I woke up with a pounding pain in my head. The bed was wet again, soaked with tears from the entire night. It had been three days since everything had happened and Regan was locked in the dungeon. Yet, I couldn't do anything to free him, despite my promise to do whatever it took.
But what would it cost me to have Regan released? What price would I have to pay?
Ivan had made it clear that I had to comply with his demands if I wanted my husband to be released. But, I couldn't and wouldn't comply with his selfish reasons. I would never agree to his requests.
He was evil. Selfish. And he deserved to die.
A knock on the door drew my attention, and Ciara walked in. She looked displeased as soon as she saw me.
This was how I was supposed to be. I looked wrecked, stranded, and lost. Traces of dried tears lined my face, and I appeared weak and pale, as if someone on the verge of death.
