"Is this your car?" Jake exclaimed in surprise as Xenia led him to a red Ferrari sports car,and pulled out the car keys.
Among the students at Princeton University, some had their own cars. The school didn't prohibit students from driving, but having such nice cars was quite rare.
Just like Wendy, who came from a relatively well-off family, yet Jake hadn't seen her drive to school. The last time they went to Kailomen together, they took a taxi.
"Yeah," Xenia casually replied, "Teacher, do you want to try it?"
"Forget it," Jake waved his hand, "I don't even have a driver's license."
"No license, no problem. If anything happens, I'll handle it," Xenia said.
"I'd rather not," Jake declined.
"I was actually thinking of having the teacher be the driver, but it looks like I'll have to be your driver," Xenia teased with a smile.
"Sorry to trouble you, Xenia student," Jake said somewhat embarrassed.
Xenia winked at Jake and continued, "we're just going shopping. If other people hear you calling me that, knowing we're in a teacher-student relationship, who knows what they might think? Or perhaps, Teacher, you enjoy this kind of forbidden, exciting feeling? If that's the case, I won't force you to change."
"No, it's not like that," Jake quickly responded, "I'll call you by your name then."
Xenia smirked triumphantly and then said, "Get in the car, my teacher!" She emphasized the word "teacher."
"Outside of school, you can call me by my name," Jake thought about the situation Xenia mentioned earlier and quickly requested Xenia to change her address . He didn't want to constantly deal with curious looks from others.
"Got it, teacher!" Xenia said smugly.
The car started. This was the second time Jake had been in a sports car, and both times were with beautiful women driving. Such treatment wasn't something everyone could enjoy. However, if he had a choice, Jake really didn't want to go out with Xenia. Why did she have to be so stubborn?
"You seem pretty familiar with this place," Jake remarked as Xenia parked the car near QK Square.
The area around QK Square was the busiest and liveliest part of the entire J City. It was filled with many shopping malls and stores, offering a variety of products from well-known brands, both domestic and international. This place was a prime destination for shopping.
For the previous Jake, this place was only heard of but rarely visited. Unlike the shops on the street in front of Princeton University, which offered more affordable items, the things sold around QK Square were pricier. For Jake, the items here were luxury goods.
However, considering Xenia's background, there was no doubt she could afford to shop here. But if she already knew about this place, was he being led on?
"It's so big here, and I'm afraid of getting lost," Xenia pouted playfully. Who would believe that? However, since they were already here, Jake didn't want to leave. He reluctantly followed Xenia for some shopping.
QK Square truly lived up to its reputation as the largest and most bustling square in all of J City. Its decorations, environment, and everything else were unparalleled. Of course, the foot traffic here was also incredibly high.
"If I could have my own restaurant here, that would be great," Jake thought to himself. Solamachi Square had a massive flow of people, and Jake had confidence in his culinary skills and ingredients. He believed that opening a restaurant here would definitely be a hit.
However, it was said that the rent for each storefront here was not cheap at all. The slightly larger stores could cost over a million per year, and some even more. Clearly, this wasn't something the current Jake could afford. Perhaps he could consider it two months later when he received that owed payment. Of course, there also needed to be an available storefront here. With such a prime location, finding a vacant space wouldn't be easy at all.
For the first time accompanying a girl shopping, Jake finally experienced the terrifying enthusiasm girls had while shopping. Whenever they passed by a decent-looking store, Xenia would go in to take a look. And if she liked something, she wouldn't even glance at the price before buying it.
"Hey, the clothes in this store look nice," Xenia's steps in front of yet another store seemed like they were weighed down by lead.
"You said the same about the previous few stores," Jake complained.
"Come on, let's go in and take a look," ignoring Jake's complaint, Xenia entered the store first.
Jake had no choice but to carry the bags and follow her inside. It had been about two hours since they arrived here, and during this time, they hadn't stopped at all. The result was that Jake's hands were getting more and more filled with shopping bags – the spoils of Xenia's shopping spree.
"Welcome," as they entered, the store's salesperson warmly greeted them. When they saw the many bags in Jake's hands, their eyes seemed to light up a bit more, and their smile became even more radiant. Xenia eagerly approached the racks of clothes and began picking out items.
"Jake, how about this dress?" Xenia held up a red dress and asked Jake.
"Not bad," Jake replied without even looking.
He had heard this kind of question countless times in the past two hours. If he said something was not good-looking, Xenia would pick another item for him to evaluate. She would keep doing this until he said "good" or "not bad," then she would stop pestering him.
"so perfunctory," Xenia pouted playfully and shot Jake a glare.
"Lovely lady has great taste. This dress is a new arrival in our store, and there are only a few of them. Your figure is so good that you'll look amazing in this dress," the salesperson who had been by Xenia's side
"I also think it's not bad," Xenia said with a smile, "Okay, I'll try it on." After saying that, she took the dress and headed to the fitting room, while Jake waited outside.
"Hey, buddy, come and have a seat," at that moment, another male customer in the store said to Jake, "Women take a long time to shop for clothes. You might as well come and sit, take a break."
Jake didn't refuse. In the previous few clothing stores, Xenia did indeed take quite a while to pick out clothes. If she found something she thought was good, she would try on item after item, standing and waiting the whole time. It was boring and tiring.
