Chapter 110 - Xenia's request

If a man said something like this to Jake, he would assume that the person was pursuing Xenia and misunderstand the relationship between him and Xenia. Just like Carlton. But Wendy is a girl, so why would she say that?

Could it be... ,Jake thought of a certain possibility, and considering Wendy's usual attitude towards the opposite sex, he felt that such a scenario wasn't entirely impossible, even quite likely.

"It's a pity that such a beauty doesn't like guys," Jake shook his head and sighed.

Luckily, Wendy had already run far ahead. Otherwise, if she heard Jake's words, it might lead to an intimate encounter between his face and the ground, and he would understand why so red.

After finishing his workout, Jake saw an unexpected figure at the exit of the field. Xenia! Could she be here for a workout too? Despite Wendy's "warning," she was his student after all, so Jake still politely nodded and greeted her, "Xenia, are you here for exercise as well?"

"Jake, it's not class time now," Xenia responded with a slightly coquettish tone, trying to sound playful.

Although Xenia's tone was pleasant, Jake couldn't let his guard down. He still remembered how boldly Xenia had flirted with him during their first class. Such a girl, even if she was his student, was dangerous! He needed to keep his distance.

"Teacher..." Xenia's eyes sparkled with a coquettish look as she playfully drew out the word, gazing at Jake with an affectionate expression.

"I have something to do, so I'll be leaving," Jake decided that a strategic retreat was best to counter this fierce assault. After all, he was currently a celebrity on campus. If someone saw him engaged in a lengthy conversation with a female student, using that kind of affectionate expression and playful tone, who knows what rumors might spread.

Especially with a student like Xenia, who was also a campus sensation and considered a sex symbol by many male students, the likelihood of rumors spreading would be even higher.

"Wait!" As Jake tried to leave, Xenia quickly called out, "Teacher, I've been waiting here for you. I need your help with something."

"What is it?" Jake turned around and asked. As a teacher, he felt it was his responsibility to assist students when they were in need, rather than just walking away.

"I want to go buy some things, but I'm not familiar with this place, and I can't carry too much on my own. I thought I'd ask for help, and I think you, as my teacher, are the most suitable person," Xenia explained.

"Me? I can't," Jake quickly shook his head.

If it were an ordinary member of the opposite sex, Jake might have agreed or even eagerly accepted. But Xenia was his student, and she was also quite assertive. Jake felt that it would be better to keep his distance.

"Teacher, can you really bear to not help your own student?" Xenia pleaded with a pitiful look, "I'm a petite girl, weak and frail. How can I carry so much stuff? As a teacher, shouldn't you help students in need?"

"But you're different," Jake hesitated.

"What's so different? By helping me, you're still solving my problem. This is what a good teacher should do," Xenia put away her pitiful expression, took a step forward, and extended her hand. In full view of everyone, she linked her arm with Jake's and said, "If you don't agree, I'll just keep holding onto you and not let you go." A warm sensation spread from her arm to his, and her touch was delicate.

However, Jake didn't dare enjoy this pleasant feeling because the moment Xenia linked her arm with his, he felt countless pairs of eyes turning towards him. These gazes were like sharp swords piercing his body, making him uncomfortable all over.

"Let's talk properly, don't be like this," Jake reached out to remove Xenia's hand.

However, Xenia took advantage of the situation and held onto Jake's hand, playfully saying, "Oh, so the teacher wants to hold my hand? You should have said so earlier. I won't refuse. How does my hand feel, by the way? Is it soft enough?"

Indeed, it was soft. That was the feeling Jake had when he held Xenia's hand and slightly cool, a very pleasant sensation. Of course, this only lasted for a moment. The instant Xenia grabbed his hand, Jake managed to free himself from her grip and took two steps back, saying, "This is the field, don't do this."

"Teacher, are you saying that it's only not okay on the field? Alright then, let's find a place with no one around. You can hold my hand as much as you like, and who knows, I might not even refuse if you want to touch other places," Xenia said with a seductive smile, her gaze quite captivating.

"That's not what I meant," Jake explained.

"Explaining is just covering up, stop talking, I understand," Xenia giggled mischievously. She then took a step forward, attempting to link her arm with Jake's once again.

"Stop!" Jake stepped back again and urgently intervened, "Don't do this, I'll agree to go out with you." Reluctantly, Jake had to agree to Xenia's request; otherwise, she wouldn't easily let him go.

"Alright then, let's go," Xenia's face was filled with a foxy and triumphant smile. Such a smile, combined with her alluring face, not only wasn't annoying but also had an even greater charm.

Jake and Xenia walked side by side, but there was about a person's distance between them. Jake was wary of Xenia, trying to prevent her from doing anything that would make him uncomfortable.

Xenia glanced at Jake beside her, then slightly turned her head to look at a corner not far from the field. A smug smile appeared on her face. Afterward, she turned back and moved a bit closer to Jake. Seeing that she wasn't being overly intrusive, Jake didn't say anything.

In the corner Xenia was looking at, Wendy was standing there, watching the two of them leave. Her usually cool demeanor seemed to carry a touch of frostiness. As someone passed by her side, they seemed to feel that the temperature around her was significantly colder than elsewhere.

"Hmph! Men are all the same!" Wendy snorted coldly and muttered to herself in a low voice. If someone were to closely examine her expression, they'd see "jealousy" written on the left side of her face and "envious" on the right. Such an expression on the usually aloof Wendy was enough to astonish anyone. Unfortunately, while many of her peers secretly stole glances at her, not many dared to stop and scrutinize her face in front of her.
