My eyes were closed in darkness. Soreness was the only sensation I felt. Beside me, I could hear the faint sound of something weeping. Who was it? I tried to open my eyes, but only the muscles in my fingers moved, tapping against a soft fabric. A soft fabric? Where am I?
My eyes fluttered open, but my vision was blurry and untrustworthy. All I could see were moving shapes of light seeping in through the cracked window.
"My lady... are you awake?" a voice echoed in the room. I slowly turned my head to get a blurry vision of Lisa's excited face next to me, and relief washed over me at the familiar smile.
I removed the covers and tried to sit up, but the pain in my muscles made me fall back with a cry.
"My lady... relax. You will be fine," Lisa panicked.
I nodded slightly and exhaled.
"How long have I been out?" I asked.
"Just two days," she told me.
