Chapter 44 - Thoughts

The sky above them was shrouded in ominous, dark clouds, casting an eerie shadow over the desolate ruin of stone houses that stretched out before Ethan and Mia. 

It gave the impression that a heavy downpour was imminent, ready to unleash its fury upon the ancient remnants of this once-thriving village.

Despite the foreboding sky, the air held an unexpected sense of openness and freshness. It carried the faint scent of damp earth and the promise of rain, making it seem as though the heavens were teasing the earth below with the prospect of a long-awaited shower. 

Ethan couldn't help but wonder if it was merely the atmospheric moodiness of the place that suggested rain, while in reality, the heavens had no intention of delivering it.
