The people got there late, they could see the Village head's wine cup on the floor and signs of him being dragged.
"Let's quickly go find him!" Maria said but Anthony put a hand in front of her to block her from running into the forest.
"Let's not be too hasty, we can't see in the dark whereas there are a lot of creatures that can so we will be at a disadvantage." His thick voice was authoritative and domineering.
The people all nodded. They knew about the horrors of the forest as people have went in during the night and never came back so they agreed to what Anthony was saying... at least let them prepare.
Maria gritted her teeth as she said, "What are you suggesting?"
Anthony calmly looked at her.
"We will search for him in the morning, we will have a better chance then."
And with that they concluded it. Maria was still not on board with the plan and wanted to go into the forest to save her Master but the terrors of the forest was still there.
So they all agreed to move out in the morning.
...
...
...
Xander opened his eyes to see an ashen ceiling that looked like a strange rock. The ceiling was uneven and looked quite mystical.
From what he was feeling he was lying down on a hard surface and it was quite uncomfortable. His body ached in multiple places as he managed to turn and sit up.
He looked at his surroundings and saw nothing but a large boulder in front of him, covering what was the entrance of this cave.
There was a small hole in the ceiling which light came through, illuminating the dark cave. Xander still felt like he was being watched. He turned around to see that the cave still went forwards and the place he was at was where the light touched.
'I wonder what's in there. I'm not going to explore that side. Let's see if I can find another way out.' He thought.
Xander then went towards the boulder that blocked the cave and tried pushing it.
He let out a grunt as he put all his energy into his legs but the boulder still wouldn't budge.
He then went around it, touching the walls around it to see whether there was some kind of trigger to open the cave.
After a few minutes of walking around the two metres diameter round boulder and not finding anything Xander gave up and sat on the floor in exhaustion.
"I've checked all around the periphery of the light and didn't find anything. I'll check if I can climb up to that hole... if not, I'll have to explore the dark cave." He decided.
After a few hours of loneliness Xander couldn't help but remember his mother that used to be there for him whenever he needed her.
When sick she would be by his side, when he gets injured she would over react when ever he buys a new game she chuckles.
He smiled a bitter smile as he mumbled, "I miss my mom."
He then curled his knees and hugged it while he rested beside the boulder. Just then another person's image flashed before him, his father's.
His father used to always play with him and although he used to work most of the time, he still made time for Xander.
Xander couldn't help but feel guilty for not accepting his father when he came. It was wrong of him. But it wasn't right to leave your family for a year without contacting them, is it?
"This is starting to get creepy." He said as the silence was giving him an eerie feeling.
Just then a beeping sound resounded in his ear as a screen appeared in front of him.
[You are trapped in the cave of Serebus, the dragon king. Any creature you slay will give you x2 exp and improvium.]
Xander gulped a mouthful of spit as he heard that he was trapped in a dragon's cave and there are monsters here.
Seeing the word dragon he couldn't help but remember the red dragon boss of flame world, how terrifying it's stats was.
"Maybe something will help me." He said as he brought up the status screen.
His status was blocked by a bell sign with a red dot at the top left; a notification bell. Xander remembered that he has been receiving notifications non-stop since the dragon fly attack and he immediately tapped it to just check it out.

Xander was beyond shocked. The so called arcana that his dad talked about was indeed real. He didn't even know how to react to this.
Seeing the rank and type he didn't know how special his arcana was but he could tell that by the name 'Mythical' it was very high leveled and overpowered.
Xander face-palmed as he probably wouldn't be here if he checked the notification sooner.
"I should have checked it sooner, damn it. I wouldn't be in this mess if I had just checked it sooner. Let me see the skills." He said and continued scrolling down.

"Yes yes yes. Finally, power is coming to me." Xander said excitedly.
Seems like he wasn't going to die here after all. He still wanted to meet Harry in this world and God knows where Sandra will be right now.
His skills seem okay for now but he still doesn't know the exact name of the arcana or what the arcana even is.
"Hmmm.... according to dad's explanation the arcana Let's humans use super powers. And by my guess, I have become a necromancer." He said, stroking his chin.
"Let's see what else the system notified me of." He scrolled down to continue reading.

"Wow..."
Xander felt anger flowing into himself, not because of the system but because of himself.
'If only I had read the notifications. I awakened my arcana the night that the game changed, which means... the night that I and Maria...'
'...no no, you're trapped in a cave and you're thinking about a girl. Get a grip on yourself.'He thought and looked into the dark side of the cave.
"I might as well try to escape from here. Let me check my status screen and then begin exploring."
