetime ago. Everything had changed, as things usually do in the span of a hundred years. The buildings looked as though they had all been rebuilt with a strange metal. There were no more glass windows. The city had turned into one of steel and smoke.
I walked up to a random man walking down the street with his hands in his pockets. "Hey, stop, I have a question for you."
The man turned around. His hands flew out from his pockets and they both held knives. His lip curled up into a snarl. "What the fuck do you want?"
I smiled. "What happened to this city? Why isn't there glass here anymore?"
He cocked his head to the side and curled his lip in disgust instead of anger. "Another crazy crackhead."
I gritted my teeth. 'Fine, I was going to have some fun, but this man is pissing me off.'
